Additional Information
Progressive Industries' Hardwired Electrical Management System (EMS) provides full RV surge and electrical protection against all adverse power conditions.

Whenever electrical power falls below 104 volts or rises above 132 volts, the EMS automatically shuts down power to the RV.

Once the electrical power rises above 104-volts, or below the 132-volt level, the time delay indicator flashes for the preset time and then automatically restores power to the RV. Remote digital readout features built-in surge fault indication, amperage meter, voltage meter, frequency meter, 3-mode surge protection, reverse polarity protection, open neutral/open ground protection, lost/open neutral protection, and AC frequency protection. Factory setting 15 seconds but can be adjusted to a 2 minute 16 seconds (136 seconds) delay for A/C Protection. Frequency Protection (Low <51Hz, High 69HZ>).

Remote display: Scrolls continuously through all of the power source information: voltage, current, frequency, error codes, and previous errors. Each reading is displayed for 2 seconds. Modular design for easy repair, eliminating removal of unit. Should the software ever change, EMS owners can receive a free upgrade at no cost.

The remote display works on 56419 (EMS-HW30C) and 56420 (EMS-HW50C).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Purchase This is the type of product that is hard to review, because if it works nothing really happens. This is the third one I have purchased and I can say the other two worked without issue. Do I know if they have protected my electrical system, no. But I know others who have taken electrical spikes at campgrounds and wished they had one. I ordered on Friday and was notified I should have it within two weeks. To my amazement it arrive the following Tuesday, you can't beat that for speed!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Item! All RV's Should Have One Easy to wire and mount., fast shipping, and great price. This is a necessary item to protect your electronics and RV. The only thing is you need to remember to switch it off (the switch is on the remote device) if you hook up a generator/inverter. It only works with 120VAC post/house power; not a generator/inverter (no power will go through it), like a Honda EU2000i ( or two in parallel). After being sure the portable power is right, switch off the unit and you have power from a portable power source. You are not protected with the switch off. Label the switch for on and off. Also, I recommend placing the included error card above and behind it, fold it over to cover the red read- out, as it cycles through the voltage, Hz, and error code all night. If you sell your vehicle, reconnect the original wires with wire nuts and keep the unit for the next RV.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Product This unit is great because you can have the remote meter in the coach to let you know where your electrical usage is at. I am very pleased with this and it takes such a load off not worrying about your electrical supply. I has been very effective at low voltage mid summer campgrounds about kicking out the supply when it drops below the minimums. Very pleased with Progressive's product and service.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Ground/neutral old camp ground An expirenced camper recommended Progressive (he tried several other brands). We met at an older campground several times, I noticed my TV brightness fluctuating. Thank goodness I listened to him, several other RVers lost refrigerators, microwaves and TVs. The Progressive unit checks ground and neutral. Three years and haven't lost any appliances or our air conditioner.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from what can I say? Everyone we know with an RV said this is a must have and the price was very good. We had our local RV shop install it and he said we are good to go. It's hard to review something we can not see. It does makes us feel more protected from an electrical mishap which is what we bought it for !This appears very well made and it was actually MADE THE THE USA.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Piece of mind black box I just installed this unit with no problems and is working as stated. If you have a basic understanding of 120 volt wiring there should be no reason you can't install it yourself. I have yet to try it at an RV site but I will sleep better knowing the electrical system is protected from surges, voltage drops or mis-wiring from an unknown supply.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Inexpensive assurance that your investment is safe We bought one of these Lifesavers last year and we feel so sure that everything is going to be smooth and safe with our motorhome. I have read so many stories about people falling into power poles that RV sites and they have buyers were they had lots of electrical products in their motorhome. Don’t risk it buy it it’s simple to install

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice unit - easy installation I installed this myself and it was a very easy installation. These internal surge protection units are much better than the theft vulnerable external ones. I will probably remove this when we sell the vehicle and keep using it forever in any new rigs.

Does this unit come with a remote display or do you have to order that separately?

Asked by: anonymous
A remote display is included with this surge protector. The manufacturer packs the display inside the sure protector, so the lid will need to be removed to access the remote display and provided cable.

Remote display

The video says you can add 2 displays to the unit. Is the second unit hard wired also or wireless?
Asked by: Michael
The second display is wired with the same type of cable as the display unit included with the EMS-HW30C. See SKU#56418 for the additional remote display kit. How long does it take to install this unit? Less than 30 minutes? Do you just disconnect a couple of wires, insert between the wires, and then reconnect?
