A must have.

This tripod holds my portable satellite perfectly. The only reason I gave it four stars over five is because the leg adjustment for the leg height is difficult. Pinching the spring loaded adjusters can be hard for some people.

We had to modify ours to fit the DISH Tailgater. We also bent the anchor on the bottom of the stand so it could sit flat when not in use. It works great!

This tripod works well and keeps the antenna up off of the ground. Lightweight and easy to move around. Would have given it 5 stars except for the fact that you need more than 2 hands to initially setup.

Product appears to be stable but the leg adjustment method is difficult. Each leg has two buttons to depress at the same time to move the leg up or down. This is very difficult since one only has two hands.

This stand is simple to assemble and use. Gets my portable satellite dish off the ground. Low tech way of solving a high tech problem.

Unit works as expected. It would be nice if the legs folded up and stayed attached to the unit instead of needing to be completely removed and no place to store with the base.

This is an absolutely essential base for the Carryout Antenna. Who wants to set a $700 antenna on the ground anyway. Or on the picnic table for that matter. It provides a good solid platform for the antenna. It seems to me to be a little pricey but it is very well built. I wish it had brackets to mount on the roof of our motor home when that was appropriate. When we are not traveling, we use the system at our brick and mortar home and the antenna and tripod sit on our back deck.

A necessity to the manual portable satellite.

Just as the title reads. A must for the manual portable satellite. Tried using the satellite without the tripod, it just wont work right on anything else but cement. Works as it should keep the satellite nice and firm to the ground and making it easy to level.

This unit is fairly easy to set up and dismantle, except for one thing, the spring-loaded pins to adjust the leg length are way too strong. Better have a channel-lock pliers to help. Going from the shortest to the longest length can give you black and blue fingers.

This tripod is wonderful for use with the Winegard MP-1 Dish. Easy to use, locate away from trees, and light weight and easy to store. Over all it does what it is advertised to do!

October 31, 2011
I was an owner of a previous economy carry-out Winegard portable satellite model. It sat directly on the ground and one of the biggest setup challenges was getting, and keeping it level. Unfortunately this tripod did not work with my older model, so I also purchased a newer model Winegard carry-out MP1 dish to work with this tripod. With the individual adjustable legs and a small level, it is easy and quick to get it perfectly level. Some operating suggestions. Set up and level the tripod BEFORE you attach the satellite dish, that removes one variable as you adjust the azimuth and elevation settings on the dish. Another suggestion, screwing into the ground the spring like anchor provided is not practical. My experience is that most of the ground is too hard and makes this difficult at best. I use a one gallon water jug hanging from the provided bungee, it’s quick, easy and works well. Great product.

SUPER, works on all surfaces. Recommend, securing it to RV with a chain locks. Prevents someone else carring it OFF. Chain follows path of attaching power and receiver cables.

The tripod is nice for keeping my satellite off the ground, but I feel it is overpriced. It is sturdy but it was very hard to attach the legs, having to keep them at an angle to insert the pin. I would not order again.

Helps out when you want a good solid base to keep the antenna out of the dirt, water or up off the ground, seemed a little flimsy at first until I set it up and put the ground stake in. I was impressed as to how firm it keeps the antenna when it is properly installed.

The only negative I would say is that the bolt that attaches the salellite to the tripod could be better designed and a little easier to attach. Presently the bolt is small and you have to turn the Satellite and tripod upside down to connect.

The basic tripod design works fine, and I like how the base plate locks the feet from the antenna in place. However attaching the tripod legs to the base plate was no small feat. The holes didn't line up right and took some modification to get the cotter pin to go through it. I would recommend it overall.

Good Product with limitations

I purchased this tripod to go with my Carryout MP1. The tripod did its job but is flimsy until it is anchored down. This is hard to accomplish as it needs to be moved around in order to get a signal in tight places. No fine adjustments. I will modify for this. Its only purpose is getting the dish off the ground. Good buy with limitations.

I bought the unit to use with Winegard MP 1 Sat dish. This stand really helps in setting up the unit. No problem getting the unit level to line up Sat dish. All three legs are adjustable. Has a stake to secure unit to ground.
