Additional Information
Featuring all premium components, we make our CLEARSOURCE Premium RV water filter system with a free-standing powder-coated metal chassis, commercial grade filters, and stainless steel fittings for pristine water, every time. Dual filter design, with second stage 0.5 micron carbon block element helps to protect against sediment, bacteria, giardia cysts, cryptosporidium, chlorine, lead, mercury, pesticides, petrochemicals and other impurities. Industry-leading canister size gives maximum water flow for consistent pressure even with multiple fixtures in use. Stainless steel connections fit standard RV water hoses, and stand up to years of abuse. Works great with all external RV water softener systems.

Additional Features:

NEW! Protection against viruses, bacteria, and cysts: We’ve reengineered our top-of-the-line Ultra ™ systems with new, Clearsource-exclusive VirusGuard ™ filters that use NASA-developed technology to remove or reduce not just bacteria and cysts, but viruses. No other RV water filter on the market provides anything close to that level of protection.

Three Stage Filtering: When your water leaves our Ultra™ water filter system, it has been filtered three separate times. Our 5-micron first stage filter removes or reduces rust and sediment. Our 0.5-micron second stage coconut shell carbon block filter improves taste and smell, and removes or reduces chlorine, volatile organic compounds, and other contaminants. Our third stage VirusGuard™ filter provides even better protection than advanced survival filters, with the certified capability to remove or reduce bacteria like e. coli, cysts like Giardia, and – unique to Clearsource - viruses.

NSF rated filter elements: NSF is the gold standard rating agency for water filtration systems and components. We build our systems with all NSF-rated filter elements. Few, if any, other RV filter manufacturers use NSF rated filters – which means no third party agency has evaluated them.

Bullet-proof construction: We build our Ultra systems with a rugged, industry-exclusive powder-coated metal chassis for easy setup between your water source and the freshwater connection on your rig. We use only stainless steel fittings for durable, sanitary plumbing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Filter Very pleased with this filter. I drink a lot of water and was tired of hauling gallons and gallons of water on our camping trips. The water tastes great, no smell. I feel comfortable drinking water from our faucet now. We keep it hooked up to the camper fitting and it fits into the compartment perfectly. Highly recommend.

Will this unit eliminate scale and build up and prevent water spotting?

Asked by: RynoG89
The scale build-up and water spotting often come from minerals in the water, specifically calcium and magnesium. To remove these minerals, we recommend a water softener in addition to the filter system. Here are links to those: https://www.campingworld.com/on-the-go-portable-double-standard-water-softener-conditioner-56461.html#q=water%20softener&prefn1=brand&prefv1=On%20the%20Go&start=1&cgid=maintain-your-rv%2Ffresh-water%2Ffresheners-softeners https://www.campingworld.com/on-the-go-portable-standard-water-softener-conditioner-34619.html#q=water%20softener&prefn1=brand&prefv1=On%20the%20Go&start=2&cgid=maintain-your-rv%2Ffresh-water%2Ffresheners-softeners Clearsource has a Deionizing Filter Kit available for use to wash your RV, Car, or Boat giving a near spot-free finish. These filters are not recommended for drinking water, as they last for about 200 gallons. To use this, you would just swap in the deionizing filters whenever you are going to wash your RV. Here is a link to that product: https://www.clearsourcerv.com/collections/replacement-filter-packs/products/clearsource-deionizing-filter-kit

It doesn't look as if there is enough room to use a wrench to tighten the canisters. Is that just a property of the photo, or is one not needed?

Asked by: Sam1
This does come with a filter wrench to remove the canisters. There is enough space to detach and reattach the canisters.

Is a pressure regulator still recommended, or do the filters knock down the pressure to a safe level?

Asked by: ajboudreau24
Clearsource recommends a pressure regulator right before their water filter system, set to a maximum of 60psi or less.

I've installed this system in my camper because I have well water, but my water still has a strong sulfur smell. Is there a different filter I can use to get rid of the smell? Changing the filters after only 1 month of use didn't help.

Asked by: MerrissaS
Filters will not eliminate your sulfur smell... I live on well water too and have found that the sulfur smell can come from two sources; either the well water or your hot water heater. If the water from your well smells of sulfur you can treat your well with chlorine (you should treat your well as a part of regular maintenance anyways) watch some youtube videos on how to do this. If sulfur smell is coming from your water heater you can treat the tank and replace some parts to rid the smell, again watch some youtube videos on how to do that. Hope one of these works for you, sulfur smell is not pleasant but rest assured it is not harmful.

With this 3 stage system...can I pull water from a relatively clean water source such as a mountain stream and use it as drinking water? If so...will I need a pump as well?

Asked by: rcionni
I would say yes to both questions. The water will need to be 'pushed' through the filter.

What is the gallon usage does this unit before the filters have to be replaced? Are the replacement filters sold as a package? What’s the GPM for this unit?

Asked by: Preacher
The filters are rated to process 2000 gallons of water. For the frequent weekender, the manufacturer recommends replacing the cartridges twice a year. For a full timer, every two to three months. Yes, the replacement 3 filter pack for this system is listed as SKU# 118751 Based on lab testing by the manufacturer, this filter system has a flow rate of 6 GPM.
