Weather-resistant portable satellite antenna sets up anywhere in only minutes.
Use it as your primary dish, as an auxiliary dish to clear trees or other obstacles at your campsite or at home when local codes prevent permanent installation. Powdercoat finish shrugs off weather. Antenna is 18" dia. and stands 29" H. Feed arm detaches and stores on the back of the dish. Includes 20' cable, 5' cable for use with optional Satellite Finder #14067 and ground stakes to hold dish in place. Easy one-time assembly. Works with regular DISH Network and DirecTV; not for use with DISH 500. Satellite receiver and monthly program packages sold separately.

Setup is Easy!
  • Find a level spot to set up dish
  • Connect cable to receiver
  • Enter local zip code in setup menu on screen
  • Set elevation angle on dish indicator
  • Rotate base until dish faces the satellite
  • Enjoy crystal clear satellite programming!

    When You're Ready to Go

Great unit and a piece of cake to assemble

I have read the other reviews and found everything in the box (one washer, left over), assembly a piece of cake. Had it up and running in 30 minutes. I will recommend this to anyone who is interested. Seems that Winegard has paid attention to the comments.

I have used this 2 seasons with direct TV and did not have any big problems with it. Takes a little to zero in on the satellite, but usually done in 10 minutes. Now my 3rd season I have Dish TV with HD and find the DISH is harder to find the signal. Also, DISH is not as user friendly through the receiver for finding the satellite. My problem could be in part due to the tree locations in my yard are not right for the dish satellites, but it seems like the DISH is more fussy on the azimuth and elevation settings and then adds different transponders that complicates things in finding a signal.

    Could be better

Forewarned by the other reviews of wrong/missing hardware, our unit had a 10-32 carriage screw instead of the 8-32 called for and 8 out of the 10 1/4 inch washers were 3/8 inch instead. Otherwise the parts were in good shape and the antenna is working as it should. I did substitute a machine screw for the carriage screw as I could not find any carriage screw that small at the ususal sources. Also replaced the 3/8 washers with correct 1/4 inch washers - they just fit better. Much better quality control is needed and a simple parts listing should be included (most reputable products provide this) so you can know whether all the parts are there before starting the assembly.

This unit is great. I have used it for two years now and have not had any issues with it. It is light, stores away easily and is easy to set up.

Works as I expected. Came with missing and incorrect bolts and nuts. A phone call to Wiengard customer service provided me with the correct hardware via priority mail. Some of the assembly instructions are a little vague.

    Good Buy for the Price

Bought the satellite from my local store. Brought it home and put it together without problems. Dish works great (we have Direct TV). The only problem is that you can't tighten the plastic knobs too tightly. I tightened one up, then gave it a little extra 'snuggie twist' and the plastic knob shattered. So, be careful. If you follow the instructions, it goes together easily. Well pleased with the product.

    Dual LNB?

They say it a a dual lnb so they should at least include an additonal 5 foot cable for the second connection. I hope it works with 2 receivers, which is why I bought it. Have not had a chance to test it yet.

I bought this despite some of the reviews that suggest it's difficult to find the 101 degree satellite and the compass is worthless (which it is). A few things I found useful: 1) start by setting it up where your home dish is located; with the north arrow on the frame pointing north; 2) the compass does work (even though I suggest getting another one, as this stock item is cheap), however, when placed in it's holder on the frame, it always points to the center of the dish. I placed the compass on the ground in front of the leg that points north; and 3) need to get the analog satellite signal finder that goes between the dish and receiver to be accurate. Otherwise, your looking for a needle in a hay stack; you can use your TV until you find the signal, but if your standing 50 feet away, this can be cumbersome. Once the initial setup is complete at home; your good to go on the road.

My advice is to follow the directions putting it together, But overall I recommend this satellite, its easy to sit up and is very easy to store when you are ready to go. I recommend and I would buy another one just like it if something happened to it. I have direct TV

We recently bought the satellite. We had Direct Tv come out to show us how to get signal. Now that we are using it in our RV cannot get signal. Do we use zip code of our home town or zip code of where we are camping. Getting very disappointed with product.

It took me about 20 minutes to align it correctly the first time, now it takes me about 3! Great product for Trailer camping, also, the saltellite finder is a must, makes dish alignment a simple process.

You can purchase this same antenna at summitsourcedotcom for 72.95. Seems like a pretty big markup for a paid discount membership.

    Great Dish

This dish gives a great signal. I am a Direc TV user, a full time RV'r, and love this dish. It folds up flat for storage and is easy to set up. The assembly instructions are not real clear and it takes a little time to put together. While this dish comes with a compass it also needs a bubble level for setting up on an uneven surface, like the ground. I use wood shims for leveling, then watch the bubble level as I swing the dish looking for a signal. The elevation setting on the dish is not clear and appears to be the metal edge inside the elevation slot, where the wing nut is located, near the degree markings on the left side. A signal meter is helpful, but not necessary if you can hear the signal meter coming from Direc TV, during dish setup, on your television.

I love this thing. The first one I purchased did not pick up the signal from the sattelites so I had to return it. The next one I got after I put it together and tried it in my back yard had a signal in under one minute. Since then we have used it camping and tailgating at football games. Every time I use it I get a signal fast. Even when I forget my compass. I would recommend this over any of the high priced ones you find. Works great, small, and convient.

My first sat dish for camping was one I took off my house when we moved. I mounted it to a 2' x 2' piece of plywood. It worked, but was very bulky and hard to transport & store. A few months ago CW had this Wingard Portable on sale and my wife got it for me for Father's Day. It was pretty easy to assemble and it folds up nicely. I simply leave it on the bed in my travel trailer when not in use. Once at the campsite it sets up in in a minute or two with no tools. If you're familiar with sat dishes you know that it is hit & miss getting a fix. But, I usually find the signal using just a compass in just a few minutes. It also comes with tent style stakes to hold it in place.

The instructions to assemble this are a bit challenging. The illustrations are not helpful at all. Once together, it seems like it will serve it's purpose although I couldn't get it to work the first try without a compass. (See notes under satellite finder)

I bought this satellite just after buying our first 5th wheel. Its very easy to setup and we were watching satellite tv in just a few minutes. I also bought the satellite finder. The only problem I found is that its hard to store after use, but well worth the money.
