I have this system monitoring the tires on my Sanibel 5th wheel. While on the road they
work as advertised and are very reassuring, especially when traveling over some less
than optimal roads where irregular road surfaces can make you wonder if you might have
a problem. Support has been excellent. I did have a sensor fail and the support person
was very helpful, replaced it immediately (including new battery) and said to return the
defective sender when I was able. Couldn't have been easier.
The only slightly disconcerting issue is that, when the 5th wheel is disconnected, the unit
doesn't consistently issue an alert. I decided that this might well be by design... an alarm
every time I drop the trailer would be a pain. At any rate, I feel like the unit works reliably
and was well worth the investment.
Last week I picked up an S hook from a rubber snubber. Right in the side wall of my
outside dual. The tire minder gave me warning that I was loosing pressure and I was able to air up so I could make it to the next stop. The rather new tire (less than 10K miles and only 11 months old) could not be fixed but because I was able to keep up the pressure on the outside I did not need to purchase a new inside tire to the tune of $600.00 plus. Tire Minder therefore was well worth the money.
If your RV has tires then you need to get this TPMS. If you've ever seen or had a blowout then you know what I'm talking about. We have a 30 foot travel trailer and have never had any problems with signal loss. Having this on our trailer makes our trips a lot less stressful. Another big plus in my opinion is the company that makes this unit, Minder Research. Their customer service is incredible which is rare these days! The antenna came loose on our receiver. I mailed it back to them and had the replacement in a little over a week! They also have a battery replacement program; you send them your old batteries and they will replace them with fresh ones!
All articles about RVing tell you to check your tire pressure daily and before each trip. It was always a pain to do so on my 34 ft Southwind but not anymore! This unit works great. Just screw the sensors on the valve-stems, sync them with the monitor unit and you're ready to go. When we start a trip, I check the monitor, read each tire's pressure & temperature while in the drivers seat and away we go! This unit gives me great peace of mind and works well. I LOVE IT! Pricey but worth it.
Bought this a week ago and it only took about half an hour to set it up on my fifth
wheeler and pickup. All readings were within 2 pounds of the actual air pressures.
Yesterday a ran to town in my pickup without the fifth wheel and the monitor never indicated “no signal” from the fifth wheel. Called tech service when I got home and was told this was a new “feature” requested by owners of trailers. There is now a three hour delay before the “no Signal” readout is activated which allows you to make brief trips without your rig without the need to reacquire the signals which can take some time. Good feature, but there is no written explanation available from them or on their website. There are ways to override the feature but I never fully understood the process over the phone.
I was then told that they now recommend a booster on all fifth wheel installations and
were offering them for $35 freight included to registered owners. I took advantage of
the offer since I had been thinking about one any way. Bottom line, works good, price is right but Minder Research needs to get their act together on manual updates and the issue with the booster. All this should have been posted on their website at a minimum. There is no excuse for this.
I bought the TireMinder based on need and reviews. We
travel in a 5th wheel and have had many problems with tires
so I wanted to be able to keep better track of what's
happening on the road. I used this on my truck for a month
and had problems with a senor that said my tire temp was
20c. TireMinder tech support is great. They repaired and
sent back fast. Now on 3700+ mile trip and using on trailer
and truck. Problem I have now is when trailer and truck are
separated I do not get a alarm as I should. When I check
tires of trailer on the monitor, they still show pressure
and temp. I should get a no signal when the control unit is
more than 60+ feet away and I should get a alarm. Does not
make me feel real comfortable about accuracy. I also have
had several false alarms while driving. Will talk to Tech
Support again and get some advise. We are traveling in the
West and temps are running 80 to 100+.
Bought this unit from Camping World at the beginning of May, after seeing a competing system at our local Samboree here in SoCal. The trial run was out to the river (Parker, AZ), on my 28ft Winnabago coach, and towing a Jeep Wrangler; the system performed flawlessly. This system is worth the extra money over the competition.
