Great product for those with vacation trailers and slide in campers where vents are a well used feature. Be sure to wash cover on ...GENTLE cycle in cold water, fluff on no heat in the dryer and remove to finish drying. They shrink, which compresses the foam pillow causing it to fall out of the vent .
I have used for 2 1/2 years in 38 ft Class A and think they are excellent-keep heat out in summer and cold out in winter. 2 fit w...ell and don't fall out. Doesn't work well in one vent -even switching cushions. Also help to darken coach when parked under a lamp post at night.. Switching them to 22 ft Class C now and seem to fit OK. Very pleased with item.
Priced right, and does a great job keeping heat in. Also keeps light out for those mid afternoon knaps. If you are using your coa...ch in winter or summer this is a must for your roof vent. Fits very well into vent, and accomidates the crank also.
Temps much cooler inside. A/C accually shuts off now!

Works as advertised in three different vents, all of which have hand cranks. Noticeable difference during the hot, Summer days. ...My A/C unit accually shuts off now. Tried them during the July 4th holiday in the Washington DC area with temps in the high 80s to low 90s and high humidity.
I bought them and they work well in my Damon Challenger. They stay in place and fit well with the crank. I also bought the solar c...over before I bought the fill pillow. Thjose were great out west in the heat. Now I put the pillow in and cover it with the solar cover. Keeps heat in during winter and keeps the heat and light out in summer. Great buy, have had no problem with either purchase.
We have had the Vent Cushions for about 5 years and it was the best up-grade we could have made. We HAD those flimsy foil type win...dow shade covers and they are not for a vent. The vent cushion blocks the light totally on those sleep late mornings, insulates against heat and moreso, cold. Cold drops and if you have a vent over the bed, and the cold is dropping, you'll wish you had one in place. At the sale price, you're foolish not to get one for each vent.
We bought two of these vent cushions for our trailer. They work great and really do add some much needed insulation to the vents.... They stay in place very well. We've even left them in the vent while on the road and they sometimes stay on some of the roughest roads. In addition to plugging up the vent, we use one to hold our TV set in place. We just simply wedge one between the TV and the top of the cabinet, and it does a great job of keeping the TV in place.
This product fits tightly in the roof vents of my Winnebag. It really shuts out the light, which is the main reason why I purchase...d it. Later, I found out that it does a very nice job of keeping out the heat on hot days and keeping in the heat on cold days.
Just finished a 2 week trip in the Southwest through TX, NM, AZ, and CA. At one point the temp reached over 110 deg. F in Tucson.... These cushion's worked great - I bought 3 for this trip - one for the rear bed room fan, one for the bath fan, and one for the kitchen fan. All worked perfect - the stayed put on the road, helped keep out the heat, and for the rear bedroom, also kept out the light!
I thought that I might as well give you my .02 cents worth. I added three of the New Shurflo Comfort Series fans to o...ur 5er. I have held off ordering these Vent cushions, because the New vent fans sit lower in the 14X14 opening that the old standard Vents did. So I decided to buy them and give them a try. I was very pleased that they fit perfectly. I did have to give them a little push, to make them go all the way to the top of the fan. This Vent cushions are more than tight enought to stay in place. These Vent Cushions will make a big difference in the summer and in the winter also. My only regreat, was that I didn't buy them sooner. They make a nice addition to our 5er. Happy Camping All. Dan & Jill
Yes ,my wife and i love thses vent cushions, they keep in the cool a/c air in the summer ,and the warm heat air in the cold weathe...r,they really do a great job in our class a motorhome.we bought one for every vent to use in.
I have a Four Winds 5000 Class C with the crank vent over the bunk. I can't figure out how to get this thing in to stay! If I simp...ly place it in position, it falls out. if I tape it in, it falls out. I'm not willing to remove the crank handle and screen as I don't want to lose the option of opening the vent and, as I have cats traveling with me, and modification is asking for trouble! There were no instructions for modifying the cushion, so it is stored under the sofa and has been for a year. It is September and I am in New Mexico where it has snowed twice and the temp is below freezing at night, so I would appreciate any advice. Let me know at [email protected] Thanks!
