Rated 1 out of 5 by from Doesn't work I purchased this monitor in November, 2016. It was to replace the exact same one that had reached its end of life. I installed the monitor in February, 2017. It worked fine for about 2 weeks then it started with the end of life warning. I thought it should last more than 2 weeks. I called customer service? at Safe T Alert. They said I should spend my time to send it back for testing. Their instructions say never to reside in an RV if the monitor is removed. I purchased this online from Camping World and they said I could return it to a store. I will try this, but my complaint is the lousy service from Safe T Alert. I mentioned to the lady I talked to that I may try another brand and she said that was all right.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Can not determine why it triggers a low voltage alarm This alarm came installed in my 2017 Forest River Wildwood from Camping World. On 2 different trips the unit sounds an alarm signalling low voltage. When this happens the voltage in my coach is 11.8 volts. Seems wrong to me.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor product I bought a Class C RV Sprinter chassis in March 2016. It had this unit in it and it lasted a year. The date from Manufacturer was Aug 2015.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from HVAC I'm in the HVAC industry in the retail end. Every year I am amazed at the lack of knowledge of things that kill you. CO can't be seen, smelled or tasted. You go to sleep and don't wake up. Our Jayco 29N is set perfect for this to be the alarm. Don't mess around get a hard wired unit. Check the date on yours. 5-10 years will be the max. I sleep better!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Replaced Old Unit We replaced our old unit with this one. The reason why is old one was worn out kept going off and researched they only last 5 years, so far this new unit is working fine

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Worked for just over a year My alarm was manufactured in Feb 2016 (as stamped on the back) and it was installed in April 2016. It declared an unrecoverable red/green fault in June 2017 two months after the one-year warranty period expired. Reviews that I'm now seeing on this and other websites show that this failure is not uncommon. I'll purchase another dual alarm hoping the manufacturer has fixed the design flaw and that I'll get 5 years use out of it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Alarm replacement. My old alarm had reached its "End of Life" point and had to be replaced as per manufacture. This unit is an exact replacement and is very easy to install, just follow well written instructions included with alarm and follow alarm check instructions.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 35 seriesSafe T Alert dual carbon monoxide alarm I'm happy Camping World carries this model that is an exact replacement for the one in our camper. Made it easy to install and perfect fit since it was the same as the old one that gave out after the 5 year life. Shipping was quick.

How do you replace this unit? It is wired in. I see no way to disconnect without cutting wires. And no place to install a new battery.

Asked by: Sandi
These RV designed alarms have blank leads on the rear. An alarm could be terminated with a connector for a plug, a crimped connector, or with a wire nut. The decision would have been up to the RV manufacturer or original installer. So depending on how the alarm was connected, you may not have a choice but to cut wires for the new alarm in order to finish the installation and terminated with a method of your choice. These alarms do not have a backup battery compartment like a residential alarm as they are wired to an RV's coach/house battery which constantly supplies power.

These reach end of life after 60 months.  Each has a date code on the back.  How do I know the date code before I buy ?  Thats the only way to know how long the unit is good for and not have an old date.

Asked by: btrent2828
It is 60 months from the time you install it and start using it. Not 60 months from the time it is manufactured.

My alarm is beeping continuously even after I reset the alarm. I noticed in the front photo that this alarm needs to be replaced approximately 60 months after retail purchase. Is this a requirement? Do I need to purchase and install a new alarm?

Asked by: Edmund
Per the manufacturer: End of Life Signal - The Sensor has a 5 year Service Life "All 35 Series models include an End of Life (EOL) Signal indicating the sensor has reached the end of its service life and you must replace the alarm. The signal is the LED flashing RED RED GREEN GREEN with a beep every 25-30 seconds. The EOL Signal may be reset by pushing TEST / RESET button on the alarm. This will reset the EOL Signal for a period of 72 hours (3 days) for a total of up to 30 days. After 30 days the signal cannot be reset and the alarm must be replaced. DO NOT DISCONNECT THE ALARM UNTIL YOU HAVE A REPLACEMENT ALARM AVAILABLE TO INSTALL"