My wife and I bought this to help monitor the tires on our drivable RV. We also purchased this to help monitor the tires on the Car Dolly that we will be purchasing to pull our VW Sports Wagon when we travel this year. I did allot of research and this unit was the best for
customer satisfaction and the bang for the dollar.
So far works as advertised. Appears to be a significant difference between the actual tire
pressure and what the monitor states. I use a digital pressure gauge and checked with 2
other dial gauges and had the same readings. All 4 tires set at exactly 80 psi cold and
Tire Monitor indicated a range of 74 - 77 psi per tire. I had to adjust my alarm level down
to compensate. I also rechecked after driving 100 miles and had the same readings.
Bottom line is if there is a problem I will know about it, that's what I wanted.
I installed the Tire Minder on my Mountaineer 29' Travel
Trailer and it has been working just fine so far. The first trip I got a lost sensor message on the left rear tire of my
trailer; but after about an hour it came back and gave the right pressure. It seems to be a good system to me.
This TPMS system is good for our 5th wheel. It is small, and the transmitter batteries are user replaceable, and the factory has a free battery exchange program until 2016 (or 2018, I cant remember). The only reason I didn't rate this as 5 stars is it seems the transmitters are not up to my calibration standards. If I thread a transmitter on and get a pressure reading of 63 psi, I can uremove (unthread), then reinstall and get a pressure of, say, 67 psi. That is within the manufacturers tolerance...just not mine...I would expect 1 or 2 psi difference at most. The unit does however warn of leaking and or
blowout conditions and will display temp as well, and that suits our needs.
After reading some other reviews I bought the hard wired signal booster and installed that before first use, so I cannot comment on signal strength w/out the booster, but WITH the booster I have had ZERO signal issues between our 33 ft 5th wheel and crew cab 1 ton
It was very easy to install and set up. I probably had less then an hour involved. The
alarm did go off once when a battery needed to be reset. I had peace of mind traveling
during triple digit ambient tempratures.
Just returned from the first trip using this system and was glad to have it.
I did and still do have some issues with a couple of the sensors, but have had great
response from Tire Minder Customer Service to get one of them replaced (another one
is acting up so i will need to contact them again) while in Colorado.
It does not stay charged for the 30 days as advertised. More like 7 days but was not a
real big deal.Mounted it right by my cup holder so it was easy to see and use while driving (and out of the way).Good buy for piece of mind!
I bought this after we had a blowout last summer on our 5th wheel and ruined the rim.
System installed very easy and directions were very good. I did have one issue with a
sensor registering higher than the PSI reading on a hard guage, but after several times removing the sensor and or battery, the sensor started reading correctly. I also have a sensor that gives a false temp reading as well but I am not too concerned with this. Make sure you set the warning several PSI below what you plan on running as the fluctuation of readings is around 1-2 PSI. I bought the system to let me know when I had a tire going down or had a blowout and so far this system has worked very well.
Just completed my first trip in a motor home,2056 mi. It was a real load off my mind to know what was going on with the tires. I had two alerts while in Texas. Both we're for high Pressure on the inner rear tires. I deduced that because of the heat in Texas, hot road, heat from the front engine, the inner tires were heating up causing the high pressure. The temperature was actually lower on the inner rear tires than the other tires which made no sense untill I remembered that the inner tire transmitters are on the outside of the outer rear tires and were giving a lower temp reading. As we got further north and cooler conditions we had no additional alerts. I do have an outside rear tire that apparently has a very slow leak.
It lost almost 15 PSI on the trip. Something to take care of BEFORE the next trip. My only
complaints I had to purchase an additional two transmitters and they did not have the
anti-theft locking rings.
I am impressed. It was easy to set up. It gives accurate pressure and temperature
imformation. I am now getting more sensors to monitor the spare tires on my 5th wheel and tow vehicle and another trailer I own. I will get another system for my 1999 Miata as I have ruined a tire on it without any prior warning.
