Best investment for a Fulltime RV'er

Recently saw this on an rv next to mine. When I visited with him, I had to ask him how in the world he got his waste down that little hose. He asked me over and showed the operation to me. "WOW!" was all I could say. I've owned it for a little more than a month. I can say without a doubt I will always have one. This is my first review I ever felt like raving about! Full timing since 2009

I watched the video and was impressed with what I saw in the demonstration, I was greatly impressed the first time I used my own unit. What a great device for the RV owner. Much cleaner than the 3 traditional flexible hose. The self flushing feature is great. It really cleans the drain system.

While camping one time I met someone who had the Sewer Solution for a few years. He raved about it and recommended that I get one. He told me how he used it without any problems and really liked how it worked. So I finally got one and used it on this trip we just took. It worked like a champ. i was very pleased how easy it was to hook up and that there was no mess involved. The product video and other reviews suggested using a clear hook up tube first so you can see what is coming out and when it is clear. I had one already and took their advise and used it along with the Sewer Solution. This made things easier. I would highly recommend this product to anyone and everyone. I loved that I didn't get all messy like I used to. There was only one minor problem with it when I first hooked it up. The back flow preventer had a tiny pin hole leak in it's side. It was very small but it was still a leak. I contacted the company via email and they sent me a new back flow preventer and an entire set of parts that it hooks up to. The box was waiting for me at my front door when we got home. This is a very good product and a very good company that stands behind it.

This is my first RV, and I was pretty concerned about the dumping process. My sewer clean out is up hill and 60 feet from the RV. No worries! I followed the advice others posted, and made a 1 inch PVC pipe line from the clean out to the RV, and then connected it to the Sewer Solution hose. It worked perfectly!

When I purchased the RV I have now in 2010, the seller raved about this sewer hookup. I thought it was odd, but purchased it from him. It did not take me but one trip to know why. I decided then and there this was one of those MUST HAVE items for my RV. If something ever goes wrong with this, I will have another one quickly. If you are sick and tired of wrestling with that bulky sewer hose, you NEED to get you one of these. It is so simple and easy to use, store, and never clogs. I have one of those giant Zip lock bags I store it in. Works great. Now I rave to anyone who will listen about this item. Several of my friends have since bought one, and they love it too. This is one RV item you will not want to be without.

It is the solution

We purchased a Sewer Solution 15 years ago and are still using it without problems or repair, with now our 3rd M/H. For a while we did carry a 10’ stinky-slinky to use at dump stations as they rarely have a hose with a fitting on the end. Solution – buy 2 push-in hose fittings – ½” & 5/8”. We use quick-connects, I installed one on each fitting. Push in the appropriate fitting & bingo, connect your flush hose – good-by stinky-slinky. When done, few twists to remove your fitting and away you go. We have always used household toilet paper {usually Costco} & in all the years never had a problem – in fact in a few occasions we have even had someone flush paper towel & the SS broke that up & pushed it thru. You might have to move the water jet back & forth a bit but it will do it. On our 2nd M/H the outlet was configured in such a way we could not connect the SS & hoses – we bought a clear adapter. This turned out to be a real plus and we still use it even though it’s not required for our present M/H. – 1st leave the SS attached to it, that eliminates any risk to the SS tabs some inferred break. 2nd – the clear adapter provides a visual point to see & catch anything that will not go thru, like a kids plastic toy. {Happened to us}. Simple solution – close the valves – use the water jet to wash the toy & adapter – unhook & pick out the toy – re-connect, open the valves & continue flushing – try that with a stinky-slinky after a toy or whatever gets stuck about a foot in. The extra 10’ hose is a definite need – rare is the campground where 10 ft will reach & yes it will push black-water 60+ ft & up at least a couple ft. so the SS is the simple answer to be able to rig up a home dump system.

Although it takes a little longer than the conventional sewer drain due to it's smaller dimension it does a superior job. You can see how well it's doing with the clear connection. Also takes up a lot less room when being stored. It basically washes itself for disconnection and storage.

After using the sewer solution for the last 4 outings, I recommend this product. It takes up less room in the compartment. I made up several pieces of 3/4 PVC pipe that I just coupling together (no glue ) to lengthen the discharge when needed works prefect.

I have only used this 5 or 6 times and so far I love it! I probably would have gave it 5 stars if it had came with a longer drain hose and instead of having to buy and extra plus having to furnish your own flush hose. Also it's a little pricey in my opinion but overall I am happy and it is so much better than the 3 stinky slinky IMHO!

Last month I purchased sewer solution after seeing it being used nextdoor to my site by a fellow camper. Impressive isn't the word. I ordered it immediately and got to use it on my next trip. All I can say is how much easier camping has become. A job that no one looks forward to is dealing with the slinky hoses. After trying my very own sewer solution, I threw out the slinky hoses never to use again. Run, don't walk to purchase sewer solution. It's terrific.

I never leave reviews. Honest. I read the reviews for Sewer Solution, a customer in Camping World endorsed it, so I bought it. Well, it absolutely does what it's supposed to. I first used it to connect to a house sewer 60 feet away. It worked so well and was so easy I've used it on my motorhome, while traveling, ever since.

