Problems at first, but worth the investment

I did have a couple of start-up problems with this kit. First of all, after installation, all my propane devices seemed starved for fuel. Contacted MrHeater tech support and we finally determined that I was cracking open the propane bottle too quickly, this was 'locking' the leak prevention devices. Secondly, I did have a leak at one of the tee connections. MrHeater sent a replacement tee, that also had a leak at the very same spot. I was able to tighten the connections, on the replacement, and solve the leak problem. The original tee could not be sealed. MrHeater tech support was great, quick responses. If you can get by the initial problems, this kit really does work well. I wouldn't want to be without such a system any more. One further note: Unique to my situation, as supplied, the tee adapter would have blocked the on-board propane tank fill inlet. I went to a local propane dealer and had a 3-foot flexible hose built that allowed me to mount the tee in a better spot.

Even though I had some space problems, I was able to install this myself. Tested it for leaks then hooked up to an auxiliary tank. It worked first time with NO problems.' Being at one spot with awning out but with cold weather I did not want to pack everything up, unhook water, sewer, electric and cable so I could drive a mile away to fill the motorhome LP tank. I can now simply take the small tank with me in the car, fill it up then come back and hook it up again. MUCH EASIER! They should install this on all motorhomes, especially for those who are snowbirds or full timers.

3 Bottles are better than 2

I bought the stay a while deluxe so I could run 3 30# bottles at once thru the winter months. It has worked very well. I can run 2 bottles at once and have a third bottle as a backup. 2 bottles will usually last 12- 15 days depending on outside temps. and I'm not having to fill a bottle every 5-7 days. Works perfectly, no problems.

Good idea, but a bit of a pain

This item is useful, but more thought could have been put into it to make a great product. I use this on a motorhome with a built-in, non- removable tank to camp long-term. Despite the fact that oldstyle LP tanks cannot be refilled and the new tanks all have the quick-connect Acme fitting on them, this product requires the user to get out a wrench and change the tank out the old way...a pain and very aggravating in the rain and cold. Then, when you want to hit the road, you have to remove the external tank hose from the T-fitting. There's no quick-connect or swivel fitting, so the entire length of the hose has to spin in order to remove it. This does what I need it to do and unfortunately there's no competition, so I am stuck with it until it's redesigned.

    Stay A While brass T

I agree with the review with the full timer from California. The product is well made but the design needs considerable improvement for connecting the supply hose to the Stay A While T. The old type fitting used with a wrench to connect the hose to the bottle worked OK for me with a 100# bottle.

    Connection leak

I was a little worried when I disconnected the main line from the tank and saw no O ring. The adapter had the O ring. I screwed it in tight and the mainline into the adapter without an O ring. The mainline wasn't designed for a ring. More worried at this point. Would it seal? After tightening all the connection I needed to make and attaching the aux bottle to the hose I turned on the flow. A leak test confirmed that the non O ring connection wasn't leaking and the O ring was good too. BUT the factory connection on the adapter was leaking a good bit. I tightened it and still it didn't stop leaking. Only after I wrapped it with teflon tape, as recommended by my local Camping World rep, did it stop leaking. I am hoping that this is the last time I am going to have to worry about leaking gas. I checked it again with soapy water and it appears to have stopped leaking. Keeping my fingers crossed and watching for bubbles.

What a breeze. Just as described 2 wrench install. Only thing that would be nice is 16' hose to hook up propane grill on other side of coach. Also it was $20:00 cheaper than at propane store in town. Anyone that can hook up propane tank should not have problem installing this. I had talked to 2 people who had it installed at propane dealer and told me it was very complicated and said I should not try it. Ufta! As my mom says.

I have my 93 Gulfstream Tourmaster motorhome in a place that is difficult to move every time I need to refill the internal propane tank. This item allowed me to connect an external small (BBQ size) propane tank into my system. Installation was way too easy - 5 minutes tops. Just 2 crescent wrenches and some soapy solution to test the connections when done. I wish the included hose was longer than 5 feet - 8 or 10 would be perfect but 5 foot does work. The included 12 foot hose is for connecting accessories which I could care less about in my situation so I'm not using it.

I have my 2001 Minnie Winnie set up semi-permanent at a mobile home park which does not allow any propane delivery service. This product, which includes a bonus accessory hose is a quick install requiring only two wrenches and a good leak detection method. The adaptor tee allows for connection of an auxilliary propane tank and a propane accessory (heater, bbq, lantern, etc.) Eliminates packing up to drive off and find propane at a facility that can accommodate a large RV.Great value and time saver!

I have contacted Brad Austin at the factory. He has given me some instructions on how to adapt the Stay A While Tee to the custom set up in my Expedition. This should do the trick. He was very responsive and actually marked up a photo of my setup to help me with what needed to be done. I will keep the 4 star rating since it did require some customization.

Wonderful product and so easy to install. Only regret is that I did not purchase this two years ago. Now I will have to purchase a propane grill to utilize the extra hose outlet. We got this item because I got fed up with having to unhook, make motorhome ready for travel, go get propane, and set back up during our winter stays in the warm south. Problem now solved.

easy to install. Should have added it last year. I add the value at the end of the hose so I can change tanks with minimal air getting in the line.

    Wrong thread size

Ad clearly says it fits on old and new RV's, but it doesn't. It came with the wrong thread size and won't connect to my RV's built on propane tank. Very disappointing, especially since I can't cook in or heat my RV, which I live in year round. Hose and some brass fittings don't fit. Ridiculous.
Cons: Doesn't work in my application
