I bought this on recommendation from my father-in-law who has a similar model. Love this grill, works great. Had the Coleman camping grill which fell apart. This is much more durable and cooks very evenly.

Purchased this last spring for use in our used (new to us) RV. I love it so much that I'm buying another one for the house. We have the $3000 stainless steel behemoth that I thought would last forever. It didn't. This cooks SO evenly, is a breeze to clean and I will be able to store it in our garage in winter, rather than try to cover it. I bought the stand and the cover. Although, I usually set it at the end of the picnic table to grill. When there's a crowd, the stand comes out. Don't hesitate, this is a winner.

The Weber Q200 series is a great grill. We love it. The top is domed in a way that you can cook more than burgers and dogs on it. We have placed chickens on it and closed the lid! What a great grill. We are ready to buy the griddle for it!

We are from Australia and are travelling the US in a fifth wheel for 12 months, we have a Q 200 back home and love it. Bought this at half the price we paid in Australia. We even did our thanksgiving dinner on it. This would have to be one of the best grill (BBQ) on the market. It's light and easy to store.

I've had both the other most popular portable grills, and wasn't satisfied with either. This one puts them to shame! I am an avid griller, and am particular about my food. This grill is very impressive in construction, function and form. Generous even heat does a great job with thick steaks. (the others just couldn't match up) Plenty of room, and works flawlessly with adapter and 20# bottle. Wish I would of bought this one first!

Grill works GREAT. Need to make sure you burn off the grease each time. If the temperature seems to be getting low, don't be afraid to take the grill to the car wash, then as soon as you get home, connect the propane and let it cook for a few minutes. The grill will be just like new again. Don't forget to add the folding cart.

Can't say enough about this grill. Easy setup, even cooking, lightweight, great size. The fold up side tables are a handy option also. I use a hose and connect it right to the LP tank (not supplied) rather than bottled LP. You won't be disappointed. Sale price on Camping World was at least $45 better then anywhere else.

I have had mine for 3 years and it is a great grill. I bought the travel bag and have no issues storing it in the RV. I bought the folding stand this year and now it makes for a great home grill also. I clean mine inside a couple of times a season with Easy-off grill cleaner. The burner will sometimes clog up with the moisture of this. I just just crank the grill up, heat it up, and use a pin to open any closed holes. This always works,

I have had no problems with this like others have stated. I even use it at home, Living on the coast all my other barbecues have rusted in a matter of months so we just pull this out when needed and keep it stored inside. Just bought the rolling stand for home use also. Stores well in the trailer and works great.

Great Grill

July 06, 2010
We recieved this grill this year as a gift for our camping trips. It works so well that now we use it at home as well. i have experienced no trouble with regulator or the hear. As with all gas grills you have to let it heat up a few minutes before using it, espcecailly with this grill since has such a heavy grate on it. The grate heats up evenly and there are no cold spots. We run this off a 20lb tank and sometimes use the 1lb cylnders when going on a picnic and the performance is the same. The only thing I wish it had was a lock for the lid to keep it from opening when in transit which is why I gave it 4 stars. For the price I think they could have included the stand with, but I have looked at the stand and you basically have to remove the grill to get it to fold down so do not plan on getting it. Overall this is a quality grill and if you take care of it, it should last a long time.

Bad Reviews Refuted

If you need a quality (though somewhat heavy and bulky) portable grill for camping, ignore the bad reviews below because this grill is it. I just received mine (in the middle of winter) and have already used it to cook for 5 adults...Outside in about 25-30 degree weather with the wind gusting to 20 mph!. It cooked 1/2 pound burgers in about 8 minutes, so clearly it CAN cook even in extremely cold weather. My Q 100 starts the first time I press the starter EVERY time. It cooks evenly even at the very edges of the grill. About the only (very minor) downsides are the very heavy, porcelain-covered cast iron grill plates (which weigh as much as the entire rest of the grill) and the bulky side handles (which are designed that way to keep them away from the heat). Oh, and the new version of the grill does not have the wire portable tank holder (at all) and page 5 of the manual specifically and directly states that I can use either the skinny 14oz canister or the 16oz tank. I've already used a 16oz tank, which worked beautifully. Overall, I couldn't possibly be happier with the grill - so much so, that I now use it instead of my home grill (with the 20lb tank adapter hose)!! I recommend the grill without reservation.