Works great if you have to go uphill

This is not the drain you would use for normal everyday draining at a station. I had two instances where we needed stuff to flow uphill, literally! The drain was uphill. Including the place we are currently parked at. I have used this probably ten times to drain both tanks, and it works GREAT! I was at a garage sale today and they had one for $20.00 so I bought it as a back up or for extra parts. NOTE: Buy the extension, if you really need this, you will probably need 20 feet not 10! I would also recommend hose clamps at the union...I like to be safe not sorry where this is concerned!

I bought a older motor home. The black water tank was never cleaned out well from the previous owner. I put the sewer solution on and tried it out. It worked until some toilet paper started to plug up the inlet to the drain hose. by working the spray back and forth it finaly forced it through the line then it was easy going after that. It works good and worth the money. I believe they used the wrong toilet paper and it did not break down well.

I've only used it once, but that once showed its worth. At home, the sewer connection is not easily reached with the s-slinky, a little uphill, and over a flowerbed. The Sewer Solution reached through the obstacles and pumped up the rise, and not the slightest worry of leaks or spills. For sites where I would stay over a day, it looks to be best, but the time taken to pump out the black tank, it is not for the Dump Stations. Especially if there is a line. The S-Solution and the extension hose packs smaller than the standard short s-slinky, which is also nice.

Today the monitor panel on my motorhome shows the black water tank is EMPTY for the first time since I bought it, thanks to the Sewer Solution. I just followed the simple instructions to the letter, and flushed out the tank an extra time or two, and cleaned out years of built up plaster. Thanks for a simple, inexpensive, and effective solution!

It IS the sewer solution

This works as advertised both in parks AND at my home. So far there have been no problems with clogging, even though we use Charmin, not the dissolve-while-using brand. I still use bio tank tabs to control odor and pretreat waste, but I'm not sure they are needed. The grey valve stays open, and dumping the black tank takes a couple of minutes longer than with the 3 inch. Just make this the first item on your departure checklist OR wait until you get home and dump to YOUR sewer while you unload. This is the greatest benefit, I can flush/drain tanks at home instead of on vacation time. Most homes have a sewer clean-out. Our 4 inch is in the back yard (above the RV tank outlet). I replaced the plug with a threaded adapter and connected 1 inch electrical conduit for 30 ft along the house to the driveway. (It's cheaper & with a built in coupling). An additional length extends into the drive when needed. I used friction fit without glue. (A hose would also to work, but it is expensive and a problem to clean if it plugged). The S S connector then fits snugly into the PVC. The Y on the hose used to fill my water tank connects a short hose to the S S and completes the set up. I run lots of fresh water though when finished and I raise the driveway end to drain the assembly. 1 inch caps and plugs keep the open ends secure. I have used this system several times to dump and flush tanks without incident. Suggestions: Buy the extension hose in case the park sewer is more than 10 feet from your outlet. I have only used supply water at least 40PSI, I'm not sure about RV pump water. A short clear section (flush fitting) from the tank outlet to the SS makes it easy to see if you have a clean tank. I keep a 5 foot slinky for ease of use at a dump station. ( I still carry 20 feet of slinky, too, in case of a problem with the S S on the road). This unit is less expensive than a mechanical macerator, requires no electricity, and has no complex moving parts. It gets high marks from me..

I have had this for about a year, and have not had any issues what so ever. The hoses are extra strong and easily stowed. The system takes minutes to set up and flushes within 15 minutes or so, and is extremly easy to clean... I use to camp in a sight that the sewer outlet was about a foot higher then where my outlets was located and this system has reolved all the associated issues with that mess. I have had no issues with the plastic valve or connnections. I did run into a slight drip but determined it to be a loose fitting on the quick release. My only thought is I keep the old fassion system for those dump stations with a line, since this system does take a bit longer with a full tank.

I used the sewer solution recently on a trip. It was the first time I had used it. It did a great job without all of the mess hassle of the regular sewer hoses. Took up less space, easier to hook up and take down. I also used the 10' extension which was easy to assemble and take loose. I would highly recommend these products.

My use of Sewer Solutions

0 out of 0 people found this review helpful.
November 10, 2011
I have been full timing for 4 years with the Stinky Slinky and for the past month I have been using the Sewer Solution. I have an 09 Allegro Bus which has a black tank flush, so I have 4 hoses with quick connects on two Y-splits with a back flow inhibitor on the hoses that feed the sewer solution and the black water flush with shut off valves nearest the rig to control flow rate. The other Y feeds the freshwater and the back flow Y. I use a 10 clear and 3 bayonet with a 45 degree clear to attach the SS so it is on the outside of the wet bay. The 10 clear allows me to see the flow rate. I have found that once the black water appears empty, I shut the value of 30 seconds, let the flush run, and reopen again and a lot more black water comes out. I repeat this several times until the blackwater is mostly clear. (If a vacuum occurs I open the gray a little.) Then open the gray and leave it open. I put a cup of Pine Sol in the toilet and flush a couple times. The result is very little odor from the black tank until it almost is full. When it is time to pack up I flush the SS for a couple of mins shut it off and pull the rubber out of the dump line and rinse it off with a gentle stream into the dump hole. Put the 10 still attached to SS in a large garbage bag and store it. For cold weather use I'm thinking of using a heat tape...

