This unit, I guess, is like all the other 5th wheel hitches. The only thing I have found is it doesn't lock in the monuver position very well. I have tried it on several occasions and found that it hasn't locked in and me and my truck is joseled around because of it. It can't be good for the truck or the 5th wheel. If I had it to do all over again I would buy the unit, that auto adjusts to what ever driving and turning you are doing. You do not have to get out of the truck to move the hitch it does it all by itself. It is a lot more money but I think it would be worth it.

I have the new style with the round tubes on the slider and it works pretty good, for the amount of time I need to use the slider function, 1 out 10 times that I tow, and the cost savings compared to the automatic sliders it's well worth the $$

I recently purchased the Reese 16,000 5th wheel slider hitch and have had absolutely no problems. The hitch slides easily and locks securely in both the travel and manuevering positions. Just remember to utilize your RV's brakes when sliding the hitch. I would definitely buy this hitch again.
