Better than a Fantastic vent fan

Installation not as complex as fantastic, since existing vent housing is used. Added this fan over the bed to bring in the cool night air. It is not as loud as the fantastic vent because the fan is mounted more remotely. Thermostat works great, 3 fan speeds, and in or outward air flow. The nice thing is in winter, or cold season, you can install an insulating pillow to keep heat in. You can't do that with a Fantastic vent fan. Highly recommend.

Turbo/Maxx Model 1200T

I have a permanent vent fan in my Fleetwood Prowler 5er. The motor went bad and I ordered the exact replacement fan in that you can't buy just the motor. The idea was to cannibalize the new kit so I wouldn't have to do MAJOR surgery to the rv to replace a bad motor. The new motor lasted about three months. Grrrrrrrrrr So's I found THIS. It took me two hours to install and was one of the nicest custom install projects I have ever had the pleasure to participate in! The manufacturer thought of everything! I did read the PDF instruction manual prior to the delivery so I had the jump on it when it arrived! Additionally the good folk at Maxx have replacement fans so when it dies (and it eventually will) I just have to buy a new one!

TurboMaxx Fan/Vent

The TurboMaxx Fan is a great add-on to any Camper or Motorhome. This was my second install and the first with the new hinged design. Installation is straight forward and the instructions are well written. My only dislike on this model vs the older version is the Knobs. The older version you had a visual indicater where it was set at. On the New version their is not a pointer as to where the Thermostat or the fan speed is set at.

Turbo/Maxx Deluxe 1200T Ceiling Fan/Vent w/ thermostat

I have a 45' motor coach and installed this in the aft bathroom. This way, WHILE DRIVING, I close the mid coach/bedroom door and only need to run the two forward a/c's, and not the aft a/c, letting the fan cool and vent the aft section of the coach. Works well as advertised when set up at camp. It was easy to install. I also went to the web site and watched the installation video which probably made the instillation easier. The fan is fairly quiet in all modes except High ( in exhaust mode) which is louder then I anticipated, but acceptable. Also, it should be offered in black, not just white. They sent me the instructions on how to paint it, but one would need a paint shop as it similiar to painting a car bumper made of the same material. I probably could have tried a plastic spray paint, but would it stick doing 70 mph with rain etc hitting it.

A great upgrade!

Our 5th wheel came with a small fan in the bathroom. It was not enough to draw the moisture out from showers or to draw in the cool air when the trailer heats up on those hot days. Neither is a problem now, great upgrade for any trailer and with the fan being external it is relatively quite. Thermostat takes some getting used to to find appropriate setting but worth the few extra dollars. Unit is very easy to install with simple to follow directions. I do recommend having sharp or new drill bits, some extra wire and connectors on hand when installing.

We purchased one of these units from this website. After installing it (very good instructions are provided) we tested it per the instructions and all was well. After mounting the controller we turned it on. The fan didn't work and smoke came from the controller's circuit board. After that nothing worked. OH OH! We called MaxxAir's customer support number. They were very understanding and said that they'd ship us a new controller - no questions asked! We were also able to talk to their tech support who reviewed our installation and verified that we had done everything OK. When we got the shipment it wasn't just a new controller but a whole new fan! After installing the new unit (and holding our breath) everything works great! Things go wrong with all products - we expect that. What we hope for is a company who cares enough about their customers to do whatever it takes to correct the situation. MaxxAir is such a company and they can count us as loyal customers who will spread the word.

Turbo/Maxx V/S Fantastic Fan

Both of these products are excellent. Our 1998 Motor Home came equipped with a Fantastic Fan in the living area, and I installed a Maxx Air Cover over it to allow the cover to remain open without water intrusion. It fit perfectly. Wanting better ventilation in the bathroom, I installed a Turbo/Maxx Ceiling Fan/vent with Thermostate. The model was available with an infinite varible speed fan. I left the orignal closing vent intact. Worked great. Very quiet. Moves at least as much air as the Fantastic. Our new Motor Home, a 2005 is now equipped the same way except, there is no longer a infinite speed fan available for the Maxx . Installation is NOT difficult. Both Fantastic and Maxx are great products, but never cover a Fantastic Fan with a small Maxx Vent Cover, it will restrict air flow.

Way easier to install, quieter, more efficient on low, can be run in rain. four out of four. Its only drawback is that it extends to the rear, which could cause a clearance problem.

It works good in the Bathroom

I installed this fan in my bathroom. The fan is easy to install, and it has a great vent cover. Now that I have this fan in my bathroom, I never get any steam. My mirror does not steam up at all now. It is good to get that moisture out because moisture can cause damage. Now having said that. I also installed 2 Fantastic Fans in the non-bathroom areas of my motorhome. The Fantastic fans are of definate Superior Quality. They are solid and well built. They are wired perfectly, so that if you close the vent lid, the fan will shut off automatically.. I would use only the Fantastic fans except for. They do not kake a vent housing for the Fantastic fans. You have to buy the Maxx Air vent lids to fit the Fantastic Fans, because the Maxx Air vent lids are big and wide enough to fit over the Fantastic Fans. (at least so I have been told). I have gotten used to doing without the vent lids for the 2 roof vents in the main part of my motorhome. Standard size vent lids will not fit over the Fantastic fans. So, my suggestion is this. Use Fantastic fans with Maxx Air vent lids, and if possible, go without a vent lid at all, because vent lids decrease the air flow by 30% or more. Thanks

I was looking for a replacement for my old vent fan in the bathroom and wanted something with more power and durability. The wiring was very simple and mounting was also a one person job. Even on low power, I could feel the draft from the living quarters being sucked under the bathroom door. I was unfortunate enough to pass under some low Oak Tree limbs one day but this thing took the beating with no damage whatsoever. Strong, Quiet and Simple!

Installation went well...

I just installed it and am playing with the controls. Installation is straight-forward, and directions are good. However, 3 of the bolts that attach the brackets to the existing vent broke while installing them. No, I did not really tighten them. I went out and bought all new bolts, as I'm not sure I trust any of them.. When I got it installed, it really does a nice job of moving air. Took about 2 hrs because I was being carefull. That didin't include the run to the hardware for the new bolts.

We just finished installing our vent in the bathroom. Power was already available, so the installation was easy. We love the operation of the fan, and even though it is a little louder than I would like, you can really feel the air flow, and we are already getting used to the sound. Great product, great instructions, and so far, great performance!

This unit will suck the dust from the carpet, it really gets the job done. We can cool a closed up motorhome in 4 minutes. The dog likes the fresh air while parked awaiting our return. Very easy to install. Keeps restroom very fresh.