Bought three of them. They work great. Fits perfectly and stays put. Blocks out all the light. Have one in bedroom, bathroom and l...iving area. Not only do they keep the heat out in the summer, in addition to blocking the light coming in, they also help now in the cooler weather by keeping the cold air out too. They are great.
Bought 3 and all have my vents have crank and also bathroom has motor button.. Had to remove the covers on all 3 so that I could ...also use the solar covers., it was too thick. They fit perfect after a small quarter size hole maybe 1/2 inch deep for the cranks and also the bathroom on and off buton about 1/2 inch deep. Then place all 3 with the solar covers over it to hide it.. Looks great and YES they do keep the heat out and light. And come winter I bet they are AWESOME for the heat inside the coach and to keep cold air coming in.. Drive down the road and still not one slip down even with the solar cover remove to get a little light. in .Wife idea too dark.
I just hope that the sun wrong burn up the form because the form cover iscompletly remove by zipper on all 3 foams. . It was too thick for my 2006 Class A motorcoach which are 14 x 14 opening with the white outside roof vent . With the solar cover on the inside the coach had to remove the zipper covers the way they came will fit the 14 x 14 openings with no problems just thick looking for my new coach. All in all this is a great product. HANDS DOWN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Wasn't looking for these, but we're sure glad we found them! As others have noted, they really do keep the light out, which is wh...y we originally bought two of them for our trailer -- especially the vent right above our bed. When we realized they actually do keep outside heat and cold out, plus air conditioning or heat in.....well, that was an added bonus. So what's not to like? We've had no trouble keeping them in place, either.
I bought 2 of these for my travel trailer. They work great! They block most if not all the light from the vent while providing v...ery good isnulation from the heat and cold. They fit snuggly into the vent. you can actual travel with them in place and not have to worry about them falling out. Definately worth the money!
I have owned two of these vent cushions for about a week. In my case, they fit perfectly in place and show no sign of falling out.... On the other hand, I can't say they have served any purpose that I am aware of temperature wise. There are just too many variables when it comes to insulating an RV: windows, thin walls, thin roofs, and little insulation to speak of. In this instance I also have a skylight that allows plenty of cold night air in. I had to give them a try though in the hope that I could salvage a few extra degrees inside. I don't regret the purchase.
Just came back from a camping trip where temps were 101 degrees
and the trailer became so hot that the air conditioner ran const...antly. I
had just received an order from Camping World and brought the
package with me. After two days I opened the package and decided
to try the two vent cushions. They just push up into the vent and fit
snuggly. What a difference - absolutely no heat coming in through the
vents! After a couple of days, I was curious and pulled out one of the
cushions. The top of the cushion was very hot while the bottom was
completely cool. When it cooled down at night, I simply removed the
cushions and opened the vents. Excellent product!
I bought three of these in July of 07 while near Atlanta GA going to
school for three months. Temps were over 100 degrees for al...l but a
handful of days. Some started out over 100 at 6am. AC still didn't shut
off because I like it cold (my wife says if there are no icicles I am
going to say it is hot) but inside temps were about ten degrees cooler
after installing them. We had to get a newer camper this year and I
took them with me. I now want to find one that will fit the skylight in the
bathroom. I take them out during storage and leave the vents partially
open because they have vent covers on them and it keeps fresh air
flowing so there is no smell in the spring.
I bought two of these three years ago and found they helped to keep the trailer cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter. Th...ey made a big difference. I moved them to our present trailer and bought three more. Two fit the skylight over the shower.
These are the best, they do exactly what they are advertised to do .We
bought ours on sale and I just don't what we waited for.Ke...eps the
heat in and cold out,and helps keep the light out from the vent, directly
over the bed in our RV.Breeze to install and one of the better
investments I have made for our RV.These are a must have ,once
you purchase them you will see exactly what I mean
We have 4 vent openings in our 33ft. 5th wheel and they let in a lot of light, cold air in the winter and heat in the summer. I...'d had already tried the uninsulated roll up type and didn't like them at all as they didn't insulate much and they kept falling off the velcro and since the ceiling was white, and they were silver, they looked out of place & everyone noticed them. Then I saw these vent cushions in a camping world out west and decided to try one and see how they
worked. The cushions were deep, fit right into the openings and even though they come with velcro to hold in place, I've never used it. They have stayed there through every rough road we went over in our 5th
wheel the past 5 years. They are white in color on all sides but one and one side is a silver top lining that you turn up to the sky and the silver reflects the sun, cold and heat. They look good and blend in to the ceiling also. The only problem with the silver foil is that over time, (4 yrs.) the clear bubble wrap that's over the silver foil, deteriorates then the clear bubble layer and silver flakes off slowly. So I just replaced one of them and will do the rest soon. They have a zipper so you can take out the foam and hand wash if they get dirty also. I will continue to use these as long as I have a RV. My husband likes the one over the bed best as it keeps the light out when he wants to sleep late. They are Great!!
