Unit Weight 0.14 lb
Brand Canadus Power Systems Llc
MFG Part No. HD-1224-
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Unique feature others don’t have After my inquiry I found out that this device is not a charger and doesn’t need to be plugged in and and you don’t have to remove your battery for it to work. This installs permanently and works with the vehicles charging system. It’s the only one I could find that works this way. Worth every penny.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Battery life Works great. Only complaint is that loops are too small for every 12v battery I own.

I have 2 batteries in parallel setup on my 5th , do i just connect the HD-1224 to one battery or do i need to connect the HD-1224 to positive on one battery and then negative on the other battery?

Asked by: badaxemi
connecting the HD1224 to one battery providing the other batteries are connected in parallel it will work fine. When a charge is applied the the battery reconditioner will eliminate and prevent sulfation on the entire bank.

Most of these have to be plugged in. Why doesn’t yours?

Asked by: gpratt8
This desulfator is engineered to be mounted in a vehicle and left connected constantly to the battery(ies). The Canadus HD-1224 will only operate when the battery(ies) are being actively charged so that they are not being drained. A corded unit that uses AC electricity is generally used when batteries are removed from the vehicle for storage/maintenance and is often combined with charging capability.

I have two(2) 6 volt deep cycle RV batteries wired in series, can this unit work in this combination?

Asked by: black bart
Wired in series creates 12v. Wired in parallel creates a 6v battery with increased amp hours. Your RV is at least 12 volt so make sure you connect to positive terminal on one battery and negative terminal on the other battery. Making sure that you only have 1 jumper running from positive terminal on one battery to the negative terminal on the other battery.

I have four 6 volt batteries that are wired to create two 12 volt power sources. If this unit is wired from the positive terminal on one end of the bank and the negative terminal on the other end of the bank it would be used on a 12 volt system right?,

Asked by: Shalako
In theory yes. What will cause your setup to explode has to do with the amps.