These weber Q's are fantastic grills. Mine (weber Q 220) cooks better than any I've had in 40 years as does my buddies baby Q and anothers weber Q. These folks that have trouble lighting are not following the hookup and lighting procedures correctly. Thus they are ignorant and uninformed. When you hook up the gas bottle you turn the gas valve on and leave it on for at least five minutes before trying to turn on the grill. There is a safety feature that shuts off the gas if you try to light up right away. From then on just leave the bottles gas valve on and only use the regulator on the grill and you'll never have a problem. Educate yourselves people!!!

We like this grill so well that we bought a 2nd for use at home. The only problem we've had with both of them is lighting them but I recently found a solution for lighting.....just give it a shot of carb cleaner by the igniter and she fires the first time off.

The Weber Q is a smaller version of my full size Weber and we are just as pleased with the Q as we are with the full size edition. We have tested it twice and it has performed above expectations each time. We do recommed the stand and adding a 5 or 11 lb gas tank. I do not like running off of the camper gas because it limits where I can setup the cooking space.

Great Little Grill

July 05, 2007
We bought the Weber after making many comparisons. First, the weber is made out of heavy materials. The grill itself is almost indestructable. I've had it for a year and the burner looks like it's still new. It's compact, and works great. Lights easily, gets very hot, and lasts quite a long time on a single bottle of propane. I've used this grill in fairly high winds and it stayed lit. My friend's grill kept blowing out. It was NOT a Weber. I've grilled steaks to perfection, fish, chicken, pork chops, veggies, and now, I purchased the griddle Model 1431, that will allow me to do eggs, bacon, sausage, pan cakes, or anything I want on a flat service. Camping World does NOT handle this accessory but you can get it by doing a search on line from many places including Weber. I also recommend the roll around stand. Quick & Easy to assemble. Holds the grill without any problems and since we keep it in our motor home, it has to be quick and easy. So don't be affraid to buy this grill. It's 100% awesome!

Wind storm tested!! and Passed

I just spent the weekend casino camping in TAHOE, and the wind was so strong it capsized more than one boat on the lake, including a large Catamaran, so you know it was not gonna be an easy task to BBQ in a parking lot with the nearest tree 100yds away. I thought it was gonna be a challenge because even behind the trailer the wind kept knocking over our lawn chairs... (big wide's from Camping World) I was using just the wind break from our 5er, and I BBQ'd 7 chicken breasts in the standard time called for which was 12 min. I did it from a 2gl bottle not the coleman lantern bottle. It only took a couple minutes to get it to light on the 2gal, I figured since it was a new adapter hose and such it took time to get the air out, but might have been what was being discussed with the regulator. Will watch for that. BTW speaking of lantern bottles, some of the webber Q's have a smaller bottle support for the narrow torch type bottles instead of the coleman sized ones, I just pulled the screw off one side of the wire support and bent it out to accomidate the larger size. The spring tension of the wire support holds the bottle in place just fine. Anyway, even in 20 gusting to 40, the Q did just fine! I have the folding cart as well, and it works like a champ, rock solid in wind. Adds a couple more places to hang stuff like pot holders, (note: not in 20-40kts) and folds flat for storage. I did have issues with the little disposable foil grease catchers and the wind. As for consistancy of temp, I perfer to have a cool area on the grill, for smaller items or stuff that needs less heat. I found no such problem on my Q, but will watch for that in the future. When cooking on my larger Silver B, I cook with a zone system, adjusting the front middle and back burners acording to what I need at the time, and so everything comes out at the same time. The coleman grills I saw even with their stands seemed too short, and I did not want to have to stoop over to cook.

Looked at the Coleman grills and am glad I went with the Weber. We went on our first rv trip last weekend and it worked great. Cooked ribeyes, hamburgers and pork chops and they all came out great. We started out using the 14.1 propane cylinders and found out quickly that they don't last too long. We did purchase the extension hose so we can hook up a larger propane tank and will do that on the next trip. I would recommend this grill to anyone who wants a portable grill to take on the road.

Great little product. Got the baby Q and it fits in Rv real nice, performs great and works well with propane connector to main RV tank. Had to hassle Weber a bit to get them to send me two side shelves which now come standard on newer models .. Weber people were real nice and sent me shelves . Best little grill around. Great Company to deal with. Get the optional stand too. Worth the extra money to buy USA quality.