I have had a vent cushion for 2 summers, it goes from 90's during the
day to below freezing on some weekends in the middle of On...tario and
this works great. Heat and cold are completely blocked and also
keep light out for the morning sleep in.
It works exactly like advertised.
We recently purchased two of these vent cushions for our 5th wheel. We think they are great! They stay in place during travel; a...nd block out light, heat, and cold. We feel they are an exceptional buy!
We bought these for all three of our roof vents. During the winter
months we use an ADCO RV cover (which is sensational!!) and ...
we put these cushions in and it stays very dry and cozy inside.
After 7 months, I was amazed that there is absolutely no sign of
any mildew on them, they look like brand new! So easy install
and remove! Why not??
I bought these for all my roof vents and they do just what they advertise. Cool in the summer and warm in the winter but just be...
careful and not jam them in too far. I don't know if I pushed too hard or if it was the accumulated heat build-up during the summer months that caused the plastic around my vents to bend or melt but it
happened. I still love this product and would recommend them to everyone as one of their must haves for their RV - just be careful!
Low cost, viable solution to heat transfer during hot weather. I expect it to work as well in cold weather keeping the heat in. ...Fits standard vents as well as bathroom vent and does not interfere with vent handle.
We just purchased 3 of them for our RV and found that they REALLY
do work. It was in the low 30's over Thanksgiving at the coas...t and it
really helped having those in. It did help keep the cold out and the
heat in. Especially for the bed that drops down from the ceiling in our
toy hauler. The couple that slept there for said that before I put those
in, they could feel the cold from the vent. After that they couldn't feel
the cold. It also helped keep the light out so that they could sleep in.
They never moved while traveling either. I would say that I wish we
would have gotten these things a long time ago! Great investment!
Will not work on all 14x14 vents pictures on line are decieving
cushions will only work if you have 3 inches of depth to shove ...
cushions into and no screen in place, however if thats not your case
they should work fine.
We were experiencing a lot of thermal lose through our door windows and roof vents. We bought these to cover the roof vents and th...ey seem to work fine. They were installed the end of August 2009 and we camped the end the month and the did well. The sun was not as intense as earlier in the summer but I think they will do well.
We have used the cushions not only for insulation purposes, but to keep outside light from interfering with sleep. The
cushions a...re easy to install and remove and are well worth the nominal price. They are a "must have."
Started with one in old travel trailer. Bought two more for new 5th wheel. Really can
make the difference in comfort during the ...hottest or coldest of days/nights. At first, all
my friends laughed at them, but I belive they all have them now!
I recently purchased an RV with both the solar vent cover, and the cushion placed in the bedroom vent. I was amazed at
how easily... these stayed in place, and did the job of keeping light and heat out. A true wonder. I am planning to purchase a set for the kitchen next.
I put these in our new camper and never removed them. They were in there for about a year and I had to replace the outside vent co...vers on all the vents. They were all very brittel and one already had a crack in it. If you use these I woud recommend leaving them out when
your camper is being stored, and not under cover. They do a great job keeping sunlight out of the camper.
They work as described. The cover is a fake lamb's wool which makes it look very warm, but is really mostly for show. The foam i...nside is the real insulation. I would have liked the removable cover to be a thin, waterproof nylon so that it wouldn't get dirty easily and would protect the foam from dampness. If that foam does get damp, and then develops mildew, good luck cleaning it. So I covered the foam with a thin plastic trash bag and put it back in the cover. On a positive note, these seem to fill the space very well with no leakage of cold air. They deserve a high rating, but I couldn't give them 5
I purchased it for the vent located over the bed at the front of the RV to keep the light out. It keeps the light out and also the... hot and cold temperture. Liked it so much, I purchased another one at the Colfax Camping World location for the bathroom to help insulate against the weather.
