Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy setup and tear down First, as it says in the description, this should not be used underway. With that said, it is super easy to setup and take down, tall enough for adults to walk under with ease (I am 6' and had no problems) and more than stable enough at anchor. I did not have this up while moving, but would say it should be fine at idle speed or just over. Overall, i was very happy with the product...even my wife approved!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Assembled incorrectly The first time I set this up I found it was not assembled correctly. Three of the four stays were not attached to the center collar that slides up and down. I had to removed the fabric shade to get the other stays attached. After that I discovered the center collar was misaligned so that it would not lock in place. I had to disassemble everything, align to collar, and re-attach all the stays. What a hassle! It must have missed a QC check along the way since I don't think assembly was required. Anyway, now that I got it put together, I think it will be a nice addition to my boat.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works as expected Use this on our bass boat. It is a Ranger and I am able to drop the post in a hole in the middle of the boat. I use 4 carabiners to attach the tie down straps to the cleats. Stays steady. You definitely can't move fast with these but fine if trolling slowly. Wife loves having the shade. A couple of things: The plastic knob that adjusts the post height is flimsy. You have to crank down tight to get it to hold well. I had one that broke on the first umbrella and Overtons sent out a new one. It is a design flaw as the rounded part that compresses against the post is plastic. It looks like it has a spot for rubber to compress against the post to give it more grabbing power but it does not have the rubber piece. It looks like it is missing but both my shades did not have piece. The bag that hold all the parts is not designed well. You have to load everything from the top end and then pull the drawstring tight. It is just too tight once you have used the umbrella. I ended up buying a bag that zippers the length of the bag and now disassembly and storage is a snap. Bag was around $13.00.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Wind Intolerant Unless you are setting this up without even a slight breeze - don't bother. We attempted in a ever so slight breeze and because of the size - it is like a Giant Umbrella in the wind - I don't recommend this product - conditions have to be perfect for it to work - and if you actually do get it set up - you had better bolt it down because if the wind comes up - goodbye!!!! Plan on paying for return items to Overton's also - they don't pay and returning something like this is not cheap.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice shade, does what it says Received and set up on my boat today. Haven't tested it on the water yet, but I anticipate it will work very well. I went with black, which doesn't allow much light through. My hope is that will translate to a cooler feel under the shade while at anchor. It seems well made, but there are a lot of plastic parts, so I will have to monitor for durability. I used inexpensive aluminum carabiners to attach the straps to my cleats and tie-down rings, rather than the setup recommended by the directions. It feels more secure with carabiners and will be easier to setup and takedown. The size is perfect. I have a Malibu Response, and the shade spans the full beam aft of the motor box. Combined with the bimini, we now have shade from the windshield to the stern. Shipping was very slow (more than a month). It appears to have been drop shipped, so Overton's probably didn't have any control over that.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Disappointment with Anchor shade just purchased! This was a birthday gift for my husband as we were headed out on a week long boating trip. The clip in the center pole ( to adjust/ hold the height in place, ) broke... while we were putting it up. Two of the straps to keep it anchored on the corners.... kept coming loose. We had previously owned a shade ( from another company) that had lasted us years.... the only reason I replaced it was because it was starting to rust in spots. I will go back to the old one this season! I would have chosen NO stars if it was an option.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from fair shade It is easy to setup... i ordered it from Overtons.. i called the order in.. for it.. A year and half later it stopped staying up..... 2 of the supports would go down and then i would have to push them up and then they would go down afterward.......Have had it many years but it just stays at home collecting dust in garage.....wast of money..