First let me say I love this grill! I have to admit I was skeptical and avoided any portable BBQ after my disappointing experience with my last one from a 'competitor'. Then I read Consumer Reports and they gave a big "thumbs up" on the Weber Q. I stopped by my local CW store in San Bernardino, CA and picked one up on my way up to the campground. I was delited with it the minute I took it out of the box. The quality and engineering lends itself to some serious barbequeing. I have used it several times in high elevations (7000 feet) and wind. It never went out and cooked aggresively. Plenty of BTU's for thick meats and sears meat quickly. I found no basis for the earlier posted complaints. The burner tube does not clog up as the grill has wide surface bands above the tubes to prevent drippings from landing on it. If you are looking for a lightweight compact grill, this grill is not for you. It's a little heavy to heft and a little large, but it suits my needs perfectly. The side shelves are very handy, indeed. I first used it with a small disposable bottle, but went back to CW to pick up a 12' adapter hose for a 20# bottle. I cooked pork ribs, and Filet Mignon on it, and get this--I even made Tacos al Carbon on it! I recommend this grill!

Great Portable Grill

Some of the reviews are a little harsh when complaining about cleaning and greasy handles. The vents are located on the sides of the lid to accomidate skewers for shiskabobs. They work great. Clean up is a snap since like all Webers, the grill surface is heavy duty and easily removed for cleaning (just wait till it cools and lift it out). You can also buy a griddle surface that sits where the grill is and it works great for pancakes, bacon, eggs, etc. (although CW doesn't currently sell this accessory). The burners are stainless steel and are easily cleaned with a quick brush of the grill scrubber (this needs done about every 2-3 times you cook). The portable propane bottles for this grill are not your standard size as found in the camping department but are the size used for propane torches. Any major retail store or hardware store carries them. I recommend getting an adapter for using a 20 lb tank as I have done. Mine has a post with several propane outlets for lanterns, stoves, and any thing else propane can fuel. I think if you wanted anything more out of a gas grill you would have to buy a full size one. If you are looking for a portable grill with the feel of a full size one....your search is over.

While cooking nothing stops the grease from covering the tiny holes the gas comes out preventing it from staying lit. Also, on windy days it strougles to stay lit. It does requires cleaning often to keep grease off propane holes or you will end up with partial cooking.

We bought this grill in 2004 for our camper and loved it so much that we gave our employee one (and the cart) for his christmas gift last year. We have the cart and use it with a 20# tank. Our employee even brought it tailgating to a NASCAR race in Atlanta this spring.....It was admired by all who ate a burger, hotdog, and sausage off that grill!! I highly recommend getting this grill. The side tables fold in and makes storage easy, next we need to get the carrying bag!

We love it and have enjoyed everything we have cooked on this grill - pork, chicken, steak, fish and even the veggies. It is so convenient to use, easy to clean up and easy to store in our RV. Today we will do burgers and already know we won't be disappointed. Thinking about a new gas grill? You won't be sorry with a Weber Q! Enjoy!

We have tried many grills in our RVing life, but finally found the one that does it all. We can use this grill as a table top with the small propane cylinders, or use it our home with a 20# cylinder, or set it up on the optional cart, connect to a Tee, and hose we got at CW, and use the RV's main tanks. This grill heats quickly, evenly, and does a great job, and is, hands down the best we have ever tried while camping, and a very nice grill for home use also.

I am the cook in our family and my wife loves it. I have tried grilling in the past but charcoal was too messy and electric doesn't have the grill flavor we want. Then I came across a Weber Q grill. Believe me, I researched all the others and this one is the best one I found. I use it at home or camping. It is the best for a large crowd or just the two of us. (I recommend that if you do beer can chicken that you use smaller chickens). But overall, it works for everything. Now I use it all the time and pass on the word to everyone who asks. I love my grill!

I received a Weber Q Gas Grill just prior to my birthday in October of 2003. I have nothing but praise for this product. I have cooked steaks, hamburgers and chicken on the grill since I received it and have had no problems with flare-ups. The wind does not effect the perfomrance of this grill. The way it cooks is great, however I am most impressed by the ease of cleaning. The grease drips into the disposable pan and is simply thrown away. no muss no fuss. A great product that you would expect to come from a company such as Weber.

If you are serious about outdoor cooking, you probably have found most portable grills to be lacking. They don't have enough heat output and they cannot handle a chicken or a roast and they are too small for larger items. That is all history, with the Weber Q Grill. It has enough heat to sear nice, thick steaks and will still allow you to cook the inside of the steak from well done to quite rare. You can roast a whole chicken on it, or just cook chicken pieces. It will give fish fillets a good browning on the outside without overcooking the inside ... it even works well with ahi tuna. You can cover the grill surface with sirloin steak burgers without worrying about a flare up, and they will be done in 9 to 10 minutes.
