Matching access doors - Atwood access doors are painted with tough, durable paint in a variety of popular colors which ensures a clean and attractive exterior.

Mounting options - All 6 and 10 gallon models can be mounted flush into the RV sidewall for an integrated, attractive appearance/

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love my Atwood water heater I just bought this water heater in replacement of my 1988 Atwood 6 gal LP with DSI.I figured that after 22 years of faithfull service...it would be time for a new one. I noticed that this year, the model is much more silent and they have changed the dual probe to a single one in the ignition module. This makes better sense as the former one needed to be exactly spaced just like you would find on a spark plug. Overall, very satisfied and no need for an anode rod since it is an aluminium tank !

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Atwood water heater Old water heater sprang a leak, of course while away from home. Ran down to local CW and thankfully had in stock. Taking old out and installing new wasn't that difficult and only needed a few tools. However, the water heater wouldn't fire up immediately, came on for a few seconds and then off, repeat several times. Let sit for extended time and did get it to come on and stay. Then after a day it wouldn't function properly, off and on for very short periods. By then it was Monday morning, called Atwood and after lengthy hold period finally a tech. Turns out this one has a faulty circuit board, a number of units were sent out with this problem. They offered some options, send me a new one or I go find a new one locally and they reimburse. Selected they send me a replacement. Awaiting the new board now. Had to call them back the next day and after a very lengthy hold time elected the "they call me back" option and they actually did, twice. Gave a 3 star rating because of the bad circuit board from the get go.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect replacement The new water heater slid right into the RV to replace the original. Nice to see someone build a product that is user friendly. Fired right up and works great.

does this replace model g6a6

Asked by: Anonymous
Direct replacement of a G6A-6 is an Atwood G6A-7, item# 3687. Item# 3690 is a G6A-8E model water heater that has electronic ignition instead of being a manually lit pilot version like the G6A-6/7 models.

Does it directly replace GC6AA-9E?

Asked by: Juicy Lucy
No, this water heater is a G6A-8E model. A direct replacement would be a GC6AA-10E which can only be obtained through an OEM dealer of Atwood products, we only deal in Aftermarket. The closest we have to a replacement for a GC6AA-9E is a GCH6A-10E which has all the same specs except for an added Heat Exchange feature.

No, RV water heaters rely on external plumbing from the RV for bypass configurations. Item# 15717 is a bypass kit for RV water heaters.
