Let me first say that this ice maker worked great for the first 7 uses. During the second season of use (this year) it would not reset after it shut off after running out of water. We had the unit less than a year. We did not purchase the product protection plan. Apparently, there is no manufacturers warranty and from what I could find, no where to purchase parts. So basically, this is a throw-away unit. The next unit we buy, I will make sure the manufacturer stands behind it, or I won't buy.

Got this to go on a 10 day trip to the race in Bristol but gave it a test run here in Florida over a long weekend. Worked great here in FL and did not have to buy ice on the 10 day trip. It does not store ice and does not advertise to do so, so keep some coolers handy and some bags to store in the freezer. If you manage it well it will keep you in ice as well as plenty to share. The collection tray allows the ice to melt back into the refill so you can have continuous ice but the collection bin holds plenty. Keep an eye out as we got ours on sale!!

Money well spent. We're having so much fun making ice in the house, that we haven't moved the unit out to the RV. Not sure it makes 30lbs per day, but we haven't tried running it for a 24 hour period. Love the different sizes, large for the cooler box, small for drinks, medium for whatever. It's nice that we don't have to fill the water reservoir after each cycle. Fill water, makes several cycles of ice, it allows us to leave for a bit, then empty the basket when we return. We're drinking more water now, since we have unlimited ice. Buy one, you won't be sorry.