This thing is great just having the piece of mind knowing that I can see an issue with a tire before it gets tore up from driving on a low or flat tire when we are on a trip is worth alot but add to that the temperature monitor and now I can see issues like a bearing heating up or a brake sticking before it leaves us stranded on the side of the road is
priceless. Thanks Minder this product is super.
The TireMinder needs Gorilla Glass for its Screen !!!!

So far the 22 Tire, TireMinder is working perfectly. I have 4 of the Transmitters on my 2008 American Hauler 18 foot Cargo Trailer. It has 4 - 16 inch Load Range E Tires that I run with 80 psi. The 4 transmitters are right on registering between 83 and 85 psi and the
tire temp is around 72 degrees. When the unit/package was delivered one of the transmitters had a broken clip that holds the watch battery in place under the screw on cap. I called TireMinder Research Inc. in FL and they immediately Express Mailed me a new one. But unfortunately it would not transmit no matter which tire I put it on or if I
changed to different psi. So,,, a call to TireMinder again and they Expressed Mailed me a new Transmitter and it works perfectly. I have the Receiver / Monitor sucked to my windshield of my 2008 RAM Truck down on my left side just above the dash. It's an easy glance at it to tell me the 4 tires status. The Windsheild Suction Holder is Super... But here's my one complaint,, The Monitor's viewing screen should be made from the Corning Ware's GORILLA Glass product. The same Indistructable Glass the Cell Phones have... I have already put a good Scratch into the screen by laying it down on the
passenger seat that might of had some sharpe metal stuff setting there... That's why I rate it 4 Stars and not 5. My next purchase is to get 6 more Transmitters for my RAM Crew Cab, Dually, then I should be all set... JACK* in Maumelle, ARkansas
Just got back from Florida to home in North Carolina. Used TireMinder for the round trip and it worked fine. Fortunately I did not get to test its ability to let me know about low pressure or a flat. The piece of mind having it monitoring my tires was good enough for me. The unit is small and unobtrusive. Had one false alarm and removing and reinstalling
the sensor fixed it. Happy so far with the unit and would recommend it.
Been using this product for over a year on a small class C. Get a lost sensor reading once in a while but it corrects in a shorttime. For the most part this product does what it is designed to do. Would recommend the Tire Minder to anyone.
We haven't used the motorhome since I installed it. It seems to give an accurate
reading. I bought the system because I had an inside duel go down, It put all the
weight on the outside tire which caused it to blow out. The Tire Minder will allow me to keep an eye on the tires while going down the road.
Was very impressed at the ease of installation. I did get messed up once correcting air pressures and turned the dually sensors around, but easily was fixed. I installed this in September of 2011 First trip out I became aware of a dramatic increase in pressure and temperature in my RH front tire. Further inspection reveals brake dust all over the
tire, so I am assuming this might unveil a possible sticky caliper. Something I had no idea was going on until I installed this unit! Will keep y'all posted but so far so good!
I purchased this system to prepare for a 6 hour trip to Sequoia National Park hauling a 9000 Lb 5th wheel with dual-axles. I read the reviews for this and other systems and chose this one based on those reviews. I'm glad I did!
The system was complete with extra batteries (nice touch!) and locks for the sensors. The instructions were easy to follow, the system was easy to set up and everything worked flawlessly from the start to the end of our trip 6 days later. I drive a 1999 F350 Crew cab dually and I estimate the length between the sensors and the receiver to be about 30 feet. The system boasts distance of up to 60 feet. I never lost readings or got errors and the system provided up-to-the-moment readings whenever I wanted.
I am very pleased with this product and will purchase sensors for the truck when I can.
Used a set of four on our Montana 5th wheel from Colorado to Florida to Texas and back to Colorado over 6 months. Rechargable battery on unit nice as no cord necessary unless charging. Charged about once a month. Only one sensor reading was off by a few pounds, but within the tech range that comes with the unit. Nice to know high temps, high or low pressure, and of course blowout indications. A set of good tires helps. If you can't get into the habit of watching your tires in your rear view mirrors every minute, then this may be the peace of mind you need. We will get 4 more
sensors for the pickup when we replace its tires. Would definitely buy again.
