Portable whole-RV surge and spike protectors now offer more than twice the rated protection of earlier models.

Easy to see LCD display uses plain, easy to understand language to keep you informed of status at a glance. Built-in intelligence lets these units reset automatically at power restoration. Each shuts off power in the event of an open neutral, low (under 102 volts) and high (over 132 volts) voltage or reverse polarity to protect your RV and its electrical components from damage and fire.

Continuously monitors for voltage and amp draw (RMS) and reverse polarity (miswired pedestal or elevated ground voltage). Built-in 128 second reset delay protects air conditioner compressors. Two-light LED backup indicators for power and faults. More compact design for easier storage. Easy pull handles on connectors for safety and convenience.

Picked this up after horror stories from other campers. Ourrig is our home. So far very easy to use, however you need muscle to pull your electrical cord out of this protector. Will look to lubricate power cord prongs for easier use. I feel it is worth the money to protect such a huge investment as an RV. Happy Camping!

While I have only used the Surge Guard that I purchased a few times, I am confident that it will do the job if a problem occurs. I have the 50 amp unit with the protective lock box. The unit is built very sturdy and functions as stated. I recently camped at a very large RV Resort in Arizona with over 1,700 hook ups and I felt much more secure with it in place

Last summer there was a lightning strike just a few feet from our travel trailer. We were connected to the 30amp outlet and had our surge protector installed.The park pedestal had damage, 20a GFI was melted and both the 30a and 50 a circuits were damaged. the trailer and electrical systems were undamaged. We have since traded in our travel trailer for a fifth wheel and immediatley purchased a 50amp surge protector for the new unit. Our 30A surge protector still worked and we continued to use it for the rest of the summer. The cost of these surge protectors is a small price to pay compared to wire and appliance replacement, or trailer replacement.

While we've never personally had any type of electrical problem while hooked up (that we know of at least), I know others who have experienced a little electrical excitement. And that can quickly become expensive if it damages circuits or specific appliances. So I'm glad we invested in our 50 Amp surge protector. We purchased it on sale, which also helps from the value perspective. It's easy and simple to use and easy to secure while hooked up. Even when it's just monitoring things, it will always let you know how many volts your hook-up has coming in, plus how many Amps you are using at any particular time. If there is a problem with the inbound line, it will also diagnose and tell you what the issue is. It all adds up to peace of mind.

This is the second surge guard I have had. The first one saved me from at least two spikes before it was fried. Nothing in the RV was fried. Buy it!

Having read all the horror stories about losing refrigerators and burned coaches in trailer life and Good sam articles its nice to plug in with the assurance that this product removes all the guess work in assuming that the electrical stancion was wired correctly. The digital display prevents damage and is constantly working while you are enjoying yourself.

Purchased Surge Guard about 4 years ago. Everything works fine except the low voltage detector. Using a voltmeter, Surge Guard did not disconnect until about 95 volts. That's below their specs. However, it's long out of warrenty. But how do you test for low voltage, you have to wait until it happens before you know you have a Surge Guard problem. I monitor my voltage myself because my Surge Guard does not have the LCD display. But I am still happy with the protection.

Bought this in Orlando right after a lightning strike took out my hughes auto former and my switcher box. I am much happier with this. I feel safe, the hughes almost cought fire, the switch did. This can't happen now.

I have used it for a two week camping trip. No problems so far. I like the readout on it showing how many amps I am using on each leg. A little large but will be worth it if it protects my camper.

I ordered and received my surge guard just in time. My next outing was at the Kentucky Horse park where I used the big and bulky surge protector for the 1st time. On my second day the juice was turned off on my Motor home. I found the 50 amp service was arcing and shorting out and the surge protector shut my unit down. I found the supply box had a leg completely melted and think that without this protection it would have transferred some of that damage to my unit. The campground repaired the box and every thing was fine. It paid for itself the first outing after receiving it.

So far so good. Have had good electrical service since the purchase. It does give me peace of mind because we have connected to some questionable outlets. We are fulltime RVers and travel in a Motorhome. I do like the fact that it tells you the line voltage and you able to see the variation between the two line on the 50 Amp hook-up.

Decided to invest in this unit when a power surge took out $500 worth of power converter, microwave oven, etc. My park model RV is connected to a local co-op power source but there are still a lot of outages. This is a good surge guard & simple to hook up. I really like having a constant readout on both legs for both current voltage & amps being drawn by the appliances. It is even possible to tell how many amps an individual appliance is drawing by turning them on in sequence. I have had it operating for 5 months without a simgle problem. No more worry if the power goes off & flickers a few times in the process.
