Rated 3 out of 5 by from Tailgater system with Wally receivers The unit works well with 1 receiver but when the second is added they both must be watching programming on the same satellite or they conflict with each other and you have no way of knowing which programming is on which satellite to avoid this. The wally also shuts down if the channels aren't changed regularly as it assumes no one is watching . There must be a workaround for this but I haven't had the time to spend on the phone to get the issues straightened out. I now own a 700 dollar system that my wife wishes we would back the trailer over because of the irritation involved.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works Great I replaced a Winegard AS 2003 that had not ever been used on my Motor home after many calls to both Dish and Winegard support to No avail. Worked right out of box first time. Only draw back is the second TV can only access what Satellite the main TV is currently on, 110,119, and 129.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from RV Camping DISH Setuo of the Tailgater was super easy. I got the Tripod and had to move it just a couple times to make sure i had a ckear view of the sky through the Trees. The initial setuo does take so e time to get all the software and Walley Loaded.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from new tailgater pro we reciently switched from directv to dish tv. at home it works good. we also purchased a new tailgater pro for our rv with 2 walleys from dish tv. set up is automatic as long as there aren't any obstructions. this is supposed to operate 2 walleys at the same time. well it does and doesn't. no one told us you have to be on the same satellite at the same time to see the program you have selected. it doesn't work that way!! very disappointed!!!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Patience needed for first use. Don’t expect a “right out of the box” set up the first time you use it. Allow hours for the satellite software to update. After that it’s a breeze.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not made for Mounting This dish gives you an excellent picture, but it takes a bit to get that picture. This unit is not made for permanent mounting because the dish has to face NNE(the handle) to work. So in other words, you can't park the same direction every night in a big truck or an RV, to get the unit to work properly. It also doesn't seem like a very powerful unit either. When we were camping, other types of dishes worked fine, but ours would not give us a signal(for 16days). So....to finish this review, if you want a light weight unit that you can take anywhere, this might be for you. Permanent mount, not at all. We asked the salesman which dish he recommended and the Tailgater was his recommendation. Per Dish Network techs, this dish should never be recommended for permanent mounting. I will say this Gander Outdoors is going to exchange it for the correct product. That is excellent customer service.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Dish Satelite Pro I purchased this portable satelite dish and a Wally receiver and since my trailer was back in storage I decided to get fired up in my back yard to confirm it all works properly. I spent over THREE hours on the phone with the DISH people that could not get the antenna to pick up any satilites. I even took everything to the front of my house and placed the dish antenna in the middle of the street with the exact same results. The Dish people finnally told me that I should take everything to my local Camping World store and see if they can get it working. At that point I was so frustrated that I said "no, I'm done". I'll just return it all and get a refund as I'm not putting anymore time into this thing. I don't need satilite that bad while I am camping and it's a lot of money to spend too. DONE!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good for main tv, terrible for the second works fine for the main TV. Not so much for the second. I realize that this is a portable unit and will not perform like the standard dish. It works well for the main TV in our coach but the second tv has a total loss of signal in spite of following the instructions. Had I known this would be the case I would have purchased the single tv dish.

I have two questions. Will this work with Bell TV. Also will a Dish VIP211Z work with this receiver in the Northeast?

Asked by: Hamerd49
No, the Tailgater series of antennas are only compatible with Dish Network. You will want the One Pro series, SKU#115869, for an antenna that is compatible with Bell, Dish, and DirecTV service. Reception of satellite 129 in the Western Arc can be difficult in the Northeast, which can be replaced with satellite 61.5 if a Wally receiver is used. Thus, a Wally receiver is recommended as it will allow you to access an Eastern Arc satellite where the ViP211 series of receivers will not.

do you have to pay every month or just the ones you use it

Asked by: butch
With Dish Network, you can subscribe to their regular contractual service or use their "Pay-As-You-Go" service where you are billed in advance on a month-to-month basis in 30 day increments. No commitment requirement, activation, disconnect, or restart fees.
