Customer Reviews For 30-Amp RV Surge Protector & Circuit Analyzer

Worked great at my seasonal site - April 06, 2009

I purchased this RV Surge protector to use with a travel trailer at seasonal campsite in 2008. The unit worked great and fit the pedestal electrical outlet. The cover of the pedestal did not close Completely due to the body of the unit plus the type of cable I used to connect with the trailer. It was closed enough to keep out any excess moisture. My camp has a newer electrical setup and we have not experienced any issues but I do feel better having the protector in place and will be using it again when camp reopens in April. I would recommend some form of surge protection for any RV or trailer whether traveling or seasonal. Should I upgrade in the future to a newer trailer, I may consider a full unit surge protector that would be built-in or permanent to the trailer.

Doesn't fit boxes - December 10, 2008

We purchased this Surge Protector a year ago and have been at numerous resorts and parks. Unfortunately, the design does not allow the unit to plug into most electrical boxes. The outlets are indented inside the box and due to the protector's body, it will not plug flush into the outlet. We have been unable to use it 99% of the time. We have considered purchasing a 30 amp male and female end (with a low hanging length of wire) to plug the unit into; therefore, it could extend past the box. However, it may not be sealed from the elements. The only reason I gave it two stars is because the few times we've been able to use it, we might have had protection.
