Back up camera solution - September 23, 2008

I have a back up camera installed on my pick up truck and the lens in the rear clouded over from the sun & winter conditions , I went to the auto parts store the owner told me to take 1500 & 1000 grit sand paper soak a small strip of each for 10 minutes in water and lightly sand the lens first up and down , then side to side switching to the finer grit paper sanding the same way. The final step I took rubbing compound and with a soft cloth I rubbed in the compound, I now can see with the camera again. I would recommend covering the lens over the winter.

this camera is very small and helps for general purpose of seeing what is behind you however you may want to think about adding a bigger LCD monitor if possible. i only use it for locating my hitch on my trailer and am new at this rv stuff. so if you are new like me it will help some but strongly suggest a bigger montior.

Be careful - February 11, 2008

Its ok for back up only but dont try to use as a full time rear view camera as if you leave it on for 20 minutes or so it goes totally out of focus. Factory sent me a second one..same problem. They admitted they have an internal component problem and picture distorts if left on. also not good more than 25 ft or so. Niot bad for the money but be aware of its limits
