Fantastic Fan does the job
I have had an Automatic Deluxe Fan-Tastic Ceiling Fan intalled in my 2002 5th wheel since new. The fan has performed well and the thermostat and rain sensor have worked as advertised. The fan is in the rear (living / kitchen) area. I have had no breakage issues with this fan, however, I am not a full timer, so I do not subject it to extreme usage.
I have a standard OEM fan in the bath / bdrm area. It has been very troublesome and I will be replacing it with a Fan-Tastic Fan w/thermostat. Since that fan will vent the shower area, I do not want the fan shutting down from condensation when the shower is in use, so will forgo the rain sensor on that fan.

Wow! Nobody does THIS !!!
Fan works great. Quiet & moves much more air (like 10 times as much). But
here's the kicker : When I backed out of the garage with the vent open, I called to buy new
parts. It was a mess. Past warrantee + my fault = Big bucks, right? You'll never spend
another dollar on this fan. We cover our fans for LIFE, no matter your fault or not. Not even
for shipping. They sent everything fast, with a smile (you could tell)……..NO CHARGE.
You must not even consider a different fan or company! If you don't like this fan/company,
I'll buy it from you at full price (the fan not the company). Have YOU ever made an offer like
this one? I've never felt so taken care of by a company before.

Engineering Marvel
Wow! I installed this very easily over the old crank vent. It fit perfectly. I love everything about it, the quality
engineering, tinted dome, 3-speed adjustments, airflow direction option, but best of all is the automatic rain
sensor. Once you hear the rain start, a couple of seconds later that dome will bring itself down, ensuring that the
internal electronics and your camper are protected. Once the sensor dries, it will automatically lift itself back up
and start cooling again. I would definitely recommend spending the extra few bucks to get the one with the rain
sensor!

Automatic bi-directional roof vent fan
Every unit should have these! I love these fans and would probably go back to sleeping in a tent without them. I have three vent fans in my motor home. I wanted to switch them to bi-directional. Carefully read and selected this unit based on information provided. Installed one so far, second one just arrived.
Only thing is, product is not as pictured. The motor shipped was the low profile motor shown in the lower priced units. I hope they last as long as my old ones (16+ years). Also the automatic opener is much noisier than the old one. Makes too much noise when it closes in middle of night when temp drops.

Worth the investment!
I finally caved and got a quality RV vent for my van after using an old, well expired vent. This vent is well worth the investment— the 14 different speeds are amazing, and the automatic rain sensor is quite slick. Pretty nice to be able to control the vent via remote while lying in bed or from the cockpit while driving. I’ve only heard good things about this vent, and can say the same after using it for a while.

The very best customer service
Wow! Not only are these great fan assemblies; but the customer service provided by Fan-Tastic is almost beyond belief! I had installed two of their units several years ago in our prior coach. Based on the performance of those fans, I recently purchased two more to retrofit into our latest coach. Upon experienceing some issues with the new units, I contacted the factory - - Fan-Tastic absolutely insisted on being allowed to correct what was an error on my part - - without any charge whatsoever! Some really, really nice folks.

Great features!
I've used this fan in my converted van almost daily for the last couple of months! Having a fan in a small, stuffy space is crucial during the hot summer months, and I love that this one gives you different speed options and also allows for reversal of air flow (super convenient when cooking something steamy). Highly recommend!

Just OK - SHURFlo better
I had a ShurFlo Platinum w/remote in our previous 5th wheel. Purchased this Fantastic Fan 6 weeks ago ago for new 5th wheel as I heard lots about how good it was. I am disappointed in that the fan direction can not be reversed from the remote as the ShurFlo can. A pain when installed in a tall ceiling. The auto feature is clumsy due to not being able to control fan speed as you can w/ShurFlo. Very loud in normal auto
operation. I am actually taking this one out, replacing w/ShurFlo and eating the loss.

Can this fan be operating during light rain? is it exhaust only or exhaust and intake
This vent features a rain sensor that automatically closes the dome when wet and reopens once the sensor dries. The built-in manual knob allows for closing the dome in an emergency.
And it is exhaust and intake.

I am considering putting this on my truck topper.
What is the minimum thickness of the roof for this unit. If I mount this on my truck topper (cap)
I might add strip of wood around the hole on the inside to accommodate the vent fan. I would like to know minimum thickness of the roof.
Use this to keep my dogs cool when they are in the truck bed with the toper.
Minimum roof thickness for installation of the vent is 1".

If this fan is set for automatic can it be controlled by a single switch on wall?
I am replacing a manual fan that is connected to a wall switch. If I install this fan will the lid raise and lower when switching on and off at the wall?
You can wire a wall switch to this fan vent, but all it will do is operate as a master switch for power. If you want specific controls operated from a wall switch, you will want to contact your RV manufacturer or an authorized dealer for your RV. Fantastic manufactures their vents as 'Retail' models, what Camping World carries, and also 'OEM' models, what is given to RV manufacturers. Most of the 'OEM' models are capable of being controlled from a wall switch. We are unable to order 'OEM' style Fan-tastic vents.

I want to replace a vent that has no fan is the wiring there from the factory on a wildcat 293rex bedroom area?
We do not host any wiring diagrams to answer your question. You will need to contact the manufacturer or authorized dealership to obtain an answer without disassembling your vent and performing an inspection.
