How Anti-Sway Bars Work
Anti-sway bars link the suspension and the frame, using the weight of the axle as a brace against the chassis to distribute weight more evenly. Pressure against one side of the coach from wind, passing trucks or weight shift is countered by the bar.
Why RSS Anti-Sway Bars Are Better:
- Larger diameter than factory bars—Every 1/8" increase in bar diameter increases resistance to sway by 30 percent. RSS bars are 1/4"-3/8" larger in diameter than most factory anti-sway bars.
- High-grade 4140 "chromoly" steel construction—RSS bars are made of a chrome and molybdenum alloy which is considerably stronger and more durable than the 1020 standard spring steel used in many factory sway bars.
- Polyurethane bushings—More durable than factory rubber bushings, polyurethane is impervious to gasoline, oil and ozone corrosion, is more resistant to abrasion and won’t buckle under heavier loads.
Each RSS anti-sway bar is designed for a custom fit on a specific motorhome, pickup, van or SUV chassis. Kits include: the anti-sway bar; bushings and lubricant; installation hardware and instructions. Specify year, make and model when ordering, including chassis type on motorhomes. Mfr. limited 1 year warranty to original purchaser.
