Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome dual fuel generator. I have had this generator for about a month and am totally satisfied with it. I also installed a 6 circuit transfer switch and have powered up every light and fan in the house and it handled it well. The only problem was that I had to make my own power cord to adapt the generator to the transfer switch outlet which is a 4 prong 220 volt connector. The generator only has a 120 volt 3 prong connector, a dryer type connector and and 2 standard 120 volt outlets. I ran it only on propane so far but it ran like a champ. I don't have the transfer switch hooked up to my 220 volt heaters or dryer but it does what I wanted if to. Kudos to Champion!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Saved us after hurricane Michael Hurricane Michael devastation hit us hard but your Champion 3800-watt generator saved us and the life of an 86 year old lady across the street. We powered up after the storm on propane and quickly ran electric to a neighbors home who needed to power their oxygen machine. The coast guard arrived 7 hours later and rescued our neighbor but your Champion generator kept her alive until they arrived. In addition it ran for 163 hours non stop with the use of a large propane tank. This kept food cold and 7 families comfortable until power was restored. I can't say enough about your generator. Just bought another one for my son in Oklahoma.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great investment After plugging into our neighbor's generator for 11 days after Hurricane Irma last year, we decided it was time to get our own. Based on reviews like this, we decided on the Champion 3800 watt dual fuel model. I was impressed with the high quality hardware for the wheels, clear instruction manual, and general solidness of the generator. And when it started up with just two tries with both the electric start and recoil starter, I was very happy with our purchase. After watching stored gasoline turn into shellac and avoiding ethanol gasoline in my outboard motors, I'm sold on liquid propane. Overall, we are very happy with our Champion generator.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Kept our cafe open during the CA power outages This little generator kept our refrigerators running in our small cafe' through out the recent P.G. & E. California Public Safety Power Outages. All of Marin county was without power and most everyone else closed up shop. Not us. We kept the beer cold, our food storage cold, our coffee hot, and were able to stay open for customers during this challenging few days without power. We ran the unit on both gasoline, and propane - but preferred running on propane - longer run time and easier to handle. We ended up exposing our new business to a lot of new customers - since no one else could stay open! We pretty much ran the unit night and day for almost 72 hours. Worked flawlessly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from FANTASTIC GENERATOR!! BUY ONE NOW!!!❤️❤️ Wow!! What a terrific generator! So easy to use and this is my first generator. Instructions well written. And the quality of build of this unit is stellar. Ran it on propane for the 5 hr. break-in period; performed flawlessly. Changed the oil . All went great. Easy to start. Then connected it to our rv and turned on 15,000 BTU ac , TV, amplifier, Dish Cable box, satellites, lights, extra fans, toaster oven. During the break in period you run it at 50% so I switched different appliances off and on. All worked great! BUY ONE NOW!! The ability to use both gas and propane is the SELLING POINT! With propane no worries about gas gumming up in the engine. Propane is clean!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from What an Awsome Product! I bought this as a backup power solution for boondocking our TT on single phase 30A service. This generator has enough power to run the AC and keep the essentials going. I especially like the fact I can push to start the generator, run off the TT propane tanks or use regular gasoline. Just plug in the TT shore power cable into the RV Receptacle on the generator and done, no special plug adapters to mess with. I also liked the fact the product came with all the things needed to get up and running, including the engine oil and special funnel to fill the engine oil clearly shows how CPE is customer focused -- Thank you guys!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A MUST buy This unit is a MUST have for emergencies or even every day use. I like the dual fuel feature and is the main reason I purchased this item. I like the propane aspect, because it is easy to hook up, I do not have to worry about bad propane, my carburetor gumming up, etc. I do like the gas feature as an emergency backup. Easy to put together wheel assembly. I highly recommend you purchase a 30 amp power cord. I have only needed to used mine once so far for about 4 hours, but it started right up and kept my furnace, WiFi, TV, and a couple lamps running until the power was restored. Cleanup and storage was just as easy as setup. I highly recommend this product.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Battery replacement If you need to replace the battery on the 76533, be careful! Champion equipment may recommend going to your local dealer and replacie the battery with a ES9BS or a YTX9BS... Those batteries are LARGER than the OEM 12V7H battery. These locally available replacement batteries are about 1/2 inch longeru, 3/4 inches wider, and about 1/4 inch higher. You'll have to do modify the metal tray. Battery Length: OEM 5 7/16", Replacement 5.94" Battery Width: OEM 2 3/4", Replacement 3 7/16" Battery Height: OEM 3 7/8", Replacement 4 3/16" Best to order a replacement battery directly from Champion. Great unit otherwise...highly recommended!

Running on propane

What is the running time if you are running it on propane (e.g., will run 10 hrs. on a 25 gal. tank, etc.). Also is it quieter when running on propane?
Asked by: LongRider
Run time is 10.5 hours @ 50% load with a 20 lb.(4.7 gal.) tank. No, the sound level does not change when running on propane vs. gasoline.

Does it have an inverter?