As all the reviewers have said, it works as advertised. As some reviewers have indicated, the plastic unit that attaches to the RV drain outlet is not as sturdy as it could be. However, I just leave this piece installed and I purchased a cap to cover the metalic piece that connects to the drain hose. That prevents risk of damage from frequent installation and removal. Once a year I remove this piece, clean the plastic, and re-lube the rubber seal. I also have my water system set up so that the connection to this plastic unit can remain connected at all times with the cut-off valve off except when actually draining the tanks. I turn on the water source with the nozzle pointed at the outlet before opening the black-water valve and I leave that on while the black-water tank empties and while I back-flush the black-water (separate connection for back-flush). By doing this, we can use home toilet paper with no problems. After draining the gray-water, I use the swivel on the water inlet to spray clean water back into the drain lines. Then I aim it back at the drain hose and run clean water through that before closing all valves and disconnecting the system. One note: If you close both the black-water and gray-water valves while the water connection is turned on, the water will not drain well. There's no way for air to fill the cavity, so the water stays there held by air pressure from outside. And yes, it will push drain products up hill and it will push them long distances over relatively flat surfaces. We've been using this for almost three years during which we've traveled about 35,000 miles, and we really do like this system.

I was unsure about buying but decided to give it a try after reading some reviews. I have been using it for 2 seasons now and love it. I had a small problem with the connector and called the company and they sent me a new part in 3 days. Customer service was outstanding. This system is nicely engineered and works perfectly. When you buy definetly buy the 10' extension. I store the whole system in a small plastic box. Bye, bye big clumsy hoses.

This is a terrific product. We used it over a 3 month trip after our purchase. Things about Sewer Solution that I particular like are: 1. The ability to add extensions as needed. (I would recommend getting two add-ons and have increased flexibility when parking). 2. Allows continuous drain of grey water. (The system can self flush after draining black water.) 3. Easier to store than standard sewer hoses. (One needs to keep as a back up the standard hose in case hose water might be available though we have not run into that situation.)

This item works great as we have it attached to 8 ten foot lengths of 1 pipe with an uphill rise of about two feet. All waste gets thoroughly macerated and pushed up the pipe.I do see a potential weak spot with the hose connection, but others have said how to fix it. I would recommend this product if you need to dump at home at times. At dump stations I will still use the standard hose.

I have been an RV camper for over 30 years. I have been using this device for over a year and it works for my situation. Every now and then I need to empty my black tank at my house. My 5th wheel is up front and my house sewer drain is over 70 feet away and up about 2 feet. I use 60 feet of 1 inch water fountain hose. It pumps the black water the distance with out a problem. Having a clear connector helps see when you are finished. I will agree with some comments that the water hose connector is a little flimsy. Just have to be careful with all plastic parts. I like the idea of using 1 pvc. Since my run is not straight, that would not work for me. I recommend this product.

Product functions as advertised, but plastic quick disconnect and backflow preventer parts are poorly done and likely to fail with the hose loads at that point. Quick disconnect is very difficult to get seated properly. I am concerned with long term reliability, product needs to be more sturdy. Overall concept is great, the flush operation is clean.

I've been a full time rver since 1995. This is the bestsewage dumping system I have used. Tired of those standard big gravity fed sewage hose that are hard to store, keep clean, eventually break, and needs additional hardware to keep the hose at a slope. The Sewer Solution solves all that.. The only caveat is you need water power to create the jet but then the majority of the time that is available. BTW in my experience it is best not to leave gray valve always open as I had clogging problems and it does not allow to rinse the hose. Try this system you will not go back. Customer service is great too if you need assistance.

It worked just as described, well even better, I had to go 75' to the cleanout of our septic, on flat land but this was not a problem. The only problem I had was the fact our campers black tank is at an 90 degree angle to the outlet and about 6 inches to the left so when back washing the water wouldn't fill the tank. I just hooked up my wand and put it in tank for a few minutes and then finished with the sewer solution. Perfect.

Great Way to Dump

11 out of 21 people found this review helpful.
July 26, 2010
I have been using the Sewer Solution for about a year now, after it was recommended to me by two members of the RV club to which I belong. I have just returned from 8 days at an RV park and I am certainly happy that I used the Sewer Solution. The device works great. You keep the gray water valve open, except when you are dumping the black water. This allows you to take a long shower and it allows you to wash dishes without worrying about the running water. When it is time to dump the black water, there is no fuss. I do admit that I use the black water tank flushing that is built into my RV, because it sprays down the walls of the black water tank and I have never tried the flushing feature of the Sewer Solution. The Sewer Solution is much neater because it uses a smaller dumping hose. I recommend purchasing at least one 10 foot extension, which I have needed several times. I purchased two 10 foot extensions and have the second extension, giving me 30 feet, once. The time that I was set up for 30 feet, I could have repositioned my motor home, but it was in a perfect location, so I used the extension. (I actually needed about 22 feet length.)

