Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great tent- Get the Aluminun Poles I bought this tent a few years ago and have had it out in the back country desert a dozen times or more. For the price and the weight I could not have chosen a better tent. The size of the fly always made me nervous about rain. But I have never gotten wet and I've stayed warm when it dropped below freezing. I read reviews about the poles before I bought my tent and decided to purchase a model from a Canadian outfitter that came with aluminum poles. In addition I cut my own ground cover out of Tyvek (for free!). Used together, I have never had any problems with wear or durability. I highly recommend the aluminum pole. I expect to be using this tent on solo trips for years to come.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Had this tent for a few years Never had any problems with it at all. Maybe they changed the pole material over the years, but the one I got in about 2012 held up fine for a long time. Only broke when I lent it to some family members who broke the zipper and attempted to fix it only making it worse. The best part about this tent is how warm it is. If it were free standing I would definitely be willing to call it a 4 season. Can't tell you how many times I woke up to everything outside frozen, but I was nice and toasty inside. There was the downside though of having frozen boots because there's no vestibule or room inside for them. I'd definitely recommend it as a first backpacking tent, simply on the great price.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from The fiberglass poles break easily The fiberglass poles both broke on me the second time I set the tent up. Finding replacement poles is a pain.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Decent value I got this tent due to the size/weight/value considerations. Like everyone else mentions, the poles are garbage. I replaced them with aluminum which helped. The issues is 60% low quality poles, and 40% design. The degree of the front and back arch are too much to ask for any poles. I bent my aluminum poles the first time out also but at least they do not break. All in all, if you can live with replacing the poles, possibly regularly, its a good tent. I slept warmly in the low 30's temps. The small size of this tent helps locks in body heat I think.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Pole breaks very easily The fiberglass pole breaks very easily. Plus I can't find any replacement poles.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Great tent but horrible poles I've used my tent a total of 6 times in every season. The last time I used it a pole section splintered into 6 different pieces longways. Love the tent just wish the poles weren't so inferior.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Backpacking Tent This tent has served me well along the NCT, Manistee River Trail, Jordan River Trail, and numerous campgrounds across Michigan and Ontario. The poles and fabric have held up very well over the past several years. This tent has kept me dry in storms and the ventilation on humid summer nights is excellent. Would definitely recommend this tent.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solid, dependable light-weight tent It's been almost 12 years with this tent, so I guess it's time to write a review about it. Picked up this tent for it's lightweight and packability for solo-trips and quick overnight camping. I've been taking this out every year for more than a decade and it's my go-to shelter. The fly keeps the rain out with no extra treatment – I've had it out for 3 days of non-stop rain and it kept me and my gear dry. The original poles are still sturdy. I'll keep running with this tent for solo adventures until it gives out, and then I'll buy another one.
