We bought this size tank to use with an on demand tankless water heater. We do not
have a hot water tank in our pop-up, so we o...pted for the portable water heater. The
problem was that we did not want to keep taking off the 20# tank, so we bought this
smaller version that is easy to carry and place where it is needed. We will also use this
around the house for pet washing, etc.
I've been wanting to get one of these 1 gallon tanks but the local stores priced these
tanks over twice as much as a 5 gallon ta...nk. This tank at CW was a great buy and I got
free shipping. Unlike the 1 gallon tanks available locally, this tank has a wide base so it is
less likely to tip over. After receiving it, I ordered 2 more.
I bought this for my husband for Christmas. I really like that the base is very wide. It's lightweight and easy to take in and out... of the camper and move around the campsite. Much more convenient than using 1 pound bottles that don't last very long. Just a little
note though...It's actually 1.5 gallons. We filled it from empty twice at two different
locations and both places charged us for 1.5 gallons. I don't see this as a problem
Although the tank is a great size and easy to carry it does have a sound made by the tank
float valve that is very upsetting. Wh...en the tank is being transported there is a constant
knocking sound made like metal hitting metal inside the tank. It stops when the tank is in a
We used to buy the disposable propane tanks for our grill and Coleman camp stove. No
more. We purchased this tank, it came withi...n a couple of days and now we're all set. We
bought a splitter and can use both our stove and grill at the same time. We can refill as
needed and we won't be adding to the landfill.
This tank is great for my portable grill. I was useing the 1 lb. bottles which are a pane if you cook anything that takes time. I ...also find that this tank last alot longer than 5 bottles and the cost savings are fantastic. Would definetly recommend for similar use.
I saw one of these years ago. When I went back to buy one they were gone and the store would not order more. I have used these for... Coleman stoves and the results are great. I am about to pack it deep into the boundary Waters on a ten day trip. Work great in a deer stand on those cold winter days.
Great for small grills, while at home or traveling. Light weight and portable, but with enough fuel to really power a grill. Campi...ng World was the only place I found this at a great price. I bought two.
I use this tank with a small hose for my O-Grill brand
portable grill (orange in color). It cost so much less then
purchasing 16...oz green cylinders. It basically takes the
place of (4-1/2) 16oz cylinders and cost a lot less to fill.
Me and my son Bobby went on a camping trip and this came in handy many times, I'll
tell you what! This cylinder is very well con...structed and able to hold a decent amount
of propane! I actually work for a company that sells propane and propane accessories,
and I can honestly say that we have nothing on par to this product, I'll tell you what! I'm
going to recommend this to my buddy Dale in the extermination business, who also
does a lot of camping.
Wow!! I made a good choice when I bought this one. I use it for my outside portable
water heater and for the grill at home. It's... easy to handle and I also bought the footing
base so that it won't move around. If you buy one of these make sure it has a recent
date on the cylinder because they can only be used for I believe 8 or 12 years. Also in
case my propane tanks on my RV goes empty this is a life saver.
I bought this tank to fuel my Camp Chef griddle. I wanted a
tank that was smaller in size for easy storage in my motor
home. Thi...s tank is nicely sized and runs the griddle for a
long time. It lived completely up to my expectations. The
Packing job by the Camping World shipping department was
pretty poor, though. It showed up with the top and bottom
rings both bent up pretty good.
If the firepit uses a Type 1 ACME connection for an OPD valve(like SKU#24033, yes this tank can be used as well. How long this tank will last depends on the BTU capability of the firepit. According to the NPGA, 1 gallon of propane is 91,502 BTUs. As an example, SKU#60217 is a table fire pit with a 45,000 BTU burner. 1 gallon of propane has an approximate runtime of 2.03 hours when the firepit is at maximum burn.

This refillable propane tank will work on a grill with a typical regulator with ACME nut fitting. While the size of the tank has changed compared to a typical 20# model, the valve is the still the same.

No, OPD valves required on LP tanks like this have an internal mechanism that keeps the contents from leaking out without an appropriate hose connected even with the wheel in open position.

Could this tank be used with a Lehr propane powered outboard motor?

We have a 5 hp motor now using 1lb canister. our boat is small and has limited space to store a large/heavy tank. One comment made said it makes a noise when traveling -clanging -metal on metal. Would this be true if it were in a moving boat?
Yes, this refillable tank can be used as Lehr only states to use a DOT approved LP tank, which this tank from Worthington fulfills. Since this unit is an all steel construction, it will make noise if bumped or tapped, not to mention heavy. As an alternative you can look into DOT approved composite construction tanks by Ragasco, click here for a product lineup. At one time we carried composite tanks by Lite Cylinder Company but only have all steel tanks from Worthington at this time.

Does this 1 gallon tank have the same male connection fitting as the standard 5 gallon tanks?
The Weber 100 normally takes the disposable cylinders, to use this tank instead, the hose you need comes in either a 5 foot or 12 foot length. The 5 foot hose is item 30338, the 12 foot hose is item 30342.