We are able to store our travel trailer on a pad next to our house, and one of the things that it gets used for a lot is as a guest room when friends or family visit us. After guests leave, I am able to dump my holding tanks into the sewer clean out in our front yard. The sewer clean out is only about 70 feet away from my trailer but it was always inconvenient to hook up and move the trailer to do the job. Using the Sewer Solution, I now am able to leave the trailer sit where it is and pump the holding tanks the 70 feet to the sewer clean out. To accomplish the 70 foot run I purchased 7 pieces of 1 inch, schedule 40 PVC. I don't glue the PVC but simply press fit it together using 1 inch PVC connections. Press fit works fine because there is no pressure on the connections. When I am done dumping, the PVC rinses clean, comes apart, and stores neatly out of the way next to the house. All of the outward flow connections on the Sewer Solution are a perfect match for 1 inch PVC connections. The Sewer Solution was a great solution to my problem and works like a charm.

I have been using the Sewer Solution for over 4 years and will not go back to the 3" hose system. I had a situation at our favorite campground where the campground site dump connection was plugged and we did not know it. At that time I was using the 3" hose and had 20 feet extended. Well, what do you do with 20 feet of black waste in your hose and it wont drain. Too say the least it was a real nasty mess! After that, I can plug or kink the 1" hose and at least make it to a location to dump and clean up. I carry 40' of Sewer Solution hose and use it at my house to dump and clean out my tanks. I pump 40' and up 2 1/2' and it works great. The only problem was the plastic valve connection broke and I replaced it with a brass one from the Home Depot garden section with a quick disconnect fitting. I suggest that if you are using the original one, buy a backup, just in case. My black tank valve is at the opposite side of the trailer, so I installed a through the wall flush fitting in the black tank to clean out the tank and mounted the connection, next to my dump location, put a water supply wye with a shut-off and I can drain the tank, then flush the tank and make sure my tank is really clean and never have to take a hose into the trailer to flush the tank.

I had read the reviews before I purchased this and thought all my tank emptying woes would be over. This thing does what it says but it has same drawbacks which make it a ok for the money.
Pros: It does what it says it does. It pumps uphill if you need to- a big plus.
Cons: The jet that forces water back into the holding tank doesn't have as much power as some of the other tank cleaning devices on the market. In fact, I still use the old backflush system I have with the sewer solution attached to it. The main problem I had is it took too long to drain when I was doing a good cleaning on the tank. When I used a cleaning wand through the toilet to clean the tank, it would take 5-10 minutes to drain because the hose was too small. The water went in faster than it could go out- even with the jet forcing water though the hose. I had to clean the tank multiple times until there was no waste coming out. It took me almost 40 minutes to get everything out. Next time I'll hook up the big hose for the final cleaning.

My first purchase was the original unit bought from the inventor. He has since sold out, but this unit I have has been in use for about 10 years and still going... One problem.... Granddaughter visited and deposited a tampon and that plugged the system!!!!! Normally us RVers don't have to worry about this, but warn visitors... Over 10 yrs would have went thru many 3" hoses....

I just love this as it makes it so easy to dump and clean. I have always had trouble with the sensers in the tank not coming clean. I can now dump and get everlything clean in about 8 to 10 Minutes. This is great. It stores so easy and takes up less room.

Best money I've spent on the RV! I had to reverse the valve to make it fit my sewer connection. How to do so is in the instructions and it was simple to do. I added a 10' length of PVC pipe to reach the sewer clean-out in my yard. This added piece of pipe is a slip fit connection with the pieces that come with the kit. I hooked it to my RV drain, connected the garden hose, and relaxed while the black tank drained. Spin the valve, and the water jet rinses the black tank. The clear fittings let you see when the water is running clean. As I said, best money I've spent. I love this thing!

Great simple solution to handle waste

After spending lots of money on other sewer items, like 3" hoses adapters, flush values, etc. and spending up to an hour if not more each time I had to dump tanks and back flush to clean them out, I bought this little item and used it for the first time this weekend. Why didn't I buy it before? It is simple to use and cuts the time to empty and clean my tanks more than a half. Matter of fact, it took about 12 minutes to dump and clean my tank. The jet breaks up the waste and tissue paper and with a simple flip it shoots the water to flush out the tanks. Matter of fact the 2 other familes we were camping with used my sewer solution and they are going to buy one. For the money it is the best solution. You do not need to buy the expensive pumps etc. This does it all and most importantly it keeps me clean and frees up my time to relax just a little bit longer before we have to pack up and leave. I recommend buying at least 2 more sections of hose for longer dumps. I bought 2 more sections as well in addition to the hose provided with the kit. Which was good because we needed it. I may buy one more section to be safe. I want to thank Pat at the Winchester VA Camping world, who showed me this product. She was very helpful and took time to help me research this solution. I do a lot of business at this store, because of the customer service. Because of Pat, my family will be long camping world customers. Guess what, the time you took to read this post, you tanks would be empty by now. Go get one and have a new enjoyment of camping.

Need Longer Hose

July 08, 2009
The unit itself works very well, but about half of the camp grounds have the sewer connections in back of the camping site and a 10 foot hose is not going to reach the drain.    If your motor home is 30 feet or more and if your drain is in the middle of your rig,  (do the math) you will need to buy a longer hose.  The Sewer Solution should come with a standard 20 foot hose.  If your drain has a "Y" connection, your drain handles will be in the way.  They provide directions in turning your Y drain down.   A  low Class C will have the drain too close to the road if left down.   I used an old sewer rinse device to extend my drain connection out   6 inches  to avoid the drain handles.    Otherwise you would have to adjust the direction of the Y drain each time you use this product.   Be prepared to spend extra money to set it up.

