I used this for the first time on a camping trip the weekend. After emptying the tank I ran the hose through and pumped water in. A surprising amount of nastiness came flooding back out. I found it best to run it for a few seconds, then stop to let it drain, and repeat. It cleared out a large amount of material that would otherwise have sat in the tank. I plan to use this every time we camp.

We just experienced our second clogged black water tank while on vacation. Figuring there was a cheaper solution to calling a repair service, we're VERY new to RVing, I tried this item and after a couple of minutes gone was the clog. It now replaces our original clear elbow so that we're ready if this issue pops up again.

OK, you think your tank is clean?? Ha, use this thing one time and you'll know how nasty your tank is. It flushes out all the heavy stuff that sticks to the bottom of the tank, especially when you dump over and over at the same site without the stirring of travel. Flush 2 or 3 times and the water comes out clear. We need half the chemicals now and everything smells sweet. Glad I got the 45 degree because the 90 would have put my connection way too close to the ground.
