Safely flush out your sewer hose and holding tank after dumping by sending a blast of fresh water into the waste tank to remove remaining debris. Anti-siphon valve installs on fresh water faucet to prevent contamination of fresh water system. Clear ABS plastic helps you see when tank and hose are flushed clean.
After reading the other reviews, I had to jump in on this one. I purchased this product and love it. I will note, you need your ...black water tank near where you connect the Hydro flush. My black water tank is close to the connection and has one turn in it. What I do is make sure the "jet" of water is facing the turn so the water is forced into the tank at the highest velocity. If you do not do this, the product does not work well. I discovered this by doing it wrong. Second, let the water flush for several minutes and do it several times. It may not be a perfect system, but it is much easier than anything else I have tried.
This product definately flushes the sewer hoses great. Especially when the valves are closed. If you're looking to do a complete j...ob on your tank you might want to look into something else. Even so, I still have use this product doubled with an internal flushing system. I did have one problem with this product. The plastic threads where you connect the hose pops off with extream pressure. I use a metal in-line valve between the product and the hose and never use the valve it comes with. Seems to work better this way.
I have been using the Valterra RV Hydro Flush for almost a year now. It has become a necessity for Black Tank dumping. I now use i...t every time I dump as it has found permanent residence in my RV sewer kit. My Black Tank is Approximately 18" from the termination valve and has only a slight bend in the pipe. Therefore it works Great for me. It has impressive pressure and seems to clean the remaining sludge well. You only need a garden hose while dumping to utilize this great tool. The RV Hydro Flush is clear allowing you to see what’s going on. No more guessing if your finished dumping! After you've dumped your tank now just flush until the return is clear. And with the included anti-siphon valve there's no worry about contaminating the fresh water system. This is a Great product and is recommended to anyone!
The RV Hydro Flush with Anti-Siphon Valve does help in keeping your tanks clean, but does not do the job as thoroughly as I would ...like. I will say that it worked much better on my Springdale RV – because the sewer drain was a very short straight run. On my Sunnybrook the sewer drain is long and not straight and the results showed little cleaning. Regardless of you RV, I feel the Quickie Flush is a much better choice for cleaning your black water tank.
We just bought our first railer, and bought this attachment to go with it. We did not use this on the maiden voyage because we did... not have a separate hose from the fresh water hose. Anyway, we flushed the black tank the old fashioned way, the first time around, and thought we did a good job. Well, we bought a gray water hose to use with this, and were amazed at all the debris what was still in our black tank! I don't know how many times we flushed, and still the debris kept coming. The same thing happened with our second use of this product. I felt it got our black tank really clean. The best $20 we ever spent for an attachment for our trailer. I would recommend this to anyone. It was easy to use, and it is very handy that the pipe is clear, so you know when your tank is clean!
I read the other reviews about this product, and the reviewer blasting this product had some good points. However, I do not feel ...it is as bad as they believe. First, they tell you it is only effective if there is a straight shot to the black tank. After using this product, I understand why ( I have a straight shot). Basically, it sends a blast of water straight up the drain. It must bounce around in there a bit, and it drains. Stuff definitely comes out when you use this, and it took some time to get clear water to drain.
However, I do not believe that this is the best product out there for this, due to the fact that you cannot direct the stream, nor can you use it to fill the tank (it does not have the valve the Flush King has). I have ordered the Quickie Flush because I believe it will give a better clean. However, I will keep this as well, mostly for the clear elbow that lets you know when the tank is clean.
I brought this item along with me during my first trip in my new trailer. I drained the black tank. I then hooked up this device, ...per the instructions. I turned on the faucet, and moments later watched things come pouring out no person would want lingering around in their tank. I am glad I bought this Hydro-Flush. It's not a gimmick, it's seems well made, it's easy to use, and it's a must have if one cares about proper RV sanitation.
I''ve read the unfavorable reviews, and can only say that my experience has been quite different.
First, this device is not des...igned to remove blockages, as one reviewer complained, nor does it claim to. It does, however, pressure-wash your tank very effectively and keep it clean, which goes a long way toward preventing blockages. HydroFlush cleans tanks much better and wastes less water than the old "fill it with water and dump it" method. I also find it both more effective and MUCH easier to use than a toilet wand.
