Description

XYLEM - FLOW CONTROL INC 4624
The performance and reliability you've always wished for in a pump can now be yours.

Flojet's unique Variable Speed Drive system needs no pressure switch. Its microprocessor provides precise speed control to match the system demand. As more water is needed, the motor drives the pump for more flow. As the demand lessens, the motor slows to a super-quiet speed, yet maintains a steady pressure. The result is an unbelievably home-like flow. This smooth performance from no flow to maximum flow is sensor controlled, without any cycling - so an accumulator tank is not needed. The system is free of pulsation, water hammer and temperature swings. Amp draw reduces as flow reduces to conserve energy, ranging from less than 1 amp to a max.of 10 amps. Self priming up to 10'. Automatically adjusts to 12V or 24V input. Thermal overload protection with auto restart. USA.

Great unit!

This new pump has exceeded my expectations! The plumbing hooked right up to my existing hoses with no problem. Although it is a little bit wider than my other old pump, the hoses still hooked up. All I had to do was to make 2 new mounting holes. Very quiet & much more flow now. I do not know about the battery draw, but I am sure it is on par or better than the old style.

Right out-of-the-box I could tell this was a solidly built pump unlike the one that came originally with my camper. Great constant pressure without the pulsing effect, would definitely purchase again.

Sensor VSD 4.5gpm pump

After repeated failures with the other brand's 5.7 gpm I bought this 4.5 gpm pump, assuming I would get similar performance. The output is disappointing, but I found the reason in the fine print ...in spite of the high gpm the psi is low compared to what I am used to. In the end, the output is very much like the standard 2.8 gpm pump. It appears to work fine, and doesn't run as long to do the job, but if I had it to do over I would just use the old 2.8 gpm. I have kept as a backup.

pump is 10 years old and still running

This pump is a BUY. I have had one of these pumps in my motor home for just over 10 years. It has always worked great. The pump has been inadvertently run dry for an extended period, been very cold(freezing), high voltage, low voltage and it continues to operate correctly. Be reminded to clean the included filter/screen. Also, keep a couple extra o-rings on hand for the push-in hose barbs/fittings. This is the only maintenance the pump has had. O-rings every 2-3 years, clean the filter/screen once a year. I have been full timing now for 5 years. Much of the time without a water connection, so the pump has provided water pressure the majority of the time. I just purchased a second identical pump to have on hand in the event of a failure by the 10+ tear old pump. Only reason not 5 stars- The fitting o-rings will eventually need to be replaced. Should be a better system of making connections to the pump. Other wise, BUY IT!!

Very silent...yet powerful

Purchased to replace the OEM pump in our 2008 Komfort Travel Trailer. The old OEM pump was becoming increasingly noisy, vibrating and pressure was fading. We were immediately impressed with the quiet sound and the excellent pressure, even if the Kitchen and bathroom faucets were turned on. Flushing the toilet is also no longer annoying. My brother-n-law helped me install it and he liked it so much he was going to purchase one for his 5th Wheel.

What a difference...

I bought this pump to replace the OEM pump in our Trail Sport 25S. Although it was only 2 years old, the OEM pump was loud enough to wake the dead. I tried padding the lines, re-positioning the pump, adding flexible lines between connectors... everything. I installed the Sensor VSD and consider it one of the best investments I've made in the trailer. Is it totally silent? Of course not. But nearly so. The only time I even notice it running is when a faucet is turned on full and the pump is running at its highest speed. Even flushing the toilet is no longer annoying with the OEM pump rattling away after the flush to build up pressure. Installation was easy - I used all the original connections and wiring from the OEM pump. No add ons, no rewiring with heavier fuses... it was, well, a snap. Granted, I think the pump is pricey - overpriced in fact - but I would do it again and I recommend it to anyone who is tired of the vibration and rattle of their OEM pump.

Time for a New One

I have liked the operation of this pump - its quieter than most, more even water flow - no pulsing but the body began leaking all on its own and a rebuild kit is more expensive than a new pump! I think this one has only been in service 3-4 years - maybe less. Glad they are on sale now.

Bought this pump to replace an identical pump that was 11 years old. Very easy quick connect with my existing plumbing since it was an identical pump. Not too loud. Excellent pressure and volume whether at the sink faucets, taking a shower or flushing the toilet.

Even though this H2O pump is the most $$ in the inventory of choices, I opted to purchase this item because of its highest gpm rating and other important features not found in other pumps. I felt I couldn't give this product a 5 rating because the instructions (sealed inside the carton), state one needs to now go to Radio Shack and purchase an additional (cheap) item to connect w/the electrical supply of the RV. I felt this was an unexpected inconvenience and an item that the manufacturer could have easily supplied with the pump, especially given the $$ of the product.

Powerful & Reliable

This pump replaces the same make and model I had before. The old one failed after years and years of faithful service. It pumps as if you are connected to campground water supply. Great for shower or washing. In my coach you can hear it pump on high demand use if you listen but not a bother to me. It has variable speed so with little water use you can hardly tell it is pumping. I'd buy it again next time.

Installation Problems

This is a very good pump, quiet and efficient but it is anything but a direct replacement part. The pump itself is slightly taller and longer and the fittings are larger in diameter than the original so reworking the existing waterlines is necessary and in my case very difficult due to the pumps location under the bath vanity. Be prepared for a challenge.

