Making Life Easier
Does just what it is supposed to do. I have been dealing with the plastic plug for two
years. It was starting to leak and the head was getting pretty torn up. I was going to
invest in the replacement kit with wrench. This was going to include a new plastic plug,
and I figured I was going to be replacing this about every three years. It was also going
to cost an extra $5. The brass drain valve seems to work perfectly. Make sure you order
the correct size, and you will need plumbers teflon tape. I used a socket to install the
outer piece to the tank and then added teflon tape to the inner threads also. Seems to
be working fine, and hopefully it will cut down my winterization time by about 20 minutes

Brass water heater drain valve , 1/2
Removed old plug, flushed and cleaned tank, have not installed new drain plug yet because RV is winterized right now. Have new brass water heater drain plug valve 1/2 & Teflon tape ready to install it if we head south for the winter.

Not Bad
I wanted to install a drain valve for quite some time to replace the old nylon plug. This item works well, but I needed a lot of pipe tape on the smaller threads to stop the dripping. A little patience and it now works
good.

Easy to install
Easily installed using socket wrench. Used PTFE tape on threads to prevent leaks. Better than removing and replacing plastic plugs every year.

Drain Valve
A must-have in my book since the water heater manufactuer's don't see the need to make
their drain plugs accessible.
