Measuring Instructions for Pleated Shades:Measure width first, then length to nearest 1/8". Measure width from left to right and length from top to bottom. Please measure carefully; shades are custom items and not returnable.

Inside Mount Measuring:Inside mount shades are installed inside the window casing. Measure the exact inside width if the window casing from left to right inside edge. Measure the exact inside length of the window casing from top to bottom inside edge. Do NOT take any deductions. Allowances are made at the factory to ensure fit.

Outside Mount Measuring:Outside mount shades are installed outside the window casing. The shade will cover an area larger than the window itself. Measure the exact width to be covered. Allow enough extra coverage to ensure I proper light control and privacy. Measure the exact length to be covered. Again, allow for proper coverage.

Caring for your Shades:Shades should be kept in the closed or up position when not in use, to maintain pleat retention and minimize dirt and soil build-up. Do not store shades in the down position. This may cause some loss of pleat retention if the shades are not operated on a consistent basis. Shades can be easily cared for by simply dusting or using a vacuum cleaner attachment. Do not use spot remover, household cleaners or detergents to remove soiled spots, as these may cause damage to fabric or loss of color from fading.

NOTE: If your recreational vehicle must be stored for an extended period of time, store shades in the up position and insert temporary material inside window frame (cutout cardboard).

NOTE: Fabric is only 72” wide. If the shade is over 72” wide, the shade has to have panels "pieced" together. The seams meet up where the shades are strung. Any shades over 72” are built with this process.

How to measure windows? Do you measure from out side edge of trim around window?

Asked by: Susie
Steps for measuring will differ depending on if the shade will be mounted inside or outside the window. Outside mount shades and blinds are installed outside the window casing. The shade or blind will cover an area larger than the window itself. -Measure the exact width to be covered. Allow enough extra coverage to ensure proper light control and privacy. 2" is the common recommended addition, as it provides coverage without excess -Measure the exact height to be covered. Allow for proper coverage. Inside mount shades and blinds are installed inside the window casing. -Measure the exact insdie width of the window casing from left to right inside edge. -Measure the exact inside height of the window casing form top to bottom inside edge. -Do NOT take any deductions. Allowances are made at the factory to ensure fit. An instruction video on how to measure for a pleated shade is linked below. https://youtu.be/c5vA-bmgTQ8

Is the fabric 100% blockout? Like if lights are on at night inside RV from outside it will be black?

Asked by: thequestionjp
Yes, when a Blockout Liner is added to the shade, light is entirely blocked when the layer with the liner is down.

How well do these work on a sloped window such as the rear window of an R-Pod? Will they sag or belly out when pulled all the way down?

Asked by: LEL_in_WR
The template used to build these day/night shades is designed for vertical windows. The shade does not have a frame, thus tension is created by the strings running through the fabric/rails as well as by the cord retainers mounted below the shade. When mounted on a slant or in horizontal position, the fabric will sag towards the direction gravity is pulling. Sag is more pronounced on day/night combinations due to the added weight of the center rail placed between the two sections of fabric. Where as a single day or night shade does not have this center rail.