Yes, it's more effective when there's a straight shot into the tank from the dump valve--but even when there's plumbing in the way, its powerful stream of water gets crud out of the tank that would not come out with a normal dump. I know this because I've owned rigs with both types of setups, and have used my HydroFlush with every dump. I would not be without it, if only because of the way it helps keep my tank sensors clean.
The only method of tank cleaning that's more effective than HydroFlush is a nozzle permanently mounted in the tank wall itself. But that requires an installation that involves drilling holes through the side of each tank. HydroFlush is inexpensive, effective and requires no surgery on your tanks. That makes it a no-brainer in my book.
We have tried other ways to flush the black water tank and so far this is the best thing we have tried. It's wonderful, especially... if you have good water pressure, the tank is thoroughly cleaned and no residue left over to 'smell' up the camper when not it's not in use. I would highly recommend trying this before spending lots of money on more expensive systems.
bought this before we got our new camper we had trouble with the
sensors we used it once and all sensors showed empty . we boug...ht
our nre camper which has the internal flusher ( in tank) but after i use
that i still use the hydro and still get more out . also nice to see when
water runs clear no guessing
I've used the Hydro Flush several times now, and I have no complaints. I have found the high pressure spray very effective in rem...oving stubborn waste. In fact, the spray is so powerful, it will actually push quite a bit of water and keep it up in the tank until you shut it off and let it drain. I usually spray the water back into the tank 3 or 4 times and it seems to do a good job cleaning out the tank. When I am done, I spray a little water back into the tank and close it off for the next outing. I can see the benefit of having the gate of the Flush King, but if you just can't bring yourself to spend that much, grab this one.
I love this power flush. I've used this for 5 times and it rinses/cleans
out the tank very well. Being clear it let's you see wh...en the tank is
empty. I empty the tank then flush it out 4 or 5 times. I run the fresh
water for about 30 seconds each time.
This works best if the drain pipe from the black water tank is in a
straight line with the pipe outlet. I've tried to use it on my gray water
tank but it is not a straight shot into it so it dosen't work as well
because of the elbow.
Best of all no more dragging dripping hoses to the pot.
First time I used the Hydro Flush, it did a great job on cleaning my
tanks. I was unaware of how much stuff can stay behind in ...your
tanks. I was having a problem with my black water tank gauge
sticking but since I use the Hydro flush the problem has corrected it
I've used my Hydro Flush 45 Degree for two years, and each time I
need to dump, I'm grateful to the designers and manufacturer f...or
making what can be an unpleasant chore into a feeling of task well
done. Its connections are solid and leakproof, and the "blaster", as I
call it, does its job perfectly, resulting in clear running water after only
two or three 2-minute "blasts."
I have used this thing for two years now. I have a straight shot from the drain into the black water tank so it works like a cham...p. It is surprising just how much waste is left in the tank after an initial dump. The Hydro Flush cleans it right out. The only time I have had a problem is at campgrounds with low water pressure. For those, I used the Johnny Chock.
So we bought an older 1986 trailer and used it for the weekend. It has a 20 Gal black tank and filled it in 2 days... So I bought ...the hydro flush on the next trip and was able to flush out the tank....Have used it 4 or 5 times and each time it knocks more out....I have to say it was some of the best money spent...LOVE it
We decided to purchase this unit as it was more economical than the flush king
model, only difference is that it has no valve to ...stop flow, tested out and it seemed to work well, instructions say that pipng should not have extream bends. Our tank is 45 deg so not a problem, happy to have an easy way to flush without a hassle.
Have to get a new one after four years I put it in crooked and broke a tang, it still works
no leak but want to be safe. Camped... twice without it, got one and can't imagine
emptying without it. Flushes out the tank very well. You can see when the tank is done
emptying so no messes disconnecting. I close the gate to the tank and flush the hose
out at the end. Doesn't back flush the grey water side but I think there must be a oneway
gate in the way. We have a 23FB Jayco.
didn't seem to work very well, it might be due to the 90 degree angle design of my tanks on my 5th wheel. The clean plastic is nic...e to ensure the tank is finished draining. Didn't help fix the false reading on my grey tank.
We noticed every time we dumped that our black tank would read 2/3 full even after it appeared empty. I had heard about this prod...uct from a friend and decided to try it. I was extremely impressed how well it flushed the tank. I was able to see when the water ran clear. It only took 2 flushes to get the tank completely clean and now our gauge
reads "empty" every time we dump and flush with this product. This was well designed and works well.