The Vent Cushion is certainly well-suited to fill the inside opening of a 14 inch ceiling vent to protect against light
and heat ...or cold from coming in.The color matches our ceiling very well. Thinking about getting another one for
Ordered and was received within five days well packed. Installs very easy and blocks most light and insulates well.Snug fit makes ...it stay even rolling down the road. When
not used as a vent cover it doubles as a cushion on couch or bed. Will be standard in all future RV for us.
These are great! Not only are they functional - keeping drafts out and heat in - they are also nice enough in
appearance to use ...as a throw cushion! The cover is removable and washable and it is easy to it back on the foam.
This vent cushion is great for keeping the early morning sun out of our trailer bedroom. The sun always woke our grandson but now... he sleeps until we get up. It's great to get that extra hour or two!
These vent cushions provide a simple and efficient means of cutting down on solar heating during summer months and heat loss durin...g the winter. They fit snugly into the recess of the vent and provide about 4 inches of added insulation. Being in the southeastern US, this can really make a notable difference in getting the coach cooled
Just purchased two vent cushions. I think they are great and keep the trailer cooler since it sits in storage outside in 100 degr...ee weather! Look forward to winter camping and see how they work. Wish the company that produced these would make a product that would fit in the sky light over the tub. Think I will try like one reviewer suggested and place two vent cushions in the skylight.
Would be a five-star product, but for the fact that I need to pop out my vent screen every time I install the cushion. I fear my ...plastic-framed screen will fail soon if this is the only way to enable the cushion to fit into the vent cutout.
These cushions are sure to impress! On those days when you're looking to sleep in and that annoying sun comes shining through the... vent, you'll wish you'd had installed these. They simply push into the vent frame -- nothing to install, no velcro. We added one to the bath vent and simply pull it out when we need to vent the bath. The cover is easily removed (zippered) and laundered as needed. An inexpensive fix that will surely pay for itself in just a few months by saving you money on your electric bill.
I like to sleep in a cool dark room, but it's tough to do with a translucent roof vent. This vent cushion makes it dark and it ins...ulates....the room is noticeably cooler. Another feature is that it won't fall out when you travel.
I wanted to sheild light to be able to sleep in later than sun up. I bought the vent cushions. Since then I see other devices like... solar screens etc. as options. These cushions are great and I would not trade. They were inexpensive, yet they do what I wanted, plus they add great insulation from heat or cool. I leave my camper hooked up, vent cushions in the vents, and air conditioning on (80degrees) when stored to limit
humidity. It has it's own electric meter. My electric bill for the camper was down 1/3rd. I would highly recommend these.
I have one in all 4 vents in my trailer. Last year we were caught in the winter storm in Oklahoma and with the Vent Cusion in pla...ce the vents iced over because of the insulation the cushion provided. This is a good thing. It shows how much the cushion insulates the vent, not allowing heat to be wasted out the vent. Easy to put in place and they don't fall down while traveling.
You can feel the heat trapped in these cushions so we are convinced they make a difference. We like how it blocks out light also. ... We bought these type
cushions from two different companies but like these the best because they are white like our
ceiling so blends in much better and has solar
reflective material our other one does not.

My bedroom vent is right over the center of my bed and the light coming thru it keeps my wife awake. The cover arrived and we trie...d it out. No more light. I think the shipping charge was high but the cover was well worth the cost. Well made and fits perfect.
The Vent Cushion does a great job keeping the heat in the trailer! Used it for the first time this last weekend and the temp diffe...rence was amazing.Only issue I had was due to the smooth surfaces of our vent the cushion would keep slipping out after a minute or two. Removing the cover and just pressing the foam into the
vent solved this. I’ll find another use for the cover.
Was a little worried when we ordered these as to the fit in our vents. But they went right
up in the vent and stayed there even ...while we were traveling..Helps keep the coolness
in plus keeping the heat in so it was a win win situation. .These really helped keeping
the early morning light out of the bedroom also. Priced these at dealerships, way more
expensive..Camping World prices have been great on everything that we have bought..
Purchased 3 Vent Cushions for the fan openings on our trailer. Used them the first
time during 90 degree weather with the A/C ru...nning and what a difference they make!!
