BAL PRODUCTS div of NORCO IND
Level and stabilize your trailer or 5th wheel with the best manual leveling system money can buy.
Leveling jacks provide leveling and stabilizing for travel trailers and fifth wheels. Two models extend from 4" to 23-3/4", and one model extends to 30". Given the broad range of ground-to-frame clearance, there's a BAL leveling jack for almost every RV.

  • The Deluxe Leveling Jack includes a patented roller-bearing assembly for smooth and easy screw operation.

  • The Standard Leveling Jack provides a sandwich construction bearing design to assist in screw operation.

  • Tooth gear design of the scissor arms ensures straight line vertical extension and retraction.

  • Double lead, acme thread drive screw is designed so the jack raises quickly and the crank handle turns easily.

  • When placed in the handle receiver, the crank handle can be easily rotated, even when tilted.

  • Rust-inhibitive E-coating on the jack and shiny zinc coating on the crank handle ensure long life.

  • Mounting hardware is included; jacks may be welded to trailer frame.

    Great Replacement for Original

These stabilizing jacks are a VAST improvement over those originally installed on my RV. The bolts are bigger and stronger as are the jacks themselves. The original jacks were thin and light. These jacks are twice as heavy and of stronger material.

We had to replace the left side jacks on the camper because they folded the first day we brought the camper home. After replacing them with these jacks we realized how much better these ones were built and replaced the right side as well.

I bent one of my rear jacks and decided to replace both rear jacks with the BAL jacks. A noticeable improvement over the OEM jacks. Seem very well built and solid. I liked them so much that I am going to replace the front jacks with these.

My son decided the trailer could go over a high dirt mound and it did, the trailer jacks didn't. Had to replace both rear jacks and these were an exact match, no problem at all putting these on. Would recommend extending them for installation as it makes it easier than trying to hold them up. Trailer is a Forest River toy hauler so they are heavy duty but I don't want cheaper, flimsy ones when it's parked and there's wind.

The jacks went on super easy in place of the junk ones on my 2010 puma den. The only problem I have is with the crank handle. They look really good. They work really good. The only problem is the thru bolt is not strong enough and breaks & the socket falls off the end. I purchased two sets of jacks & had an extra handle which saved my butt. Was able to repair the unit myself. Needs something heavier.

I did not realize how big and heavy these scissor jacks were when I ordered them. I wanted trailer stabilizing jacks. However these jacks are stronger, heavier and bigger than my other trailer jacks and I can not use them.. The specs in the write-up do not describe the item very well. The description matches that of the smaller jack. The jacks are heavy to handle and carry around. They had been shipped in their normal store retail box. When the jacks arrived, they had broken thru and were coming out of the store retail box which they had been shipped in due to their weight . Only recommend them if you want really heavy jacks to carry a heavy load..

The set of jacks that came with the camper were not very sturdy and were exposed to damage when moving the RV. I replaced the with new jacks and added the Jack saver system to insure minimal damage and long life. The system has proven to be of better quality than the factory units and gives me more flexibility when moving the RV and setting up at a new location.

look well made, but crank is next to useless

system seems well built, happy that it is USA made, I bought 2 sets. but whoever designed the hand crank, should go back to school. there is so little leverage, that for me it is pretty useless. I am average guy. I can't imagine, weaker folk, being able to use these cranks. I wound up using the lug wrench from my mini van. I suppose I will go out and buy a larger lug wrench. reason for 3 stars, it will cost me more for a wrench. otherwise I would have gave 4.5 stars.

    High Quality Jacks

I bought these as replacements for another set of jacks which were OEM on a 2002 trailer I had purchased. These are much more rugged and were easy to install without removing existing brackets which were welded to the frame. The handle has a socket end which allows the handle to be moved in a 360 degree circle to make using it easier. i.e., the handle has allowances so you do not have to get on the ground directly in line with the nut. You can bend over or move side to side to get into the best position to crank the jack.

Scissor jacks stronger than my electric jacks.