I used the sewer solution on my 3,000 mile trip and it worked great at all of the RV parks I stayed at. The only problem I encountered was at 1 park I needed to have 2 feet more hose to reach the parks sewer. I carry at least 20 feet of extra hose to cover this problem.

We have been using this system for about 4 years now, and would never go back to a conventional 3-inch sewer hose. The Sewer Solution is much cleaner and more compact than a conventional hose. I made an extension for it from 1-inch PVC pipe, and can now dump at home. Get one!

We're new to RV'ing and I didn't really want to deal with the slinky. I tried Sewer Solution (added 3 extra 10 foot lengths). It worked great - no mess - no smell - emptied the black tank without any problems into the cleanout on the side of my home. The rise was about 2 1/ 2 feet - and it just worked.

Sewer Solution is Wonderful

We have used the Sewer Solution as full-timers for over 5 years. I would never go back to the sloppy, stinky, messy, hard-to-store 3 hose. I can store 30' of hose in an 18 oil drain pan. I have hard- piped the Sewer Solution to a water pressure source in the wet bay of our 2000 Holiday Rambler Endeavor so there is nothing more to do but to extend the drain hose to the outside sewer outlet. The Sewer Solution has never clogged like more expensive macerators do.

At some of my friends homes that I visit, they have a sewer clean-out by the side-walk. This product makes it so easy to empty the holding-tanks while parked in the street. I Just route the hose under the RV, over the side-walk, and into the clean-out. This product works so good and net that people passing by don't even realize what is happening. Best of all, I can now use the stupid dump stations that are up on an Island. Yes I recommend this product to other RVers!

Long distance dumping

We are parked about 120 feet from a septic tank with a slight rise of maybe 1 foot. I bought the Sewer Solution hoping that it would pump the black water that far. I had my doubts being as the instructions say only 60 feet but was pleasantly surprised when it emptied the black water tank in just a few minutes. We did run 1-1/4 inch PVC and the water pressure here is high, probably around 60-70 psi but anyway, it worked great. Haven't tried the back flush because I have a tank spray system for cleaning the tank.

I have had this for 2 years now and it does everything it says it will. It's just a little slower with low water pressure but it still dumps. I have heard complaints that it doesn't back flush very well but if you read the box it states that it should be used for back flushing. Put a tornado in your tank and flush with that and drain the tank with the sewer solution. With 50 psi of water pressure I can drain a 60 gal tank and flush it clean in 10 minutes. My wife will even dump the tank now I have this. I won't rv without one.

I recently purchased this item. It works good but I do not recommend it for use for long term parking. It would be best used for short term camping. It is best used by itself, not in conjunction with any other back flush system. It is too cumbersome to use in conjunction with anything else. Slower than the stinky slinky hose but a lot cleaner.

Very nice but not perfect

This product is much more pleasant to handle than a wet, smelly full- sized sewer hose and it stores in the small box it comes in. It is a lot slower than a full-sized hose, however, even if you have the nozzle pointed correctly, and the speed depends on the water pressure at your site. Even with high-pressure, I'd say it is at least 2 or 3 times slower. It also won't backflush many rigs with large diameter black-water pipes and/or a long run to the tank. Backflushing is essential if you want a clean holding tank. I often still see toilet paper coming out on the third or fourth backflush. I'd still recommend the product in combination with a Flush King attachment from Camping World. They work very well together and the Flush King allows you to see what's coming out of the tank . You can't really see it very well in the Sewer Solution hose. Since there's always a flow of water in the hose, it's hard to know when the tank is done draining. Also, if you put a cheap green quick-connect fitting from Ace Hardware on the Flush King inlet, you can backflush just by moving the Sewer Solution supply hose to that side and changing the valve settings.

This is the best thing since sliced bread and beer. I use it and I love it. I read the review about the baby wipes and I too have had that happen but I was able to move the jet around and the wipe went through the hose. If you camp with full hookups this is the way to go. Definitely get the extension hose as well. I never wear gloves and I have never gotten anything on me (still wash your hands though). I also leave my grey water open and it flows through the hose just fine with out having to have the jet on. You won't regret buying this.

The sewer solution IS THE ANSWER to a quick clean dump, no fuss, no muss!! Other owners at the dump sites that I used were amazed at the efficiency and cleanliness of an otherwise nasty task. I combined the installation of two Tornado Permanent Tank Rinsers (black & grey tanks) using a Walmart garden hose manifold and the forced pumping action of this sewer solution to provide a thorough flush with the speed (almost) of an Indianapolis tire change. Never seen so many guys gaga about flushing poop! Many thanks to other reviewers for giving me the straight poop on this device. I highly recommend this item.

When we park our RV at home the sewer clean-out is about 30 feet away from the place where I park my RV and is slightly uphill. I found that the sewer solution worked perfectly. I also use it when I need to park further from the sewer connection then my 3-inch hose can reach at certain RV parks. And it is very satisfying to see the stuff get chopped up as it goes down the drain.

The Sewer Solution really does work.

