Customer Reviews For Ramble RV Ladder Bike Rack

Does the job, but with limitations - August 13, 2008

I bought this to carry two kids' bikes, after finding that this was the best option for me. Before using it, I did read the reviews about screws working their way out, so I used some thread sealer on all of the screws before using the rack. So far, I have not had any problems with loose screws. The hooks that go over the ladder come disassembled from the rest of the rack, and the mounting holes were positioned such that the hooks did not line up straight with the rest of the rack. It didn't affect the functionality of the rack, but I think the manufacturer could have gone to the effort to make sure the holes were drilled straight. So, three stars because I didn't have the problems others have had, but the hooks were not straight, and I had to fix the screws before using the rack. Not a piece of junk, but not a stellar product, either.

I bought this bike rack to carry two bicycles for my granddaughters when on a rv trip with us. When trying to tie down the first bicycle a clip on a tie down strap broke. Also could not securely tie down the bicycle to be sure it was safe. Don't even consider trying to hook two bicycles up to it.

Bought and installed rack in Tampa end of April 2008. Immediately began travel with several layovers on the way to Hershey, PA. without incident. Between Hershey and E. Falmouth, MA., one screw and spacer of upper arm gone with opposite screw and both lower screws backed about half-way out. Result, bicycle handle impacted taillight lens and shattered.
