Sensor Issues

We purchased this system in October 2009, travelled approx. 2,200 miles and three (3) tire sensors have failed. All have been replaced at no cost but doesn't this defeat the purpose of the system? Not happy and will ask for refund if it happens again.

Sensor issues

We've had a 10-sensor system for about 3 years. Negative points: *A sensor just failed and will need to be replaced. *The sensors do not report with 100% reliability. Sometimes it's a rear sensor, sometimes a front sensor. *if there is an alarm (low pressure, high temperature) one must scroll through all stations to find the offender. The alarm icons are tiny, so it is hard to know what is wrong. *The sensor wrench, which is essential for mounting and demounting, is a piece of tin that is easily bent. If it failed, it would be very hard to remove the sensor. Imagine trying to do that at the side of the road with a tire that had a slow leak. Other products have an inflation port that can be used without removing the sensor. That might be worthwhile. Positive points: *90% of the sensors have been accurate. *The price is very attractive. *The display is clear.

Air leeks

I bought four of the 135 deg. valve extenders to support the Tire Pressure sensors. They all leaked air between the monitor and the extender and were not usuable. Be sure to use all steel stems and extenders and do not use the recommended extenders here. TST system works well.

Purchased at Camping World in Tampa. Great product, outstanding customer service. If you have questions, call the manufacturer direct and don't be surprised if the owner calls you back and personally assists you with any issues. He did when we had questions and that was very impressive. Would not be on the road without it and Camping World install and replacement plan is great.

TST tire pressure monitor

You need to plan ahead as to how you want to mount the tire sensors. The fronts are easy, inside duels have a valve extender on most RV's so they are easy. The outside duels can be a problem. I had a tire shop remove the outside duels, add the 135 degree valve extenders and the system works fine. It is a little problem to remove the sensors and fill the tire but it is far better to know your air pressure at all times.

Easy Instalation

I am giving one star beacause the system has not been installed at this point. I have a Class A Motor Home with dual rear wheels. My problem is that I can't get to the tire air valves in order to screw on the sensors. On the front wheels, the air valve lines up with the hub cap hole, but is too short to get my fingers in to screw on the sensors. I will need a valve extender, which will compromise the anti-theft feature. The valve on the inside rear dual is ok, since it came with valve extender, but unfortunatley is long enough to again compromise the anti theft feature. On the outside dual, the valve is horizontal to the hole in the hub cap so I will need a 90 degree valve extender And I'm not sure if I can get my fingers close enough to the valve to screw on the extendor. The wheel may have to come off to straighten the valve. With the "easy to install" statement in the advertising, I didn't think I would have to take the Motor Home to a Camping World to have the system installed (150 miles round trip, and more $). I feel TST should point out these potential problems in thier advertisments so the purchaser is more aware of what additional items may be needed.. Additionally. This is only stated in the instruction manual (which is read after purchase). If you have to take the hub cap off, be sure they are not bolted on. I'm used to hub caps that "pop" off and now have one that is bent up. I'll report again when the system is fully installed.