We have had the Sewer Solution for about 2 years and we use it all the time. It works well. Instead of buying the $25 extension hose, I bought about 10 pieces of 8-foot long 1 inch pvc pipe that fit in the basement of our fiver. To allow the pipe to run under and around things, I also bought a couple of large radius conduit 90 and 45 degree angles. The 1 inch pvc fits nicely between the green Sewer Solution hose and the part that attaches to the park drain. With decent water pressure, I have emptied the stinky stuff from at least 60 feet up into a regular bathroom toilet. It was a little slow, but it worked. The best part is the cleanliness. After flushing the hose and pipe with fresh water a couple of times with it still attached to drain, there is little or no smell ... a very welcome change from the old wringled pipe that you have to hold in your hand and stick a water hose in to flush. Plus, it is absolutely, without question better than a blue or grey 'honey wagon' cart. The only problem: We had to replace the yellow flow valve, but that was cheap. We highly recommend it.

Just wanted to say the product works great, I did have to add a few adaptors to the main sewer line to get the Solution to fit, that took only a few minutes, now the sewer is easier to handle and use. I may even get rid of the old sewer stuff and make more storage room in the RV. There are no motors to get stuck or repair like the newer sani-cons that sell for several hundred bucks. Give it a try, it makes the job easier and a good conversation piece at campgrounds!

Sewer Solution o,k, but not quite a total solution

I am satisfied with my purchase. But, this is after I figured out a way to better back flow my black water tank with an adjusted use of the Sewer Solution. The sludge really can be forced down this small of a drain hose without plugging it. The jet pulverizes the sludge as advertised. We have a camper that has a low portion of the black water tank that never gets drained and it leaves a smell..yeck! The best solution is to either fill the black water tank completely with water, after it's been drained once, and then drain it again, or use the Sewer Solution a few times to back flush. I chose the latter. However, I found that not enough water was entering the black water tank using the Sewer Solution. Some water would drain out while the water was being shot up the black water drain pipe. A way around this is to hold the drain end of the Sewer Solution's drain hose above the level of the drain pipe and black water tank, and this allows for all of the water to enter the black water tank, allowing for a more complete filling for eventual flushing. You're essentially filling the tank from the reverse end, but not a complete fill. When you flip the Sewer Solution's fill jet down into the drain hose, it creates a suction, forcing the sludge into the drain hose. You must do this several times. I would not recommend doing this when there is a line of RVs behind you waiting to dump, for it can be time consuming. Easy, but time consuming. Furthermore, not all dump stations have a hose end that you can connect the back-flow preventer inlet valve connector to. You may want to do this at home if you have a way to get rid of the remaining, but heavily diluted waste water. The smell after we've dumped and flushed several times did go away, so the Sewer Solution did work. You may have a better black water tank design, and get better and quicker results. Good luck on your decision.

Works as advertised. We have a class A with a separate compartment for the sewer hook up. The water supply hose would not fit on because of the configuration of the compartment. A trip to the garden center for a few parts solved the problem for about $5.00. Our RV has a washer/dryer installed. After 2 washes I would have to dump the grey tank. Now the the grey valve stay open all the time so that problem is solved.

This has to be the BEST purchase yet that I have made for our motothome. It is easy to handle and easy to use. I can see when the tanks are empty. I highly recommend it to anyone that goes where there are full hookups.

This is a great system. I have used it many times with no trouble. But last trip my wife put baby wipes in the toilet (I know) and me not knowing, dumped and got the whole 2 ft pipe clogged with sewage. The jets would not disintegrate/ push the baby wipes down the hose. My only option was to completely take the sewer solution off and let the sewage out, clean the sewer solution and put it back on. Nice Mess! Not the sewer solutions fault by any means but something to think about. I also have an issue with my coupler from the jet; if the water pressure is too high, it comes right off. I have to stand there and hold it. That is really the reason for the 4 stars. I would still recommend this product though.

We have an older travel trailer that sits real low and has small holding tanks which must be dumped frequently. If using a tote tank ,blue boy, it was almost impossible to empty the tanks with out getting messy. Now with the Sewer Solution I never get dirty and the cleanup is just that CLEAN. No more accidental spills, or dirty hoses to contend with. You cannot go wrong with this product. It is the simplest product to use, no muss, no fuss. I will never go back to regular unsanitary hose systems again. I do recomend the 10 ft extension, you never know how much hose you will need. We keep ours in a black plastic tote with secure lid. You will wonder how you did without it all this time. The one product I would recomend to anyone that has dump tanks. Great product!! Try it ,you will like it.

The real difference between this and a macerator, is that this is cheaper and you can really clean your drain pipe and tank with the sewer solution. I have a built in flush system on my RV, and I could not believe how much additional junk came out of the RV when using the sewer solution. I now use them together.

We just bought this sewer solution and Absolutely LOVE it!!! We bought a regular standard dump hose just in case we had a problem. It was so easy, We just purchased our 36' motorhome and this was our 1st trip out for a week and the person before us must have used regular toilet paper because big clumps of paper kept coming out.. we must have flushed the black tank 8 times... and that little brass jet inside the clear tube sure ripped all of it up and out the tiny little hose... and it is so easy and compact!!! the length was a little short for us so we bought the extention on our way home to use next trip. We would highly recommend this product.