I have a 38 foot fifth wheel and have electric jacks on both ends but found that still had a shake when people walking in the unit. I installed a set of scissor jacket near the rear of the unit and this helped the shaking greatly. Installation is easy and the operation is smooth until too much road grime gets in the screw portion. The jacks have more strength in lifting the rig than the rear electric jacks. Overall a great device and helped greatly.

We have a 21' Starcraft Antigua Travel Trailer with foldout bunks on each end. Lots of rockin' and rollin' when someone walks around. I installed (easy) one on each corner. We just got back from a weekend of camping, and not a jostle was to be had. FANTASTIC!

I bought two sets for our 18 foot travel trailer. Installed a set on back and just placed the other set under the front. The camper was very stable, no shaking from jumping even. The only problem I had was when installing them. I used the drill bits the instructions called for and broke two of the bolts that came with them. It was not hard to remove the broke bolt and bought new bolts and nuts.

These worked great, the set of jacks that came with my 21ft Dutchman collapsed under a little pressure. I purchased these jacks, they extend easily and close just as well, easy to install. They make leveling my camper a whole lot easier. I plan on purchasing a second set for the front end of my camper.

I'd like to know whats in the mounting kit. These jacks would work best for me if they had a pin to center and hold them in place under my bumper or frame so that I could store them when I'm not using them.

    Can't use Speed Socket

    September 21, 2009
I love this jack system. It works GREAT and holds the weight just fine. I use it on my 32ft. Pioneer travel trailer. HOWEVER, make sure you get the one that you can use a speed socket drill on it if you want to. If you enlarge this picture, you can see this set has the 'little hooked finger insert' and not a regular 'socket' feature. You just have to use the handle provided is all.

    BAL Scissor Jacks

    February 09, 2009
I purchased two sets (for front and rear) for my Coachmen travel trailer. When they say each jack supports 7500 lbs., believe them! The first time using them I was raising the left front and the entire front of the camper was raised by just the one jack. They are very sturdy and easy to use. I use the enclosed handle instead of the speed bit for a drill and the jacks offer no resistance at all. I highly recommend them.

I have this type of jack and while it works very well for my 31 ft travel trailer, I can not use those 'speed' bits used on power drills. If you look closely at this model it has a little hooked finger like jack handle instead of a 'hex head' so you have to use the handle provided. So be careful which one you have installed on your coach!

I had bought a set of inexpensive (cheap) leveling jacks for my wobbly Class C and was not at all happy with them. On a trip to CW I was talking with one of the floor people about the jacks and he recommended the BAL's. I bought one set as a trial, set them up on my next trip and used them on the back of the Class C. The difference was noticeable. They're much higher quality than the affordable jacks I had used before, no sway or wobble, the jack handle worked very well, although I highly recommend the Speed Socket and I have a high ground clearance rig and they are very stable at high extension. I've used them for several months now and will have them welded in place. I've been able to use just the one set on the back on my 20 footer and am very pleased with the quality of workmanship.

The scissor jacks was the best thing that we got for our old pop up camper. Before we had them the camper would rock and make noise when someone would move or get up at night. But with them that was all gone. We have now upgraded to a travel trailer and had them put on that with the same outcome. The trailer is very stable and is very easy to level. I would reccomend this product to anyone.

I have 2 sets on my TT, both sides front and back, and they are so easy to use. I rigged up a portable drill to screw them out, and I put a single 2X6 board under them and zip, i've leveled and stabilized my rig. I only with they were a little wider, as in some cases, I have to use more boards under them so they aren't extended too far. If you do, it will level but won't stabilize, as they are too skinny. Otherwise, on close to level or low ground, they are great.

Anyone who had problems with the earlier version of these jacks (the kind that used a J-hook to drive them) need only make a quick call to BAL and they will send you out the new style solid hex drive shafts and wrench. I bent one of mine (I did a dummy and let the trailer slide forward) and BAL was great in shipping out new parts free of charge. You can't go wrong with these leveling jacks!

I bought 4 of these jack’s and it was the best thing I could have bought. There fast to use and very convenient also there permanently so I don’t have to keep up with them or have to worry about loosing them or storing them if when I buy a new trailer I’ll make sure there on there or I’ll put them on it myself, trailer very stable no more rocking. Thanks a lot.
