Rated 4 out of 5 by from SurgeGuard #44740 A very handy device. Used one for last 4 years. You plug into shore power pedestal and check for correct light, then shut guard down and attach your long power cord to unit then to RV. Then you hit button activating shore power. If you plug in a live cord, current flowing to battery chargers/converters will often cause arcing while connection is made. It's practical and for less than $100 you get great peace of mind. I sent my first unit with the last RV I sold and am buying another. I gave it only 4 stars because I do not know enough about the probabilities of having a mishap which exceeds the units protection capabilities.

TRC manufactures locking hasp, <a href=https://www.campingworld.com/surge-guard-universal-lock-hasp>item# 44333</a>, to help deter theft of the surge guard.

Does this do any kind of circuit analysis? I ask because my last RV surge protector also did circuit analysis, and the circuit analysis would trip the GFCI outlet it was plugged into.