I think I know why a previous reviewer said it took an hour to drain his black water tank. You can move the jet 0 to 90 degrees and it literally blasts the waste down the tube, I didn't read this initially and it did take a long time to dump if the jet blast is pointed up in your black water drain instead of down the small drain tube. Used properly, It is fast and clean.

We graduated from a pop-up camper (no bathroom) to a travel trailer a few years ago. Bought a Sewer Solution shortly thereafter and have never been sorry! I've watched other folks fuss with their sewer hoses to get them clean enough to store in the bumper, or other places. Watched a fellow, up in Canada, jack up his camper to get it high enough so his sewer hose had a downward slope and would drain properly. Our Sewer solution is driven by water pressure, has never clogged, never failed to drain the tanks fully. Once in a while I run into a sewer pipe whose size is a challenge, but the ol' foam sewer ring usually solves that problem. The backflush feature lets me get the tanks clean before we hit the road, the thing flushes itself clean on the inside and a quick spray takes care of the outside. I store it in a plastic tub with a cover when it's not in use. Highly recommended!

Just purchased, based on current reviews, and completely satisfied. Every dump system I have used in the past sprand leaks or did not get tight fitting between hoses or connections. Got fed up with all the money being spent on new hoses or fittings. Just got back from a two week trip using the Sewer Solution and am more than satisfied. Not leaks, drips, or dirty fitting to deal with. Highly recommend for every RV owner who hates the dumping process as much as I did. Great product, more than advertised. I showed it to three different campers while I was gone and they all liked the system.

The sewer solution makes dumping tanks through a sewer clean out much easier and far less messy than using a large hose. When I purchased the sewer solution I also bought the extra hose. My wife and i have been using this product for at least seven years, and even through there have been countless outstanding improvments in all other ares of motor coaches, this is the first sewage product to bring this out of the dark (and smelly) ages, lol...I was very surprised to read the "Anonymous" reviewer that gave this 3 stars because he said it took over an hour to dump. We have 50 gallons each gray and black, and it's never taken us more than 15 minutes to dump and flush. If you've had had an "incident" (and you KNOW what I mean!) with the big gray tube, you know that one of these embarrassing moments is more than enough. Now, when we hook up the hose to the unit, pull the dump lever and turn on the high-pressure water macerator, it's amazing to see how fast and clean this works. You can use regular toilet tissue, as the macerator shreds everything in the black tank, and even pumps it uphill. I'm also surprised that until this product there had been not even one significant improvement on the process of this necessary evil. But, this works beyond any expectations I had, and even though you can't set the Sewer Solution up so you can keep your black tank open, you can leave your gray open, and it's so simple and fast to empty your black tank, it makes no difference that you have to dump when your tank gets full. One more thing...back when we bought ours, it cost quite a bit more, and I think we paid almost $200.00 for it with the extention hose, that, in my humble opinion, is a must-buy...it was worth every penny. Now, it's under a hundred dollars, and I just hope you try this...I can't even imagine you not being ecstatic after your first use.

The sewer solution system is everything that the other reviews say it is. I read them all. I've tried electric systems and so I finally broke down and bought the sewer solution. I put in a cleanout to my 2 inch garage line and put a 3inch to 2 inche reducer outside. This unit works fantastic. It moves all black and grey water smoothly and efficiently. No mess whatsoever! I bought a "y" to fill my black tank while dumping grey & black holding tanks. Works perfect. You won't be sorry about spending the money. Don't be misled about the review talking about having to wait an hour to dump. This unit works very quickly based on how full your holding tanks are. This system evacuates your tanks...if you have a buildup in your blank water tank...that's due to other conditions - not the sewer solution. Great product!

I had to place a FEMA trailer in my drive for my father and had no sewage hook up close. The trailer also sat so close to the ground that I could run a sewer line to my only clean out which was about 80 feet with one 90 degree turn. Tried a holding tank but that was still to high for me to empty out sewer tank on trailer. Bought this product, hooked it up to 80ft of 1" PVC pipe and connected it the only cleanout I had. ***It worked great!!!!*** It is worth every penny.

Happy Dumping Camper at Last

After watching users with several systems, now have something that fits the need for a variety of methods for dumping. Have a dumper dolly as well and now use that only when needed. Sewer Solutions will pump to dumper dolly when neeeded. Currently I am using the sewer solution to dump down a hill with a 15 degree decline and then back up a 30 degree incline to a dump connection six inches off the ground for a total of 60 feet. in addtion to the extension hose of 10 feet ordered with the unit, used 35 feet of PVC 1" piping in 10ft and 5 ft connections with four inch pvc twist on connections found at a real hardware store to make disconnecting and connecting everything a easy. Even rigged up a PVC twist on connection that easily that attaches the 3/4 inch sewer solutions hoses at both ends. Connection method makes it is easy for storage in the bay of a Class A. Major issue to the sewer solution is having good water pressure for the inlet water hose which enhances its pumping ability. If the extension hoses were cheaper I would have not bothered with the PVC piping. Hope this helps

It does a great job of flushing the tank, however it takes about 1 hour to dump and flush the black and gray tanks. It is ok if you have the time and a sewer hookup at your site, but it takes too long to use at a busy dump station on your way out of the campground. The gray tank only needs to be flushed once or twice, but the black tank usually takes five to 8 partial fills and dumps to get clean. I also have to fill the toilet from inside the RV to help push out large deposits.

