Valterra Slide Valve
Valve works fine but the install instructions are lacking. I installed one valve, easy to
install but it leaked in a few days. Took it to a repair shop and had to buy a new valve
and had them install it. Few days later it starting leaking again. Ordered another valve
and installed it myself. After spending 30 minutes trying to install the seals on the waste
pipes, I discover I was trying to install them as they were in the package. This is wrong,
you have to reverse the seals from the way they come in the package. I checked the
instructions several times and no where does it say how the seals show face to be
installed. My professional installer had them reversed also. Need to explain how the
seals face when installing them.

Black tank valve
Sure wish that once in 10 yrs the replacement of this valve would be called for. It's been
3 yrs since I've done this task. The valve I replaced became too hard for my wife to open
and close. The new valve solved this problem. With the passage of time it became
hard to open and close this new valve. I tried dumping in vegetable oil and operating
the valve to lubricate it but the valve remained difficult to operate. Three years latter I find
myself ordering another valve. What can I say... Camping World is blameless, they
shipped promptly. These valves won't last forever... Wish I don't have to do this job
another time in the future.

3 Valve, EZ to replace
This pretty much sums it up. When I bought my Class C Sportsman a
few years ago the waste valves were stuck so much that I was glad
that the tanks were empty, when I switched over. Anyways, the 3 took
about a half hour to replace, while also replacing the seals as well.
Very EZ to install, just reverse as taking the old one out! After two
years of owning the RV, they still worked like brand new, the pull never
leaked or stuck! I recommend these to anyone who is just replacing
with OEM, make shift. CHEAP & RELIABLE!

Replacing an old slide valve
The existing slide valve had started to leak and rust was evident on one of the retaining bolts. The removal of the old valve went well and revealed that both rubber rings were in disrepair. Once I cleaned the pipes, the install of the new slide valve went extremely quick and easy. I particularly like the fact that the valve came with new bolts and non-slip nuts. The valve is obviously more solid than its predecessor and works like a charm. Very good product, highly recommended.

Valterra 3" blade valve
WARNING check your valve before installing; my slide did not fit snugly in valve body. It has a 1/2 inch gap top and bottom. I had installed vale but when I looked at installation the handle did not go tight against the stop. Thought maybe a gasket was not installed correctly so I pulled unit back off. Thats when I notice the gaps top and bottom on the slide gate. Holding unit horizontal, poured water on valved and it leaked like a sieve Checked this against the old valve and the seal was tight on that one. So cleaned and lubricated the old one and re-installed. I can imagine what would have happened had I not found this defect and the first time I took off the cap to empty the black tank, I would have gotten about two quarts of liquid crap all over myself Be carefull with any Valterra units, mine was made in Mexico. I had purchased the 1 1/2 inch valve also. that one was ok so installed and it works fine.

3 inch slide valves
I own a 2014 Tracer Air. The cheaper plastic handle broke off the original black tank valve. Since both grey and black valves were the same age I chose to buy two of them from Camping World. These two have metal handles. I replaced the valves myself and they work great.

Flush King valve replacement
My valve was sticky and hard to open. I broke the handle one day
dumping the black water. I replaced the valve with this one and saved $35.00 since I
didn't have to buy the same kind I had before!

Do you have this valve with a long cable pull handle? If so, in what lengths is the cable?
My 5th wheel has black gate valve about 5 ft from control compartment where handles are accessed.
We do carry a 3" valve gate with 72" actuator cable plus hardware as SKU#55233. A 1.5" valve gate with 72" cable plus hardware we have listed as SKU#55232.
Replacement 96" and 120" cables with handle are also available from Valterra.
