Camco Freeze Ban Heated Drinking Water Hose is rated 2.8 out of 5 by 30.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from I might as well have used a regular hose I bought this hose knowing I would be traveling to very cold locations during a trip to the West Coast for the US. In Idaho, the entire host froze solid on the first night in 20-degree weather. The RV park had heated hose taps and water was flowing fine from it when I realized I had no water in the RV the next morning and checked each end of the hose. Sure enough, the end connected to the RV was frozen solid. I went back and double checked the instructions (put the thermostat end at the coldest location, which would be the RV since the water valve was heated), but the hose still froze solid and the LED in the electric plug was lit. I'll be returning this hose to Camping World at my earliest convenience! If anyone knows of any working alternatives, please drop me a line!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great so far I have used the 25 ft. Hose for a couple months now. Not dead of winter yet, but many days freezing or below freezing temps at night. This hose is working perfectly and as I had hoped. Even better. Funny, one way I know it is working besides having running water is that the first water out of the cold faucet is a little warmer than skin temp. I don't even have to go look at the power light on the plug. I would recommend this product based upon my experience so far.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not worth it The first time I hooked up this hose, it leaked profusely where the electrical cord enters the hose. I contacted Camping World and although I was well within the 90 day return period, all they would do is refer me to Camco. Both Camco and Camping World deserve zero stars on this product. I have yet to hear back from Camco, but I think the only good use for this hose is a trash can filler. I will think long and hard about ordering from Camping World again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I made a mistake and hose froze up I previously posted that hose froze up aft 2 months of use. Well I found out I had the hose under my skirting where it attaches to the RV. This is where the thermostat is located on the hose. I had placed a small heater under the camper to help keep the tank drain pipes warm, this in turn caused the thermostat on the hose to be warm and not kick the hose on and is why it froze up. So make sure the hose is outside of the skirting when using this hose.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Frozen hose I have already replaced one hose when it wasn't even 20 days old due to it freezing at about 21 degrees. Now I have to take this one back at just 19 days old today because it has frozen up also at 20 degrees! The only reason that I will be getting one more is because I am in a bind and need water. As soon as spring comes, I will be taking this terrible water hose back and I will never buy this product again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great hose-doesn't freeze. I have used this hose for over a month in temperatures ranging from 50 to 0 degrees Fahrenheit in the mid west. I have never experienced any problems with the hose and have watched my neighbors freeze up. My hose compartment has an electrical box. The hose can be configured for either end (male/female) to be the end with the electrical plug. So my hose has plenty of electrical cord and I coil up the excess.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Frozen I bought this hose to use during freezing conditions, obviously. The first time temperatures went below freezing, the hose froze solid. I exchanged the hose for a new one and again as soon as temperatures went below, the hose froze. I have it plugged into a GFCI outlet as recommended. I have a 50' homemade heated hose that is outperforming this hose on everything. I would not recommend this product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from How to check if it's working and to not risk freezing. Here's how you check to see if this hose is working. Buy either from Amazon, Walmart or eBay a product which is a kwh meter that will tell you the amount of time it's running and how many units of energy it's using which it has a tremendous number and you can put in the cost per kwh units for total cost it'll calculate during that time it's running and that product is called. A Floureon KWH meter.