Kept our trailer cool by blocking out the heat and sun and less wear and tear on our A/C
unit! I would recommend!
The vent cushion works very well in blocking heat, cold, and sunlight as it is very dense. From another source, we had gotten a v...ent cushion and thought this one would be exactly the same. The previous cushion had a foil backed layer to it which kept heat out better. But both cushions fit well in our vent openings and stay in place until removed. Just wish there was one for the rectangular skylight above the shower. We purchased the pull shade for that.
This is a good product, however it gets very hot if left in. I solved the problem by cutting a piece of naugahide with white in on...e side and black on the other, this solve two problem, one it cut down on the heat and it also cut down on the light, which was the main reason we orderd it.
These are a great item to have. I ordered 3, and am very glad I did. They reduce the temperature by a good 10 degrees. I bought th...em to block the light so we could sleep in. The extra feature of cool was an added bonus. They fit tight and are easy in and out!
Reduced the interior temperature significantly in 90 degree sunshine. Purchased one for bathroom and living room vent. Easy in and... easy out. Well worth the money even if I had
not bought them on sale!
Even though we've had 7 RV's, we had never used any of these before. I just put 2 in my
current travel trailer and I cannot beli...eve how much it drastically cuts down on the heat
level that comes through the closed vent opening. It seems to help the A/C work more
efficiently in the trailer when it's so hot when we camp here in FL where we live. I would
definitely recommend getting these for your ceiling fan vents as they easily push up into
the openings. I even have the vent shade installed that is still able to pull across the
opening with the cushion in place.
I love this as it keeps the bright light out of our bedroom in the morning by blocking the
sunlight from coming thru the vent! I... wish they made one for the shower skylight :) It looks a little wrinkly but soft up on the ceiling and works well.
We have a brand new 5th wheel and had issues with vent covers sweating and
moisture. The vent that we have do not have a insulat...ed model cover type, so we
bought these . They fit well and seem to work for the problem we have.
Does not loosen or fall out during travel. Kept heat from escaping through the vent while we were on our way to Florida. Kept the ...cool air in once we got there. Still allowed some light to filter through so the rooms didn't darken to pitch black. Worth the money :)
I like to take naps sometimes when we travel. The skylight
is right above the bed. This product fit like a glove into
the skylig...ht and blocked the light so I could rest. When we
were on the road, it didn't fall out either. Plus, it fit
in a way that we didn't have to remove our crank. Very good
This vent cushion is perfect for blocking out the sun over our bed!!! It fits perfectly and
doesn't fall down one bit. I wouldn'...t hesitate to buy another one if I needed to in the
future. Perfect fit for what I was needing!
These vent cushions were ordered to keep the heat out on a permanent trailer located in
the Keys Florida. It's doing it's job ve...ry well. The cushions are made with quality material
and fit great. They haved saved money in the running of the A/C.
I bought the cushions to block the cold air in winter. The
temperature is below zero this morning. When I put my hand
on the cus...hion I can feel no cold coming through. They fit
snug in the vent opening and have never fallen out. The
zippered cover is easy to remove from the cushion for
cleaning but I have not laundered the covers yet so I can't
comment on that. They are attractive on the ceiling and a
good investment. I would buy them again in the future.
Have standard vents does not fit properly without modification, if manufacturer did not cheap out by not making it an inch bigger ...in circumference so it would compression fit it would probably be quite effective, very disappointed, makes an adequate pillow in a pinch.
Keeps outside temps out and inside temperatures inside. Easy to use, just push into
place, works even if a roll handle is presen...t. Can be removed just as easily if you wish to
open the vent for airflow.
I bought these for my vents. They block the light very well and reduce the heat as well. I
changed one of my vents recently and ...installed a maxxair vent. So, I repurposed the vent
cushion. It works great as a couch pillow as well. Who knew? Great product.
These vent cushions are very thick and plush! They fit into the vent area perfectly. I
have two vents. I also bought two more an...d put them in the skylight over the shower and
they work great there too. I recommend these to anyone trying to keep the heat out of
their rv or the sunlight out for those that work nights! They are GREAT!
These are designed to fit the 14 x 14 vents (standard crank-up vent) and measure 3" thick.
