Upgrade your old, inefficient powered vent easily without replacing the entire vent or disturbing the rooftop seal.

Just replace the existing screen and small 12-volt fan with the Vortex fan kit to turn your roof vent into a powerful ventilation system. This kit upgrades your present powered roof vents into a powerful high velocity air movement system in just minutes. The Vortex I is a single speed fan.

Installation is easy with only a Phillips head screwdriver! Just take out the current screen, garnish and motor and replace it with the Vortex system. Non-powered vents can be converted with additional wiring.

Purchased the Vortex fan and it did work as described for the first couple of months then the 2 reverse speeds quit working. I was sent a replacement , installed it and the replacement worked on all speeds for the first few months but now it only one of the reverse speeds works... if you purchased one of these check out all the speeds. It is a pain to reinstall plus take back for a warrenty.

Great little fan. Sucks so much air it creates a vacumm on our bathroom door. Looks good, overall good quality, fit as easy as claimed, and took all of 15 minutes to install seamlessly (true my wife had to hold it up for about 2 minutes of the process). Would be 5 stars but for two minor complaints (hello manufactorer- are you listening?). Real nice upgrade except for the junky, plastic, tiny twenty-five cent Chineese switch. Hello, for another few cents they could have addressed the most used and abused part on the fan with quality also! Also when done installing to my specific replacment configuration I was left with three holes on the casing, penetrable to insects and looking unsightly. For three cents they could have provided optional plastic plugs. These holes must be sealed. Guess I will daub them with white silicone. Hope they fix these two items - then this unit is a clear ten star product!

We bought this fan because the original fan did not move enough air to prevent the smoke alarm from going off when cooking. Air volume appears better, but haven't tested with cooking yet. Pros: Draws no more power (~1 amp) as factory-original low-volume fan. Finished installation looks original Cons: Definately a 2-person job. Also, hard to balance screw on end of long philips screwdriver and hit the screw hole. Assuming this solves my smoke-alarm problem, I would recommend this fan to others with the same problem.

I received my new Vortex replacement fan in good order with all the necessary hardware. The fan size was an exact match to the factory fan, required no modifications. The fan install in about 25 minutes which included re-installation of trim hardware. The fan is much quieter than the old facture fan; I was pleased with the amount of air this fan moves.

Within the first 2 years of owning the trailer the orginal cheap fan blades disintigrated. I lived without for a few more years before I discovered this product. Installation was a snap and it operates much quiter than the original. The airflow is great. Anyone with a cheap 12V vent fan should consider this inexpensive upgrade.

This fan is a great substitute for replacing bathroom vent with a much more expensive vent and fan together. It was a literal pain in the neck to install though. Very difficult to hold up in place while tring to get the vent gear lined up and to catch the holes in the old frame with sheet metal screws. Had to have wife try to support it while I changed wires, lined up, holes correctly and got the screws to catch while keeping it in place. Once installed works great. Screen is easy to remove and clean and it makes no more noise than the tiny mosquito buzz fan that was there. Dont like the knob though- would prefer crank handle that would be faster and easier for wife to turn. Your vent cushions wont fit any more but it blocks out most of light through vent anyway.

I ordered this Vortex fan online from Camping World and it arrived very fast as usual. The installation was very easy. The hardest part was running the wiring to it as the vent was not powered to start with. As far as noise I don't think it is that bad. The vent fan in my bathroom is alot louder. The one in my bathroom will be replaced with a Vortex very soon.

Replacing my old fan wasn't terribly difficult but I wouldn't look forward to doing it again. Also, the new handle they inlude to open the vent is so large you can only turn it about 60 degrees at a time so it takes a lot of turns to fully open the vent cover. Moves lots of air which is what I bought it for, however you probably wouldn't leave it running because of the noise.

Although not quiet, it is much better than the fan that was in there. It's keeps the bathroom free of steam and helps to pull the cool air in from outside so that I don't need to turn on the A/C. I'm very satisfied and it was easy to install as well.

The whole time was about 1/2 hour. Very easy to install but had to have my wife hold it up while I put a couple of screws in, other wise, very simple. Wiring was a snap.

Before purchasing this product, I read many reviews on it. The major complaint was that the fan was extremely noisy. I discovered the same problem. When the fan was running, the outer fan ring was rubbing against the zip tie that was holding the wiring that was going to the motor. I removed the zip tie and installed another one in a different position, thus eliminating the rubbing noise.Overall, the fan is a good purchase, with my modification.

I'm in the HVAC industry and really don't want to know the cfm of this one, but it does what it's supose to do! It vents the bathroom. Great for getting out the shower steam. It may be 88% outside, but still gets the 99% out before you open the door. And using the other way the noise is not a facter!? Install took longer to round up the tools and get started than the time it took. Had to adapt to a 2005 Jayco, but pictures made it easy and this is really solid. I try to work from what can go wrong to what is right. Solid

Cannot believe that the cheesy fan I exchanged for was actually made by the same company that made this exceptional upgrade fan. The Vortex actually draws enough air to close the bathroom door! You will not be disappointed with your purchase. Simple DIY install for a confident DIY'er.

I had noticed moisture on the ceiling of my bathroom after showering this spring. Decided that need to be addressed. I saw an ad for the Vortex replacement fan and read the reviews of it before ordering one. What an amazing difference. So easy to put in. No more than an hour and I went slowly to make sure I did everything according to the directions. No problems. The amount of air pulled by the fan so much more than the original fan. If a window is open, you can actually see the curtains being pulled by the flow of air. Wish I'd done this sooner. Moisture problem is solved. And, I don 't find the noise lever bad at all. Of course it's a big improvement over the other fan.

I found the fan fairly easy to install but the instructions could have been clearer on the old motor & wiring removal. I had to remove the flat connectors from the motor wires and strip them to connect to the new fan. For those with issues about the noise level; I found that by loosening the fan set screw and lowering the fan a bit from the housing, the noise was reduced. Works well so far.

Product is as advertised. It moves an extraordinary amount of air. It's no more noisy than the original little buzzsaw. Installation is a breeze. It in fact blocks some sunlight thru the vent and keeps the room cooler. Highly recommended upgrade.

Very easy to install , but it is nice to have second pair of hands to hold fan while connecting the wires . It is much quieter than original fan. The vent knob is a bit snug against the screen when adapter plate is used but should not cause a problem. The instructions are not really needed for most DIYers but they could be written with a bit more clarity .

add this to my rv replaced that small fan in the bath room with one of these before when the fan was on it just made nose and the smell was still killing my wife now with new fan in you can feel the air coming out from under the bath room door and the smell is gone. this was so easy to put in that it was a joke

Since my wife cannot reach the crank for the vent nor the button for the fan, I extended the handle for the vent crank. Couldn't find a rheostat locally for fan so bought a 4 position old heater switch, ran the wires and mounted it on the wall. Now she can reach everything and we have a great fan for venting the steam at full blast when showering or just passing the air when needed on medium or low without the high pitched whine.

installed the vortex fan. it does move more air than the little fan in the bathroom it replaced. but there is one thing , when it winds up, it sounds like either and airplane of an airpump for a blow up bed. if im in the bathroom with it running, i cant hear the wife talking to me. some guys would think this is great. one guy asked me why i was complaining.
