Great Fit

It fits perfectly on our 2011 Dutch Star 43 foot RV, it is just shy of the overall length of our standard awning, and drops down just enough to do the job, and it also rolls up into the awning (when the wind isn't blowing hard or wet) without any issues. My only desire would have been to have 2 additional grommets in the edge.

Sunblocker

The Sunblocker material provides a very effective sun screen. My motorhome awning sits high when extended because of the kitchen slide out , so the 6' height is really a plus. Although the Sunblocker installed easily when tested on my home awning, the track on my Dometic awning on the RV is smaller making installation nearly impossible. Carefree of Colorado was very helpful in providing (at no cost) a smaller polycord insert which allows the shade to fit correctly. Be aware the stated product dimensions are the actual size. The actual fabric on my awning is a bit less than 16.5', so I had the Sunblocker trimmed down to match at a local shop. Others may want to just order the 15' size. I also added grommets at each end at the top to help with installation and removal along with two more along the bottom for better tie down security since we camp in some very windy beach areas.

SunBlocker Issues

0 out of 0 people found this review helpful.
August 31, 2012
The SunBlocker screen material provides excellent shading, and the 6' height will be helpfull because my awning sits high when extended over the kitchen slideout. However, there are several issues in attemping to use this with the Dometic awning on my 34' Hurricane. First, the Dometic utility channel is apparently smaller than some other awnings and it was impossible to insert the screen into the full length of the channel even with extreme force. The SunBlocker length is an actual 17', while my nominal 17' awning fabric is only 16'2 and the total channel length only 16'6. This leaves a significant excess even if the screen could be fully installed. Because I like the material and the 6' height, my solution is to have a fabric shop cut the awning to 16'4 and install two grommets at the top corners. This way I can use the top grommets to secure the shade to the awning frame if I am unable to find a smaller plastic line or rope insert for the top fabric loop so it will fit into the utility channel. I am also adding two more grommets at the bottom for better tie down security. The SunBlocker only had three for the full 17'.
