The Dometic SeaStar HH-5779-4 PRO 1.7 Outboard Hydraulic Steering Helm is suited for critical high speed, single-powered outboard boats, like bass, flats, combo race/ski, and other performance-orientated boats capable of speeds in excess of 60mph. Designed for the performance boater, the Dometic SeaStar PRO is the ultimate steering system for high-speed single engine outboards.
This latest series of SeaStar helms has been redesigned to provide a better experience for the vessel operator. New valve technology ensures tighter, quieter, and more responsive steering, while minimizing the potential for chattering when dealing with over running steering loads. More durable check valves make the entire steering system more resilient to the rigors of trailering. The revamped design enhances their aesthetics and has introduced a new fill port plug design for easier maintenance. The HH5779-4 model is a direct replacement for the HH5779-3 and HH5779.
• Greatly reduced chatter noise that's typically generated by over running steering loads
• Improved check valve durability with a more robust design
• Better trailering performance as well as longer service life
• Eliminated flow noise when coming off hard-over position
• Decreased clicking sound of the lock valve spool during steering reversal
• Tighter, more responsive steering resulting in better "regrip" performance
• Full compatibility with existing SeaStar hydraulic steering systems
• Standard 3/4" tapered steering shaft
• 4.88 turns lock-to-lock
