Does this work plugged into the data power port in the car (where phone/recharger/devices are plugged)

    Asked by: Anonymous
A number of current generation passenger vehicles have integrated USB ports to connect mobiles devices for data and/or charging. This heater uses the traditional 12V cigarette lighter outlet for power, USB ports actually do not have the required amperage to power a device like this.

Will it stand alone, or does it have to be mounted to something?. Also, what are the dimentions?

    Asked by: Robb
The heater is to be mounted in place, either with screws or with hook & loop tape. Dimensions are 4.3" x 7.8" x 6.8".

Is this safe to use in an enclosed space?

Is this heater safe to use in an enclosed, unvented space, such as in the back of a truck or van? That is, aside from making sure that it away from objects that are fire hazards, do I need to worry about carbon monoxide as I would with other heaters? I'm assuming that this isn't a concern, but I'd just like to be sure.
    Asked by: dam013
As long as nothing flammable is next to the unit and not mounted near/on the vehicle airbags, yes it can be used in an enclosed space as there are no fumes/exhaust created by this heater.

It is possible to use this in a home if a power converter capable of 20amps can be located.

How many square feet will its heat up to? Is cigarette plug included?

    Asked by: Bighorse07
This heater can produce approximately 801 BTUs at max setting. At a rough estimate of 50 BTU needed to heat a square foot, the heater can warm about 16 square feet. The colder the ambient temperature the more BTU is needed which decreases square footage. <p>The connected power cord has a cigarette lighter plug on the end.
