Good Safety feature

This is a great add-on for your camper. I would have given it 5 stars but it needs more height adjustability so that it can make good solid contact with the ground. More holes in the leg or more adjustability on the foot would solve this.

It took a few times reading the instructions to understand the installation. The pictures in the instructions are so dark it is impossible to see what is being referenced. Directions were also not 100% clear on where the front part of the attachment bracket was to be mounted to the stair frame. Suggest using some type of cushioning between the rail and the trailer as the rail will bump up against and scratch the trailer if the trailer is not 100% stabilized. Overall it works well and is secure.

GOOD BUY, a must have

I saw this on the ABC's of RV's DVD and was ok with the fitting that was required to install it to my steps. All in all the wife likes it a lot. I will be installing a hose clamp on the top rail to the grab handle to remove the top play. If you have trouble entering your unit this is a must buy.

Telescoping Rail Mate

This product is wonderful if they ever get it more secured. It interfered with the door on our 5th wheel and it was moving back and forth so we had to tie a strap to the handrail on our camper to hold the upper part in place. Also, the hardware was cheap, the round foot on the bottom broke off and we had to get it welded and had to weld an extra piece to the base plate to move it over so the door would open and shut, and my husband was very upset about the installation... We used it this past weekend while camping and it was good only because of the changes we had made. Does really help for me, I just had my second knee replacement and the extra rail was great, just needs some more work stabilizing it.

Door interference

Check your clearances before installing. I called the manufacturer because when installed the rail interferes with the door. They are aware of the problem with some newer model fifth wheels. I have a 2014 Montana. They are sending me a temporary retrofit (shims for the mounting bracket). They expect a modified bracket soon. If you have a clearance problem, call Stromberg Customer Service.