I spent the last few years trying to make my water system quiet. I tried all the usual things and suggestions and I still had some hammering which drove us nuts. I install the VSD and I was blown away ! VIrtually silent !! It is a bit pricey but I would highly recommend this pump.

Not real quiet but way better than stock pump

I read all of the reviews for each pump that Camping World sells and researched this product on the manufacturers website before buying. Overall I am very pleased that I bought this product and upgraded the stock pump in my trailer. Get the 4.5 gpm if you are going to spend the money. On our first trip we had the kitchen faucet running wide open and someone was taking a shower at the same time. Water pressure kept constant at a very steady rate and everyone was happy. Reality check - Although I will say this pump is quieter than the stock pump which would cycle on/off to deliver water and bang the water lines, it is not that quiet. You definitely know when it is on. The advantage is that it runs smoothly and ramps up rpms as the water demand increases. No more on/off banging. Also be aware of the increased power draw on your batteries. We ended up having to run our batteries down pretty low one day because of generator hour rules in the park, and the pump would not run even though we had lights and heat. I would definitely buy again for a future RV if I have the chance.

I was leary of this unit because of some of the reviews. However, it was very easy to install in my Keystone 294RLS trailer and it is very quiet. No hammering and much more pressure than the stock unit. To top it all off, it is pulling water through 30 ft of pipe from an outside tank. Needless to say, I a well satisfied with this pump.

Smooth Running and Very Quiet, Again

I just replaced the stock water pump in my Airstream Land Yacht Gas 30 SO Motorhome with the Sensor VSD 4.5. It runs smoothly and is very, very quiet at low flow. The stock pump hammered any time we turned on the water, even at miniscule flow. All pumps are loud at high flow, but, who runs water in an RV like at home, unless you are always at full hook-up sites? The most important time for quiet running is in the middle of the night when you need to flush the toilet or get a drink of water without waking up your spouse. This is where you appreciate the lack of water hammer noise common to so many stock / cheaper pumps. This is the second time I am installing the Sensor VSD in an RV and I love it just as much the second time around. It's unfortunate someone below got a bad one.

Smooth Running, Very Quiet

I installed this pump in my Trail-Lite 8300 back in 2003. Used it for over 4 years and more than 12,000 miles of travel. It was incredibly quieter than the stock pump and provided excellent flow. Last month, I sold my 8300 and bought an Airstream Land Yacht Gas 30 SO Motorhome. The pump in my new unit pales in comparison to the Sensor VSD. I plan to put the Sensor VSD Pump into my Airstream and hope it lives up to my previous experience. I hope they haven't changed something to make it less desirable. I am willing to take the chance because of my previous excellent and very quiet experience.

My brother and i bought two of these pumps to replace our lance ShurFlo 2.8. Pretty much, i don't have any clue what the other reviewers are talking about. They must have gotten an older version of this pump because mine is nearly silent. The flow is very steady and powerful when turned up. This pump blows away the 5.7 ShurFlo extreme our of the water. Just remember that ShurFlo makes RV water pumps. FloJet makes pumps for heavy duty industrial applications. These are high quality water pumps. Don't let the other reviews scare you away from this pump. Remember, always purchase the higher gpm pump. If noise is an issue for you, a higher gpm pump will push more water with less motor need. Compared to a 2.8gpm pump, the 4.5gpm motor has to work way less to obtain 2.8gmp, hence quietness.

Took out shurflo 2.8 gpm, not because of flow or pressure, but the noise would wake up the dead. This pump is hardly no noise. My pump is mounted under the sink in the floor so your right there to hear it. This does not pulsate. I would recomend this pump. Easy to install, my connections fit right back on the new. About a 30 min. job.

Quiet and powerful. This little baby hums instead of grunts. Water flow is as advertised - pulse free! Pressure is terrific for my 28 ft. Keystone Tail-Gator Toy Hauler. I highly reccomend this pump as a replacement for the entry level pumps that come with most camp trailers. This upgrade would be on my top ten list for any self contained RV.

I bought this pump because I hated the loud noise of the factory installed pump. Installation instructions are straight-forward; I had to add a flex hose due to the connections not lining up - no big deal. Once I got it in, through the switch....yes to VSD.....it works great and it is quiet. Highly recommend.

Nice pump

This is a nice pump. I hooked it up in about 15 min. It comes with a o-ring slip on the pump side and a1/2" mpt on the other. A filter installs on the suction side. It runs nice and is better then what came with my unit. You might have to get a larger fuse mine was 7.5 it blew the first time I ran the pump. I had to bypass my fuse when it ramps up it sound like a jet plane. It puts out nice water not to much. Over all I think I should spent more money and got the next step up sold at camping world. Hope this helps. Dave and Martha Pires Newman CA 2002 GMC 2500 HD LB. 2005 LE 31.5 Weekend Warrior fifthwheel.

It took only 20 minutes to install this pump with it’s slide in o-ring connectors. No pipe modifications were necessary so I can use my old pump for a spare. Nice smooth flow without pulsations; great in the shower! I’m glad I bought the 4.5 gpm model though it is certainly not too powerful for my Class C.

VSD 4.5 GPM Pump

The pump installs very quickly, easy to use instructions and parts. Although there is a claim that this pump is quiet, I would disagree. The variable speed sensor helps to keep the noise down, but, when you use more than just a little water at a time, the pump does get a little loud. Water flow is excellent though! My thanks to Camping World for having this item at my Door in about three days. Great service!
