Excellent Way to Save Your Awning!
We bought these because the RV we bought was older as was the awning, and the first season, there was a wind storm that just about ripped the awning off. Now, we never worry about rolling the awning back up at all. When we open up for the season, we put on the De Flapper Max's on each side - 1 pair per side, and never roll up the
awning until the end of the season, and we haven't had any problems since. We've survived two tornado warnings with 50 mph winds going through the area and some severe thunderstorms with no problems. We do usually drop the awning, when possible, but we NEVER roll it up anymore. No flapping of the awning at all. We do also use a bungie cord and a tent stake to hold the awning down at all times as well.

Awning De-Flapper MAX
as a whole they do hold the awning better then nothing , but they only catch is had one of the nylon straps that hold the flapper to the awning brace tare right at the velcro area all the way across! This made the flapper unusable, did try and contact the company which made the
De-Flapper never got an answer back!! Did use a standard small tie down strap with a clip to take the place of the standard strap , which it now works Ok , but for only 12 times of use think it should have lasted longer then that!

Happy home owner
These deflapper clamps are perfect. I used 2 on each side of a sunsetter awning 10' 2" 18 fter. We kept having trouble with the cheesy sunsetther bungee type deflappers with water collection and not very good in wind. The velcro strap works very well too! Happy

saved the awning
I was camping in the desert and fond that I need then De-Flappers. I could watch the awning blow away in a large gust, roll it up or add the flappers. I decided to use the flappers and was VERY pleased. They are not going to prevent the awning being removed from the side of the RV so you MUST use common sense. My only issue is that I am short and needed a step. They are very easy to put on and I suggest that if you use your awning that you have 4 of these to use

Very Nice & Heavy Duty
I really was suprised in the performance of the De-Flapper Max. The only problem I have with it is that the wrap does not allow me to draw it tight enough for my paticular awning so I have to wrap it around the arm twice. I enjoy it very much and it most deffinately was money well $pent! I will be buying more of these for the rest of my awnings as well as all my friends are now going to purchase them. Held up very well in a very strong wind situatuion. Thanks!!

Need Three Per Side
We bought these and found out quickly that we needed three per each
side of awning. So far we haven't had any problems like the rest of the
reviews are saying ,but I am not saying we won't. Great item to buy to
help hold awning, just make sure you purchase enough for THREE
PER SIDE,and hope you or don't have the problems in the other
reviews. With what there saying in the other reviews I would say
purchase these when they go on sale

Do they work on pop top caravans
Do they work on pop top caravans
If your caravan has a patio awning where the hardware arms run parallel to the fabric for the strap to wrap around, yes this product can be used.

How are the de-flappers secured to the ground? (separate line and stake??)
alot of camp sites are concrete pads which would prevent you from securing the de-flapper. Not practical to carry large blocks to tie off too. How would you secure them?
The De-Flapper is not secured to the ground. Straps on the 'rear' of the unit wrap around the awning arms while the jaw clamps on the awning fabric. This product is designed to keep the fabric from moving in the wind. To anchor the entire awning, something like SKU#37795 is used. On concrete pads, instead of hooking the strap/spring to the corkscrew anchor, you can hook them to a bucket full of water that way transport is easier when not in use.

How many do you need?
We have a 34 ft fifth wheel would we need a total of 4 , two on each Side , or is just one on each side enough?
For the most part 1 per side is enough to do the job. However, with an older awning that is losing tension and wind conditions at the camp site, 2 per side may produce better results.