I had a blow out on my hummer while towing it behind my motorhome. I always travel with my camera on and did not notice anything, no pull, no movement , nothing coming
off. I had $7000.00 damage when the tire blew and wiped off the drivers side of the hummer. Purchased the Tire minder from Camping World in Henderson NV ( great bunch of people there and willing to make the customer happy) and very pleased with its operation and ease of use. Hit a piece of wood on the way back to Canada and it notified me that the tire had gotten a hole in it. Very pleased that I have it now. I use it on a 40 ft diesel pusher and have no problems. Just make sure that if you have sensors from factory that you get the aluminum sensors for the tow vehicle.
I purchased the system before we began our cross country winter travels. We drive a Damon Challenger 38' class A motorhome and tow a Saturn Ion. We monitor all tires on both units. The system was a little confusing when I first attempted to install it but a quick call to the customer service guys and we were set except for one sensor which appeared to be bad. They quickly replaced the defective sensor and I mean within a few days. Great customer support. Best buy and really gives you some peace of mind when traveling.
After extensive internet research I finally bought the TireMinder for my 40' diesel pusher and the pickup truck I tow. Also bought the 12V signal amplifier.Installed the system with relative ease. The next morning one of the TMS said one of
the sensors battery was drained. I figured I had a bad battery and replaced the battery and put the sensor back on my truck. Within about 6 hours the TMS said the battery was dead again. I contacted the mfg and was VERY impressed with their customer
comes first attitude. The person I was speaking with asked if I was going on a trip soon and I told her I was leaving in four days. She said their normal policy was to ask for the sensor to be returned and then send out a new one but because time was short she overnighted the new sensor to me and trusted that I would return the defective unit when I could, which I did the following day. New sensor did the trick and the TMS
performed perfectly the entire trip. I do try to check my tire pressure regularly but
sometimes I get a little lazy only to wonder if my tire pressure is good once I'm on the road. With the TMS you can easily check all the tires on the rig and toad in less than a minute before hitting the road. Great product and backed by a good company.
Purchased this system right after returning the Hopkins system. Sets up in minutes, receiver can be carried around
the vehicles when setting up the tires which is great. The only downfall is when stopped and the tires cool we get a
false leak alarm. We have used it for about 5,000 miles now and it is still working perfectly.
I bought this to monitor the tires on my trailer and tow vehicle. It works great in all respects! Not only does it
warn you of low pressure, but it alerts you to a rapid and not so rapid fall in pressure, an unsafe increase in
pressure and, an unsafe high temperature in any wheel! The
screen is easy to read in all lighting. It is easy to set up. The batteries in the sensors are customer replaceable!
With the optional signal booster, I never lost the signal from my trailer's tires during a recent 1800 mile trip. And,
if you drive away from the trailer, it does not warn you of a signal loss until 3 hours have passed and then it just
notifies you once, with a clear, no signal indication. If you want piece of mind while towing, get this system!
Yes, this can be used on horse trailers. The manufacturer recommends having the optional booster in place when using in this way.

This is just a 4 tire system, what is the cost of a 6 tire system?
by AnonymousDecember 12, 2012
This system will monitor up to 22 tires, just add the extra sensors (set of 2, item 52522).
December 13, 2012
Are there settings for multiple pressures?
I have tires that require different pressures between the tow vehicle, trailer and toad. Does this unit respond to each vehicle's pressures or do you have to set it for one pressure. Mine range from 32 PSI in the toad to 125 in the trailer and 120 and 95 on the tow vehicle.
by AnonymousDecember 12, 2012
This system gives you the option to program each individual sensor, accomodating for the difference between the tow vehicle and trailer(s).
