I purchased this product before reading any reviews, all I can say is this thing is Awesome! I got rid of the Stinky Slinky and put on the Sewage Solution, this is probably the best purchase I have made for my travel trailer. My brother in law saw it and will be purchasing one for his trailer in Idaho.

It IS the sewer solution

This works as advertised both in parks AND at my home. So far there have been no problems with clogging, even though we use Charmin, not the dissolve-while-using brand. I still use bio tank tabs to control odor and pretreat waste, but I'm not sure they are needed. The grey valve stays open, and dumping the black tank takes a couple of minutes longer than with the 3 inch. Just make this the first item on your departure checklist OR wait until you get home and dump to YOUR sewer while you unload. This is the greatest benefit, I can flush/drain tanks at home instead of on vacation time. Most homes have a sewer clean-out. Our 4 inch is in the back yard (above the RV tank outlet). I replaced the plug with a threaded adapter and connected 1 inch electrical conduit for 30 ft along the house to the driveway. (It's cheaper & with a built in coupling). An additional length extends into the drive when needed. I used friction fit without glue. (A hose would also to work, but it is expensive and a problem to clean if it plugged). The S S connector then fits snugly into the PVC. The Y on the hose used to fill my water tank connects a short hose to the S S and completes the set up. I run lots of fresh water though when finished and I raise the driveway end to drain the assembly. 1 inch caps and plugs keep the open ends secure. I have used this system several times to dump and flush tanks without incident. Suggestions: Buy the extension hose in case the park sewer is more than 10 feet from your outlet. I have only used supply water at least 40PSI, I'm not sure about RV pump water. A short clear section (flush fitting) from the tank outlet to the SS makes it easy to see if you have a clean tank. I keep a 5 foot slinky for ease of use at a dump station. ( I still carry 20 feet of slinky, too, in case of a problem with the S S on the road). This unit is less expensive than a mechanical macerator, requires no electricity, and has no complex moving parts. It gets high marks from me..

Finally!!

I have had this for about a year, and have not had any issues what so ever. The hoses are extra strong and easily stowed. The system takes minutes to set up and flushes within 15 minutes or so, and is extremly easy to clean... I use to camp in a sight that the sewer outlet was about a foot higher then where my outlets was located and this system has reolved all the associated issues with that mess. I have had no issues with the plastic valve or connnections. I did run into a slight drip but determined it to be a loose fitting on the quick release. My only thought is I keep the old fassion system for those dump stations with a line, since this system does take a bit longer with a full tank.

Sewer Solution works great

I used the sewer solution recently on a trip. It was the first time I had used it. It did a great job without all of the mess hassle of the regular sewer hoses. Took up less space, easier to hook up and take down. I also used the 10' extension which was easy to assemble and take loose. I would highly recommend these products.

My use of Sewer Solutions

November 10, 2011
I have been full timing for 4 years with the Stinky Slinky and for the past month I have been using the Sewer Solution. I have an 09 Allegro Bus which has a black tank flush, so I have 4 hoses with quick connects on two Y-splits with a back flow inhibitor on the hoses that feed the sewer solution and the black water flush with shut off valves nearest the rig to control flow rate. The other Y feeds the freshwater and the back flow Y. I use a 10 clear and 3 bayonet with a 45 degree clear to attach the SS so it is on the outside of the wet bay. The 10 clear allows me to see the flow rate. I have found that once the black water appears empty, I shut the value of 30 seconds, let the flush run, and reopen again and a lot more black water comes out. I repeat this several times until the blackwater is mostly clear. (If a vacuum occurs I open the gray a little.) Then open the gray and leave it open. I put a cup of Pine Sol in the toilet and flush a couple times. The result is very little odor from the black tank until it almost is full. When it is time to pack up I flush the SS for a couple of mins shut it off and pull the rubber out of the dump line and rinse it off with a gentle stream into the dump hole. Put the 10 still attached to SS in a large garbage bag and store it. For cold weather use I'm thinking of using a heat tape...

I recently had the chance to use the sewer solution this passed weekend, I cannot say enough about how easy it was to use, no longer having to drag out my old sewer connections. I highly recommend this product.

As all the reviewers have said, it works as advertised. As some reviewers have indicated, the plastic unit that attaches to the RV drain outlet is not as sturdy as it could be. However, I just leave this piece installed and I purchased a cap to cover the metalic piece that connects to the drain hose. That prevents risk of damage from frequent installation and removal. Once a year I remove this piece, clean the plastic, and re-lube the rubber seal. I also have my water system set up so that the connection to this plastic unit can remain connected at all times with the cut-off valve off except when actually draining the tanks. I turn on the water source with the nozzle pointed at the outlet before opening the black-water valve and I leave that on while the black-water tank empties and while I back-flush the black-water (separate connection for back-flush). By doing this, we can use home toilet paper with no problems. After draining the gray-water, I use the swivel on the water inlet to spray clean water back into the drain lines. Then I aim it back at the drain hose and run clean water through that before closing all valves and disconnecting the system. One note: If you close both the black-water and gray-water valves while the water connection is turned on, the water will not drain well. There's no way for air to fill the cavity, so the water stays there held by air pressure from outside. And yes, it will push drain products up hill and it will push them long distances over relatively flat surfaces. We've been using this for almost three years during which we've traveled about 35,000 miles, and we really do like this system.

I was unsure about buying but decided to give it a try after reading some reviews. I have been using it for 2 seasons now and love it. I had a small problem with the connector and called the company and they sent me a new part in 3 days. Customer service was outstanding. This system is nicely engineered and works perfectly. When you buy definetly buy the 10' extension. I store the whole system in a small plastic box. Bye, bye big clumsy hoses.
