Fantastic Upgrade and Simple Installation!
We
replaced the standard vent above our kitchen with this Fantastic one in order to improve
airflow and vent the area better while cooking. Our kitchen area gets hot and the vent
has helped to fix this problem.
It has been working great and looks very nice compared to the aging vent that was
replaced. I love the reversible feature which lets us use it together with the other
Fantastic Vent we have in the rear of our RV. I usually keep both fans on 24/7 with the
thermostat set appropriately. When the temperature rises above the thermostat setting,
the fans kick in and cool down the rig. It's a perfect solution. I wouldn't have an RV
without at least one of these.

Definitely worth the Money!
I was initially skeptical after reading several reviews. The local RV dealer wanted at least $200.00 to install just 1. I installed 2 fantastic fans where existing vents were located, 1 vent I had to run power to. Took just over 1hr of my time per fan, the hardest part is removing the old doctor and getting a clean base. The fans work great, the thermostat works as intended. But the best feature is the reversible fan option to get the best turnover of air possible. I will definitely be replacing the last existing standard fan soon. This fan is well worth the money spent, but do not let an rv sales and service company con you into paying a fortune for install. Go to YouTube and watch the videos.

I Should Have Just Bought It!
This fan is exactly what I needed. Instead, I bought the SHURflo Platinum model, remote controlled fan (CW had it on sale). That's a nice fan, but I was not happy with the confusing thermostat operation. The final result? I removed the SHURflo fan (carefully) and installed the Fan-Tastic Ceiling Fan and a Maxx-Air model 800 cover. Now I can use it anytime in any weather. It's quiet and powerful. I also learned that I don't need two of them like I was planning. I put it in the bedroom, open a window in the kitchen and the whole trailer now has air flowing through it.

Top Quality Item
We just installed this on our RoadTrek Class "B". It went on easily and made a difference inside our unit immediately. Installation took about two hours. However, within a few minutes of operation we wondered how we ever lived without it. It replaces the air in our small unit very quickly and provides for a nice flow of fresh air. We generally have a problem with the stove heating up the unit quickly, but a quick experiment showed that this vent kept the ambient temperature in the unit from rising with both stove buners on. A must have!!

Great Results when dry camping
We had a single speed Fantastic Fan come with our 5er in the
Bedroom. Cools very well by pulling in air from the outside when
there is little breeze. It is like a whole house fan.
We added this thermostat model to our Livingroom/Kitchen. The only
kitchen motorized vent that came with the 5er runs with the
microwave on AC. We dry camp in many of the areas we go. Since
this model is 12 volt, cooking odors go out the vent.
It is also reversable so you can set one fan to pull in and the second
one to push out. You can close your windows and use the vents only,
if there are fumes or odors from the camper next door.
Very happy with them. Helps the 5er stay cool longer so the AC
doesn't have to run nearly as much in the afternoon.

It's good, but not fantastic
My previous experience with a fantastic fan was in a rental unit, this modern unit seems louder and does not have as powerful circulation. It is the new golden colored pancake motor on this model, not the black one shown in the photo when I ordered it. It is not whisper quiet that is for sure, it's really not much quieter than the OEM (circa 1989) fan it's replaced. All in all it is a good fan, but not as good as it used to be. I would not treat the "Fantastic Fan" brand with any special expectations anymore.

Do it right
Actually, my motorhome came with the fans that DON'T have thermostats. For the main fan, I cannibalized a wall-type residential thermostat and mounted it on the inner wall of the fan. Not for the faint of heart, but I must tell you that having a thermostat is the ONLY way to go. I can leave the rig and not worry about pets getting baked. When it gets too hot the fan kicks in, but will turn off when termperatures come back down, without things getting too cold. If you need to replace your fan and find yourselves in climates that go from hot to cold each day, spend a few more bucks and quit worrying.
My only gripe with these fans (with or without thermostat) is that the lowest speed is still pretty high. Effective, yes, but more than is required for a lot of situations.

Super Fan
Purchased two of these fan's for my older camper when I Boondock camp. These fan's really move alot of air, but if you use a MaxxAir fan vent cover, ensure you use the high flow covers. I lost half of the air flow capacity with the standard vent cover. Couldn't imagine having to camp without these fan's to move the air, especially when it rains. I set it up with one fan blowing out and one sucking in.....clears the air in the camper in
minutes! Love them.

Can I get a replacement motor?
I have a 91 Allegro,. The roof unit worked until about 2 months ago. It started with no exhaust but the intake air was working as well as the speed sw and the temp select.
I have checked all the fuses and wiring and it all checks out but the motor does not run.
