What is InvisiBrake?
InvisiBrake is a fully-automatic, progressive supplemental braking system that uses the electrical connections already in place on your towed vehicle (the towed vehicle’s electrical harness) to brake when you brake the motorhome — the same electrical signal that activates the towed vehicle’s brake lights also activates InvisiBrake.

Features

Completely out of sight — InvisiBrake is so small, it can usually be mounted under the driver’s seat, under the rear seat, behind interior panels or in the trunk, without sacrificing any of the vehicle’s usable space.

Progressive braking — When you apply continuous braking force, so does InvisiBrake — the longer you apply the brakes in the motorhome, the harder your towed vehicle will brake (InvisiBrake will not skid your tires).

Bypasses the 12-volt outlet and charges your battery — InvisiBrake connects directly to the towed vehicle’s battery and constantly charges the battery during towing (InvisiBrake will never drain the battery).

Two-stage motorhome monitor — InvisiBrake includes an LED monitor for a visual reference of braking activity; an audible alert at the motorhome will warn you if the brakes have been on for too long.

Activates only when the motorhome’s brake lights illuminate — no false braking!

Works in virtually any towed vehicle — including those with 'active' (or 'continuous power assist') braking systems.

Easily adjusts to individual braking preferences

Includes an emergency break away system

We used a Brake Buddy for five years and hated it. The set up was awkward and complex. And in the Hill Country of Texas, the brakes would activate frequently on downhill to uphill transitions, causing the tow car tires to burn rubber. We just modified a 2009 Honda Odyssey for towing and included the Invisibrake System. It is wonderful. You never need to think about it. If the umbilical is connected, then the auxiliary braking system is all set to go. Turn on your RV parking lights and the system also charges the tow car battery to avoid those painful dead car moments. And because it is directly linked to the RV's brakes, you never have to be concerned that it will activate on its own when it should not. With a 15 second interval limit, the system avoids overheating of the brakes, while still giving you the control you need over your vehicles. As the name says it is completely invisible. Love it.

We purchased this unit along with our tow package. I wanted the simplest hook up possible. No disconnecting batteries, or inserting & removing mechanical brake boxes etc... This could not be simpler. The installers put an automatic battery cut off switch and a power feed from the RV. One single wire plug-in and turn the lights on in the RV (parking or headlights) and we have automatic braking on our toad. The unit has a breakaway safety cable as well, so if you should separate for any reason the brakes on the toad will come on.There is also a light installed on the dashboard which shows when the brakes are on. After 20-30 seconds of braking (IE: Stopped at traffic lights) the brakes disengage.They hid the box so well, I don't even know where it is yet.

Very nice! Sharp folks put it upside down under the package shelf so it takes up nearly no room. It is like it is not there as it just plain works. Once in a while the toe of my shoe catches on the part that is actually on the brake.
