8 yrs of service

After 8 winters only one block from the ocean, this trooper finally gave out. If I had washed the salt out of the straps in mild soap, rinsed and dried them properly before storage, they would still be great tie-downs. I tried other systems but replaced them with the same. They are the best in my 30 yrs of camping experience

Better than a new awning!!

This is a very inexpensive fix for an awning (like ours) that has had the locking ratchet fail - the power hook awning tensioners hold the awning firmly in the "out" position - the repair for the awning roller would cost $100's, so this is an excellent alternative! BTW - if you leave your awning out 24-7-365 the $900 awning will deteriorate from weathering - never mind the $20 straps!!!!!

Work Great, But Deteriorate Too Easily

I have to agree with the previous review. I bought mine in Feb06, used them almost continuously through early Jul06. I tried a couple of other methods to keep the awning tight, but these definitely worked the best. Especially since there are no ropes to run into as you walk from under your awning out into your campsite. I hope the web strap will be improved by the manufacturer in the future, but I will be purchasing another set.

My Tensioner straps seemed to deteroriate and break after constant use for about a year. Work great and I am ordering another set.

I probably own or have tried everything out there for awning tension stablizers. The "Power Hook" is the BEST design ever. First and most important! You don't have to auger somthing into the ground and ther is no rope to tie to the ground. At many camp sites there is NO Ground... so you tie it to a picnic table or whaterver??? Then there is the rope to run into... Finally, there is this Power Hook. I have had one for at least a year longer than Camping world has offered them and it is so easy to use that even my mechanically challenged spouse can install and remove it. It works in any windy condition that common sense allows the use oif your awning. Try it. It is the Best.

Works Great, But!!!

The awning tensioner works great, but the material does not hold up. I have had both straps literally come apart, tear just below where it has been looped and sawn together. I have had to put both straps back together, and the sad part is it just maybe one year old.

Needs Help

I think this is a great product design. Easy off and on and it really works. The only problem I have had is that after a good bit of use and exposure the straps begin to deteriorate and will eventually break. I have had to replace at least one strap yearly.
