Rated 5 out of 5 by from Be Smarter than the clamp I've got 6 sets of these little guys for 2 campers (3+3) and have found they work great. And yes if your not smart enough to tighten them they will come off. And as for the straps not being long enough I've had them on mine from day one when my campers were new and kept the awinings pulled to the sides. So as far as I see it learn how to use the item before you say its junk. Also to help keep my awning tight I do have rafters 2 for my 25 footer and just 1 in my 20 foot awning. With those and the de-flappers my awnings take most any wind even the strongest ones.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worked so well we bought another set We recently purchased a new fifth wheel. Though we have camped for years we did purchase many new items from Camping World. One of my favorite purchases was the Awning De-Flappers. We routinely camp at a windy beach and these were exactly what we needed. They are very easy to use and do the job well. We decided to put two de-flappers on each end because of the constant breeze. I know in the long run they will protect our awning from prematurely falling apart.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from These are ok but larger ones are better After camping without these, and watching the awning billow up, we bought these small ones. What we found is that you need several small ones on both sides in order to control the flapping. They never eliminated the flapping completely. We then bought the larger ones, placing one on each side, this controlled the flapping like the small ones. After buying another set, of the larger ones, and placing two on each side, we had NO flapping - none - nada.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great lil' gadget I purchased one set at the last minute shortly before my last camping trip. I used them for 4 days, some VERY windy, and never had to put my awning down. Not once! I am going to buy another set as one set is really not enough and I would feel much better knowing I had more protection. I give these little babies 5 stars. *Kept my awning from flapping in strong wind *Stayed put, never had to re-tighten

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works as advertised, as long as you use them right... These work great as long as you tighten them down hard enough. -- Make sure the awning is as tight as you can get it with the regular awning tensioners, then hand tighten these as tight as you can. Any kind of looseness by these gadgets or too loose on the awning and these will flap loose. Otherwise, these things work great. I use two on either size. But use more for added strength or larger awnings.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wonderful! We used these items in high winds in Colorado. I noticed that one strap was too long....so I centered my awning in the head rail on the camper, and voila! It worked perfectly. These are easy to use, store, and save your awning from noisy flapping--which kept us awake our first night in the mountains. I highly recommend this product for its value and ease of use.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Simple design that works well We have used these for the past four years on our 20' awning with no noticeable weathering. I feel that if the standard De-Flappers are not sufficient to keep the the awning in control, that the wind is too strong to keep your awning extended. There is larger clamp model now available that seems like overkill since this one works so well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Product We used these to hold our gazebo privacy screens from blowing in the breeze. Just attached one to each screen, then to the wooden frame and now we don't have to worry about things getting blown around. Holds the screens tight and no worry about water entering during a rain storm.

How many clips do I need for an 8X14

    Asked by: Anonymous
For the most part, just two is fine. However, older awning tend to lose tension so they flap more in the wind and may require 2 per side depending on how bad wind gusts are. Quantity will have to be based on owner judgment, age of awning plus general weather conditions in area being camped at.
