You need to buy two for stability

As you can see in the picture, and correctly so, you place this stabilizer under the bottom step in the middle. But the sides of the steps still have give in them and it's a little unbalancing, especially when coming down the stairs unless you put both feet right in the middle. Even if your feet are just slightly off-center you will feel the step give and it does more harm than good because the step is "bending" to one side. So we have one that we bought last summer and we'll buy a second one and place off-center right where one's feet placement would be. Surely this issue would have been noticed through the test of this product.

Works great as advertised. But don't forget to remove it BEFORE running steps back... It can be hard on the power step assembly if you don't.
