I have a 44 foot motor home. My Original Power Transfer Switch melted. I chose this switch because it was the best. I was having problems with the power switching off. I added the optional Display for the 40250 to help diagnose the problem. The Onan / Cummins Dealer was able to diagnose and fix the problem, because I had this switch. My investment was protected. Now the best part: since they were able to balance the load correctly, I can now run the whole coach off the 10KW generator. Had I not bought this switch, I probably would have melted another transfer switch or worse!!!! For safety and to protect my equipment, including the generator, Air conditioning, Inverter, ETC., I will always have a coach protected with a Surge Guard Transfer Switch with RV Power Protection. If this switch is not your OEM switch, I would have someone install one immediately.

Easy installation and a little bigger than the other Surge Guard hardwired products. With some manipulation on the location in order to get all of the wires to fit into the appropriate holes through the case, wiring was a snap. Wire locations were easily marked for the Genset, Shore power, and RV. Easy to follow to set it up when power was applied for the first time, and then it did as advertised when the generator came on. The only issue was with Camping World, as they sent the wrong remote display with the unit. The dispaly should be Surge Guard part no. 40272, and the cable, part no. 40258, as per the instruction manual. There is nothing in Camping World's online catalogue nor sales department to indicate the above optional parts. Those items have to be dropped shipped direct from Surge Guard.
