I think this cover will be my last install on this vent. I believe you could run over it with your car and it would not break. It is a little heavier but works just find. I also lubed the gears on the opener before I installed it. I recommend it highly.

We ordered 3 of these to replace ours that were ruined during a recent hail storm. Only one of the three were usable without repairs. One had the rail on backwards and the other one, the rivets on the hinge were either lose or broken. Luckily my husband had a rivet gun and the rivets that were the right size to repair the broken ones.. I called Camping World upon receipt and told them about the poor condition and quality of these vent lids. They are not cheap and be prepared to send back if you order any. We like the material, and hope they will last as long as promised. Time will tell.

Seems to be a good product, but I don't know if it is really a proper fit for our vent. Ours was broken on our 1996 Fourwinds so we had to replace. So far seems to be ok.

This should be the standard vent lid on RV's. It's much stronger and more durable than the standard lids. You can actually step on it without fear of breaking it. It took about 10 minutes to install- fairly easy following the directions. The only drawback is that it doesn't allow as much light through as the standard lid, apparently a drawback of the much thicker material.

Got the vent installed with more than 10 or 15 minutes spent doing it( more like 2 or 3 hours) trying to get it to work because it ; would not crank up, coming down is no problem. Only way to open it was for someone to be on the roof and gently pull up as you crank..We bought two of these things and decided not to install the 2nd one until it was needed. Rigged up something to push it up from inside while turning the crank...this was a bummer. We did get the right one, but the inside metal that the lift rod fits on is of a different design than the one that was taken off..totally different. Problems all around...
