Not as easy as it looks!

I have a 1993 Country Coach Magna, I am very mechanically incline but THIS WAS A CHALLENGE to install. Yes, it tells you that the regulator might have to be moved, what it dosen't take into account is the small space to work within. To start it was a challenge to find a place the "Stay a While" valve could be placed that you could hook up the hose so you could still close the compartment door. No matter how it was placed you still can't attach the external tank and the BBQ attachment without having to leave the compartment door slightly open. By the time I had re piped the regulator and "Stay a While" I spent about 5 hrs and $20 in brass fittings to make it fit. This doesn't mention the chance for leaks since you have to take apart most of the existing plumbing. As for the hose attaching the external tank, after routing it out of the bottom of the compartment it was only long enough to attach a 40LB tank not the 100LB in there advertisement picture. NOT FOR AMATURES!!

Lack of maintenance

I purchased my Stay A While Deluxe in 2005 and was very satisfied with it. In 2009, I disconnected my outside propane tank and opened the main propane tank on my RV. No propane would flow through the Stay A While Tee. I had to remove the Tee to have propane for our trip home from Florida. Mr. Heater Corporation, which sells the Stay A While products, warrents the product for one year, but does not provide maintenance on older products. Your only alternative is to buy a new unit. I find this unsatisfactory in view of the cost of the Stay A While Deluxe

Connection leak

I was a little worried when I disconnected the main line from the tank and saw no O ring. The adapter had the O ring. I screwed it in tight and the mainline into the adapter without an O ring. The mainline wasn't designed for a ring. More worried at this point. Would it seal? After tightening all the connection I needed to make and attaching the aux bottle to the hose I turned on the flow. A leak test confirmed that the non O ring connection wasn't leaking and the O ring was good too. BUT the factory connection on the adapter was leaking a good bit. I tightened it and still it didn't stop leaking. Only after I wrapped it with teflon tape, as recommended by my local Camping World rep, did it stop leaking. I am hoping that this is the last time I am going to have to worry about leaking gas. I checked it again with soapy water and it appears to have stopped leaking. Keeping my fingers crossed and watching for bubbles.

Stay A While brass T

I agree with the review with the full timer from California. The product is well made but the design needs considerable improvement for connecting the supply hose to the Stay A While T. The old type fitting used with a wrench to connect the hose to the bottle worked OK for me with a 100# bottle.
