This Platinum series fan came factory installed on my Montana Mountaineer when we purchased it new. Everything works as advertised. The only issues that knocked it down a star was that the motor is a little squeeky on low, (not sure why because it works excellent at all speeds and has been that way since we took delivery) and that the three screws that mount the motor to the vent frame came loose after about 1-1/2 years. One screw came out and was caught in the fan mold and it would clank when starting the unit up. The clanking at start up was the only thing that alerted me to the problem. The fan still worked properly. So I took it apart and threw some lock tight on the screws and put it back together. Took 15 minutes to make the fix and with the lock tight, they won't come out again unless I want them out. The fan is used a lot. We set the temperature on the remote while it is parked at the house since it is kept outside, crack a window or another vent and it helps keep the trailer cooler when it gets hot and it all works automatically. Don't even think about it until it's time to go out. And the rain sensor closes if it rains. When the temperature drops, it shuts off saving electricity. I like this fan alot and would purchase again. Oh ya, really appreciate the tough acrylic smoke lid. Went to Mt. Rushmore and got a tremendous hail storm with large hail while we were out. There are 4 roof vents in my trailer with one of them this Shurflo and one that has a vent cover (as from the factory). When we got back to the trailer that evening, the 2 regular vent lids were broken clear through and it was wet inside the trailer. I had to duct tape those up for the remainder of the trip. The Shurflo and vent with the cover survived unharmed. The smoke cover allows filtered light through to help brighten things up. I was wishing every vent in my trailer was one of these Shurflos or had a cover on it after that hail storm.