Love the hydro flush with the anti-syphon valve. The gush of water going into the waste water tank really cleans. I let the wate...r run till the tank is full and you can see it start coming through, then I close the shutoff valve, and you will be amazed of how much is still left in the tank after you've drained it. The first time I used it I must have flushed it at least 20 times and it would just keep pulling the waste out. I was amazed of how much was in my tanks even though I'd rinse them out every time I'd get home. Now the
second time we use it, it only took me 3 good fill up flushes, but I did it 5 times
anyway==ha, wanted to make sure. Love this product and its reasonably priced.

I decided to lift the dump hose so the water will fill the holding tank vs. water coming out as fast as going in. Really clears o...ut tank, amazed what it brings out, like being able to see when water is clear. Still have problem getting gauges to show empty (including grey water). Have been stationary for 4 months, figure when the trailer is on the road, it will move the float around (a neighber said they use floats instead of electronic gauge -I don't know. Either way, the swaying on the road will help). He saw
me using this, bought one and loves it. This has to beat carrying a hose into the
bathroom and being able to see what is coming out is great.
In previous review I stated I liked it but was having to lift drain hose to get tanks to fill.
Went to Camping World and saw a ...dump valve that attaches to the little numbs on dump
cap if orig. dump valve breaks. I attach it after this flush piece to allow the tanks to fill
without having to hold dump hose up, now it works even greater, can go inside rv to
check height of fill before dumping. Since each piece is separate, I don't have to pitch the
whole thing if 1 part breaks. Love it even more with this extra part (haven't owned Flush
King so can't compare items).
This item works so well. It has helped me clear up a mess in almost no time at all. It took a few hours, but it was easy to do an...yone can do this job. Thank you for this item, it ended my nightmare.
I have used this on two trips so far. Basically after draining the black water tank I run this
for several minutes and you can s...ee the extra materials that had settled come out. A clear
elbow is a must and the flushing feature was a great addition. Would recommend.
OK, you think your tank is clean?? Ha, use this thing one time and you'll know how nasty your tank is. It flushes out
all the hea...vy stuff that sticks to the bottom of the tank, especially when you dump over and over at the same site
without the stirring of travel. Flush 2 or 3 times and the water comes out clear. We need half the chemicals now and
everything smells sweet. Glad I got the 45 degree because the 90 would have put my connection way too close to the ground.
This item works exactly as advertised, our holding tank design is what is flawed! We are working on a modification that we think w...ill help us, but this would have been great for the last 5 RVs we have owned.
We just experienced our second clogged black water tank while on vacation. Figuring there was a cheaper solution to calling a repa...ir service, we're VERY new to RVing, I tried this
item and after a couple of minutes gone was the clog. It now replaces our original clear elbow so that we're ready if this issue pops up again.
Wish I would have bought this a year ago when we got our camper. Does an incredible job
of cleaning out waste that otherwise wou...ld sit in the tank. Best to turn out the water for 10-
20 seconds then turn off and let drain. I do this 2-3 times until water runs clear.
I used this for the first time on a camping trip the weekend. After emptying the tank I ran the hose through and pumped water in. ...A surprising amount of nastiness came flooding back out. I found it best to run it for a few seconds, then stop to let it drain, and repeat. It cleared out a large amount of material that would otherwise have sat in the tank. I plan to use this every time we camp.
Such a relief to know your tank is as clean as it can be with proof by being able to see it
gone. The backflow nozzle makes it s...o easy to send clean water back in and flush even
the last little bit of yuck away. Everything's handled on the outside location with no extra
wands or sprayer to contend with. Worth every penny and very easy to use with no leaking.
This is the best accessory I have bought for my camper. I flush out the black tank every time I finish camping. Sometimes the camp...er sits outdoors for two or three months and there is never a sewer smell in the camper when I open it up. Never have to use chemicals or anything else to keep the camper smelling fresh.
Easy to install. Works great. The two way flush is great. Clear elbow to see if flush was good enough. Downfall is you need a junk... hose to hook up and takes a little more time when at the dump station. Don't like to make people wait on me.
It is recommended to remove it when not being used.
