Rated 4 out of 5 by from Poor sway control Do not like the band style sway control ...it has 1/4 inch of slop in it when it's fully tightened.. which would equal probably 4 feet of sway at 30 ft behind the tow vehicle. Should include mounting bosses for an additional sway bar on each side if you choose

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Hitch ball size It was very easy to install and set up. The only negative I could have is that I could not order it anywhere with a 2" ball. Since that nut on the ball has to be tightened to 450 ft lb it was more difficult.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Modern Take on an Old Classic My choice for a weight-distributing hitch is the Recurve R3, and here's why: 1. Ground clearance – All of the typical WD hitches are designed with the spring bars and other parts hanging below the hitch head and trailer tongue, reducing valuable ground clearance. The spring bars for the R3 are "top loaded" and do not hang down. Not all towing is straight down a level highway – you may have to go through a dip to get into a parking lot, over a hump such as railroad tracks, or jump a curb if you are trapped. At the highest or lowest point this clearance can be critical. 2. Function (and noise) – The majority of WD hitches have lots of moving parts – and all of these joints can pop, click and groan under normal use, especially when backing up. With the R3 the coupler does not pivot over the ball and the spring bars are rigidly mounted to both the hitch head and the trailer tongue. The entire set-up pivots as a single unit on the master pintle under the ball, providing smooth operation and eliminating virtually all noise. 3. Features – The Recurve provides a zerk fitting to add grease to the pintle and a built-in anti-sway mechanism that is as simple to use as turning a large Allen wrench. No more external added-on anti-sway devices or having to make adjustments to both sides of the hitch. In addition, if you ever move to a heavier or lighter trailer you can simply purchase a new set of spring bars in the appropriate capacity, as the hitch head and brackets are identical for all versions of the hitch. *** I will admit that the Recurve R3 does have a very picky set-up procedure that requires some time and patience to get right. It also doesn't allow for on-the-fly adjustments like moving up or down a link like on the old chain-style WD hitches – but once properly set up you never really have to go back to it. It's a clean and compact installation that doesn't stick out or hang down once you are hooked up, and makes towing my travel trailer much more comfortable and safe.

Does the head of this hitch come in 2 1/2" and not just the 2"? My Dodge Ram 2500 has a 2 1/2" receiver.

Asked by: Deb63
2”, you must have the adapter sleeve for the larger receivers.

can the hitch be turned upside down to raise the height

Asked by: ronco
Yes, you can flip the adjustable shank to provide lift to the ball mount height instead of a drop.