I have used this full time for the last 5 months from Alabama to the Oregon Coast and now in Canada. It is very easy to use and the added benefit of keeping everything clean is worth hooking up one extra hose. I have quick connects and a y valve to help the set up along. I have not found anywhere it will not work, and the review about blowing it up is impossible. The design would not allow it. I highly recommend this product. I even have used it up hill.

Great "Solution" to my dumping woes

Have had this device for quite some time, and all of our RV's had sewer systems which prevented the Sewer Solution to fit properly. However our current unit has a 45 degree elbow, which allows it to fit nicely. We spend a lot of time at my Mom's, which is on a farm and dumping is a real premium. Hooked a 1" PVC pipe 35' long on to it and it works just great with her septic tank cleanout. No smell and no mess like the big hose. Would recommend this to anyone.

At long last, for me, I can now quit using "Old Blue", the Sewer Sollution is a fine 6 Star product. If you usually dump where there is water available your nasties are a thing of the past.

Finally a way to get the holding tank really clean

We used this product this weekend for the first time and we were very pleased with its performance. It was shocking though to see what we had missed in previous cleanings when we though we had done a good job!! It was eye opening to see what had been missed. This product works better than expected, and was very easy to use. We had to turn the hose input attachment around so that it fit on the left instead of the right as it came in the package. The instructions tell you how to do this, its easy.

I have been using a rig for over 25 years and this system is the best I have ever used. It is easy to set up and easy to use. There is no worry about spillage and when an extenstion is needed, there is no "walking" the waste down to the outlet. I highly recommend this system!!

Sewer Solution

I would give the system more than five stars! It works terrific! I've used it on both of my trailers and it cleans out clogs and gets out all the stuff that sticks to the walls in the tank. I've tried about everything on the market, but nothing has worked as well as this product! By blasting high pressure water back up the drain into the black water tank it creates a turbulent action that breaks up the material in the tank. Rotating the high pressure jet 90 degrees then creates a suction force that draws the material out of the tank and when it hits the junction of the 3/4 inch drain hose, it busts up any and everything into small pieces that readily flush down the 3/4 inch drain pipe. It should be a standard item for every RV trailer. IT WORKS and can get rid of those difficult situations when the holding tank clogs.

Great Product

I would recommend this item for any RV'er that wants to simplify draining their holding tanks without any mess. The simplicity of hooking it up and the water flow from the hose keeps all the mess inside the hose and once you are finished draining the tanks you can close each valve and the water hose has cleaned out the hose to the sewer system in the park. You unhook and put it away. Great product.

If you have a low sewer drain valve, you NEED this product!

The sewer drain on our travel is so low that it actually sits lower than most RV park sewer hookups. As a result, draining the tanks becomes nearly impossible, and we usually have to go find a dump station after leaving the park. This product changed all of that. Now, it's as simple as turning the water jet on, opening the drain valve, and sitting down and reading the newspaper until draining is finished. And if you get a blockage in the drain pipe, simply swivel the jet so it points up into the tank and it immediately clears the blockage. Swivel back down and draining continues unimpeded. Combined with the built-in black flush system on my coach, the black tank has never been cleaner. Not only is the Sewer Solution well designed, but it's very high quality as well. I would recommend this product to anyone, even those with "standard" height drain valves. It's really a pleasure to use.

I am always looking for a better way to empty my RV holding tanks. The SewerSolution is the best that I have found. This will be my fourth summer using this device. It is the cleanest, easiest way to drain your RV tanks. The SewerSolution can pump up hill, so you do not have to worry about keeping your hose sloping down to the sewer connection. The tanks and the hose are flushed clean when you finish. It does take longer to empty the tanks than a standard hose. I still carry a standard hose for use when a water connection is not available, such as a dump station.

The SewerSolution (they really need to change that name...sounds like what comes out of the black tank!) does a very good job in "pumping" out the tanks. We own a hybrid that has a very low tank outlet, hence the sewer hookup/dump station is sometimes at a higher elevation. The SewerSolution has proved invaluable in these instances where we need to "pump"/dump "uphill". Further, it also allows for effective backflushing of the tank. HOWEVER, since the dump-hose is so narrow, it takes FOREVER to empty the tanks. By the time I empty then backflush the black tank two or three times and the grey tank once or twice, it takes a good hour. So, this isn't a good thing at a busy dumpstation. Also requires constant babysitting during the process, to make sure the connection doesn't come off the sewer hookup/dumpstation (unless you can find a great big rock to put over it), etc. Overall, though, it is indespensible for those "uphill" situations.

I admit to being skeptical--after all, a 3/4-inch hose to handle waste that had been going through a 4-inch hose... On the first trip out after buying Sewer Solution, I found it to be exactly as advertised. You couldn't buy this thing from me at any price if I couldn't get another one. Dumping tanks is cleaner and easier than with conventional drain hose. It's also nice to be able to leave the gray tank valve open when connected to a sewer hookup. If staying in one place for several days, that in itself saves time and hassle. I wouldn't sell this thing for twice what I paid for it if another one weren't available.
